Reading through it it seems pretty solid minis the volume. It just looks like a long term adjustable progressive overload routine focusing on strength, endurance, and strength endurance. I'm building all three off of other programs but once I reach my goals I'll probably cruise on this indefinitely

Why is SS the most memed program on /fit/ instead of Nsun's 5/3/1/?

I started doing it after doing a few months of SS and I enjoy it far more and seem to be making much better gains.

You do way more volume in it which seems to help learn form a ton, I'm doing the 4-day linear progression version and I'm literally ~85 bench press reps per week whereas on SS I was doing like 20 per week. Same for deadlifts and overhead press and really everything except for squats.

The AMRAP sets are pretty fun to do and the 1+ sets are enjoyable as well. Why is this program not more popular on /fit/?

A lot less people want to do 3x5 squats with 15 minute rests between sets then bench press and go home too though.

If you're not able to do that (you can also use phone app) then how the hell would you have enough motivation to learn proper form and regularly go to the gym let alone track your calories?

Agreed. I used to have several a day in my early to late teens. By the time I hit 20 they stopped. Eventually, I just told myself to stop being a pussy and that I wasn't dying and even if I was it'd be better than suffering. I also learned to breathe correctly. Cured.

What do you consider self-discipline?

I was talking to an old gym buddy today, and he brought up an interesting point. He said that most people think being able to do something really hard is self-discipline. He told me he thought that was bullshit, he thought self-discipline came from the ability to do something moderate or hard repeatedly without end is what real discipline is.

Would you agree /fit/? What is your opinion.

Hes right. There are tons of guys who go to the gym 6 days a week when they start lifting. Thats easy when youre motivated. Everyone can do that. What really counts is going to the gym when the dip(s) come(s) and you DONT have any motivation at all.
This is the point where most people quit. And then they start again when they are motivated. But they never accomplish anything because they are not steady.
