Why haven't you switched from NTFS to REFS /g/?

>I know, NTFS is horribly broken and is super slow and can't handle multiple processes writing at the same time because relies on global mutexes. Let's make a new one!
>With checksums, because checksums are cool
>And just ignore the fact that we're copy/pasting large sections of the NTFS code in, that can't make it any worse at all
good luck
Hey /g/uys,
My procrastination has been getting worse for the past few years.
If I have a deadline due at midnight on the day of, I will literally waste my time on the internet as the hours count down until I panic enough to start the work.
If it is not due the day of, I still waste all of my time on the internet (with breaks in between for meals and washroom breaks) while telling myself that it's fine, I'll totally start doing it tomorrow.
As you can imagine, this means that I get almost nothing done until deadlines come along, which you might think would galvanize me into pulling all-nighters...but no. I just keep procrastinating, surfing /g/, albeit, in a more stressed mindset. It's a vicious cycle I'm trying to break out of.
Any of you /g/uys suffering from procrastination like me?

kek that's nothing. i'll literally start after the deadline and accept all the late marks

It's dogshit.
KDE is the future.
The same thing that was always the problem: GTK.

tl;dr the 14,16, and 18 core CPUs were a rushed, knee-jerk reaction to AMD's 16 core Threadripper, and that motherboard makers don't know how they're going to support so many options. It's going to be a buggy mess at launch. If you were thinking of getting one at launch, I'd hold off for a bit.

I'm attempting to build a cheaper alternative to those prebuilt hard drive enclosures (that run 100$ for 4 fucking drives) that I can connect directly to my computer using USB or ethernet. The idea being that I can connect a raid array's data to my main computer and not construct a fully functional NAS and thus save on cash as I'm not buying a full computer, rather just space and power for some hard drives.
As far as I can tell I'll need
>hard drives
>case to hold them
>PSU to connect power to hard drive
>raid controller?
If anyone here has done something similar I would love some input.
>>60731728
I was looking into getting a 4 hard drive USB dock a few months back and was surprised at the ridiculous prices, so I'm also interested in this.
>>60731989
Norco offers 16 and 24 drive racks that would be positively amazing if they weren't 650$ and 400$ respectively.

Ever noticed that programming languages are just like musical instruments?
You chose one for its signature style or functionality then all you need to do is learn the notion and apply complex theory to use it.
What language would be the piano?
this is a terrible analogy because music is an artform capable of expressing the most meaningful, complex and nuanced human emotions
but the piano is most definitely C
>>60732746
The piano is very limited in the tones it can produce, but one is still able to go all across the musical spectrum with just the piano. I'm not sure how that is anything like C.

Neat. Volta in only 8 months
>>60731114

So, Q2 2018 for Volta then?
>>60731174
Late Q1 at the earliest. Ramp up takes some time. But they say mass production. So that's after ramp up.
Hi /g/
I have seen Chrome doing this very often.
Chrome autonomously sends UDP packets to this IP on port 6001 and 5001. It happens multiple times a day.
The WHOIS says the IP belongs to digitalocean so I guess it could be anything. It's not Chrome Update because my Chrome is up to date even though I've blocked this IP for a few weeks now.
This UDP port seems to belong to the X11 Window System used between an X client and server over the network, but why should Chrome need or utilize this?
Anyone got any ideas why the fuck Chrome is sending UDP packets to some seemingly ramdom IP in the background?
Seriously my friend, what do you expect from a jew bought out company like google, they're in the business to fuck you in the ass.
>>60731180
But this traffic doesn't go to a Google IP. Would Google rent servers from digitalocean?

Im tired of my tradie job. Ever since is was 13 I was messing around with 3d animation, little bits of coding, c++, "pseudo-hacking" aka following someones tutorials on a forum on how to do whatever, but everytime i run into motivation problems because i have no clear guideline and end up putting everything off until I get tired of my current state of existence and go back to what i know best. Im 26 now...
Again I might try again to get into compsci, but then i see all the vast amount of information online and i can't imagine going from basic c++ to cybersecurity and other big topics.
Do i just keep shoveling knowledge until i learn enough to keep going?

Hello /g/,
I am an Engineering student, and I have been offered an interview with AMD's Radeon division
The job seems to entail a fair bit of shilling and guidance - "Write reviewers' guides that highlight the performance and features of upcoming graphics products. Incorporate performance data in charts and graphs, descriptive text, "how to test" steps and other relevant materials."
I'm not interested in bitchwork for AMD, but I am interested in shitposting, so, please, /g/, what should I say, and what should I ask?

Install it
see what?
- openbsd,org -> Download -> "mirror sites"
> tells you about all sorts of installation files
> .fs for USB, .iso for VM, without file sets is ok
> tells you about signify - their signing method with short Ed25519 curve keys, it should be in linux repos
- Canada (Alberta) is the main mirror but it doesnt really matter
- on mirror: 6.1 -> amd64 -> download cd61.iso
- boot up in vm
- installation script is braindead simple
> network info
> root & main user info
> you want X, choose on sshd
> partitioning, choose auto layout, disk labels and naming are weird
> choose all file sets
> mirror: keep default, it will add it to installation, no need to post-install setup
post install:
- setup doas
- pkg_info -Q <name> to search, pkg_add <name> to install
- maybe copy the .xinitrc skeleton
- rest is on you
