Why haven't you switched from NTFS to REFS /g/?

>I know, NTFS is horribly broken and is super slow and can't handle multiple processes writing at the same time because relies on global mutexes. Let's make a new one!
>With checksums, because checksums are cool
>And just ignore the fact that we're copy/pasting large sections of the NTFS code in, that can't make it any worse at all
good luck

I wasn't aware of its existence tbqh.
>>
>>60731844
Because it has serious issues with large volumes

Because I'm not autistic?
>>
>>60731844
Can't use it for your boot volume and win serv only. I use a Linux NAS running Btrfs for storage.
>>
>>60732608
True that you can't use it for your boot volume but as of a recent Windows update, it is now possible to format external drives as REFS.
>>
>>60732659
*And secondary drives
>>
Literally never heard of it. Why do I care when there's btrfs and ZFS?
>>
>>60732725
i'm waiting for bcachefs to go mainline
>>
>>60732725
If you're doing Windows Server in an enterprise environment it makes sense. Since very few people here have real tech jobs that's not really something to discuss
>>
>>60732772
It has a integrated quasi-dedup feature. If you're using programs like Veeam B&R it can make sense in a homelab environment.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
