I don't know what to do, /fit/.

There's a girl in my organic chem lab who I'm partners with. She's a 5/10 half Asian/white girl, slim but very average looking. I'm 100% sure at this point that she likes me, but I'm not really attracted to her, so I was able to "be myself". It turns out that I'm capable of being funny and witty when I don't care, so I've spent the past few labs bantering and flirting with her. I make fun of her in lab, almost insulting her sometimes, but she always comes back for more. In fact, she even asked for my snapchat and regularly sends me things for an excuse to talk to me. I humor her sometimes but I don't always respond quickly.

The problem is, I'm a 24 year old virgin. I spent some time after high school working, so I'm older than the average college student. Furthermore, she seems like a nice girl. She really don't seem like the type to go out to the bars or anything like that. Pretty much a goody-two-shoes. Super studious and all that. By contrast, I just try to get by in school, use drugs, overall just a shitty person.

How do I proceed? I'm not interested in dating her.

How do I make chess gains?

I'm plateauing at a low rating and i don't know how to get better

Once you know the most popular openings and defenses (plenty of guides out there for that, just type in "most common chess openings" or "most common chess defenses") it comes down to mid-game tactics and late-game execution and plays.

The hardest part for most people is actually the late-game, capitalizing on all the mistakes your opponent has made throughout his early and mid game. When you get to the 1600-1700 range you start to focus almost entirely on tactics. Mid-game is the art of chess. All three phases are equally important, but moving your pieces in your mid-game like a painter with a paint brush is what separates your high-level players from your grandmasters.

So if you know your openings, start working on late-game. Know how to punish your opponent for how he has set himself up throughout the mid-game. Know when you need to be checking every move. Know when it's time to build a late gambit for a 3 or 4 move checkmate, or when it's time to all out assault him with everything you've got.

After you understand how to execute your late-game, how to take the kill, then you start learning about how to better your mid-game. Learn how to make it as hard as possible for your opponent to capitalize on you late-game, and learn how to set yourself up over what could be many many moves so that your late-game is in the bag. This is the reason why mid-game is the last chapter, it can last 14 moves on a super aggressive game, or it can last 40 moves on a super defensive game. Mid game is where you calculate to your absolute maximum. Try to see as many moves ahead as possible, with so many pieces on the board, only a few in the entire world will ever truly master this phase.

So yea.. Get your openings, Get your execution (late game), then spend the next forever trying to improve mid-game.

I'm 1810 on lichess right now, so I'm literally right there with you. From what I've read, getting into the 2000-2200 range is just playing a dick load of chess. Just drilling the fucking shit out of it. If you are 1700-1800 then you already know the basics and how to apply them. You already know all that shit. Now is time for intermediate-advanced study to get better.

If you really wana get past that elo, go here (https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/wiki/faq) and scroll down to the chess books section, and pick one of the titles from the 1800-2000 elo range and get reading.

Also, play, a shit load. During lunch break, few quick game in the morning before work, in the evenings before entertainment time, a few before bed. Everyday.

I do warm up sets of whatever the first exercise is. Low weight, high reps to get the blood moving.
As far as stretching goes that's reserved for leg day and back exercises (foam rolling included)
I'm probably not doing enough.

This is good. Dead-hangs are a great way to increase that strength. Also do V-grip lat-pulldowns, they really help get you up there in terms of lat strength.
