>using a password manager instead of hashing an easy to remember password with SHA-256
Is there ANY reason to use a password manager at all?
21 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>60741914
Yeah, so you can lose them all when their database eventually gets hacked.
>>
>>60741914
Because you should have more than one password so that if a site gets hacked your password for everything isn't leaked.
>>60742549
Use a local password manager like keepass.

ReadHat truly owns most of the Linux community.

- most of the Linux kernel devs work for RH
- almost all of the GNOME devs work at RH
- Wayland, yep, RedHat
- Most of the GNOME userspace apps... yep Redhat
- Ext4, udisks, rest of the filesystem stack... yep, RedHat.

That fat commie Stallman is trying to steal credit from RedHat. But make no mistake, everything of value starts at RH and they're the upstream source for almost every Linux distro.

GNU is just a tiny portion. Other than coreutils, they don't fund anything of great importance.

Nobody, linux will effectively die or be taken on by a corporation (probably redhat). Linus is too autistic about his codebase to let anybody else contribute.

Alright /g/oys, I got a T420s and I wanna dual-boot Win10 with some Linux distro. My main focuses are battery life, stability and essentially just a smooth feeling that Windows sorta fails to deliver. I still gotta keep Windows 10 because muh oldschool games.

So what distro would you recommend to a Linux beginner?

I only have some tabs opened and only one with a streaming and it is using like 1,4 GB of RAM. It's very fast but it uses too much RAM for so few things, diesn't it? I don't want to imagine if I open several streamings.
