Man, the drummer in my band started vaping and I'm almost convinced that the absolutely heroin-like buzz that vaping gives him is why he's been operating at minimal effort. I hit that thing once and it made me feel so good that afterwards I didn't want to do shit with my day. It's really dangerous, be careful. I think it's probably harder to quit vaping than it is to quit cigs. Once you start vaping, you're even more stuck.

How heavy, how many reps, how many days per week and what kind of rest between sets?

Should I just replace Deadlifts with RDL's and Rack Pulls? I'm so sick of deadlifting. I have horrible leverages for deadlifting, I see no progress and I always hurt myself and get posture issues when I deadlift. I'd really like to be good at deadlifts because I want that thicc ass and upper back. Can I just do rows and rackpulls for the upper back, and RDL's, squats and reverse hyperextentions for the lower body and get the same effect? I've heard some powerlifters don't even deadlift that often but rather just hit accessories and they are still very strong at it. Pic unrelated

Short arms, short torso, long legs. My upper body is parallel to the floor in the bottom position. Yes I hurt my lower back. I once tried the hex bar, it was amazing, but unfortunately the gym where I regularly workout in does not have one.

Don't complex carbs take more energy to digest and more time to utilize? Wouldn't you want easy energy during the workout and then a slow and steady energy release after the workout when your muscles repair themselves?

So I've decided I wanted to get /fit/... I've never been out of shape, but I've never been fit. Stereotypical gamer body (the lanky one, not the fat one).
Anyway, I had a couple of questions and I was hoping you could help me out
1) How do you push through the "I can't do it"? I know I'm stronger than I feel, but I struggle getting past the "this hurts too much" I'll go up for my next pull up, get stuck before my chin passes the bar, and I'll drop. Then I'll end up going home (after I do my other shit mind you), and not feeling nearly as sore as I know I should (or could) be.
2) How do you eliminate the down time between sets? I'll do a max set of pull ups, wait 5 seconds, and then feel like I need to do my next set, which only ever amounts to two after resting that shortly. I know I need to give myself a longer break between sets, but I feel like people stare at me thinking "why is that guy just standing there?" and so I feel awkwardly obligated to do my next set too soon.
3) What is the most cost efficient way to get protein? I'm not hurting for money by any means, but I would also like to keep it that way, and so I'm not super keen on buying SUPER XD PROTEIN POWDER MAX XXXXXL 450 for $90. While I am serious about getting fit, I don't exactly have plans at the moment to be entering strong man competitions, I'm looking for a good body, not a "holy fuck, that guy must piss steak" body.

Here is a general framework for NEET rehabilitation:

1. Start lifting
2. Pick up a sport you can use to make friends like Tennis and sign up for local competitive play (doesn't matter if you're bad just go out there and do it over and over)
3. Take classes like wine classes, cooking classes, dancing classes, whatever
4. Enroll in school and enroll in group-learning based classes so you can get those social gains
5. Literally uninstall every game you own and delete your steam account, accounts on whatever forum you're on, etc.
6. Go to local cultural events like art fairs and concerts and don't bring your phone
7. Start reading the news, read longform journalism websites like the ringer for sports or avc for film or GQ for fashion so that you have things to talk to other people to (at least an hour a day)
8. Go to a tailor for fitting clothes and follow fashion / get a designer haircut
9. Take photos everywhere you go and start posting on social media and connecting with everyone you will meet along the way
