Is high metabolism a meme? I met a lady who claimed her son was 6'0 and 130 pounds and needed to ear 3k calories a day or he would lose weight. She said her son was not very active.
It seemed like she was bullshitting or over estimating the caloric intake

High metabolism is real. Using it as an excuse is a meme.
>>40353227
This. I've had fast metabolism my whole life, but after sticking to and tracking a 3500 calorie diet a day I finally gained some weight. I am now up to 148lbs at 5'8". That said, if I don't eat this for even a couple days I lose a couple pounds very easily.
How do I get an ass like this?
>>40352970
stop attentionwhoring
That's not really an attractive ass.
Post your ass (for critique purposes).
>wanting a long mom ass
Why
So what do you guys think of Skub?
Do you use it? Does it help with gains?
>>40352969
wouldn't know
my state banned all skub sales, purchases, and usage
it's probably legit
>>40352969
yeah bro, it helps.
Made my hair start falling out so I stopped.
So I just came back from the gym for the first time in my life, how long am I supposed to be in pain for? This sucks. I don't think I want to go to the gym again.
>>40352944
DOMS. It happens when you first get off your lazy ass after a long time. They go away if you keep it up, get enough protein and rest.
>I don't think I want to go to the gym again.
Yeah, I bet you also don't want to be a flabby sack of pigshit. Better make a choice, shitlard.

I know how you feel man. For the first week my tendons in my joints would be real tight, but that went away so will yours keep it up, eventually you'll feel less sore. You can do it anon!
I've always heard that "starving" yourself (as in, eating VERY little throughout the day) is bad for you. However, any time I talk to someone who recently lost weight and knows little about nutrition, when I ask, "How'd you do it?" they usually reply with "I just starved myself, basically". So, despite it being bad for you, does it actually work?
>pic-related possible through starvation?
>>40352917
I did it and it turned out well. Didnt get too low on fat because i wanted to protect my gains. But to look like that you dont really have to worry about muscle mass
"Starvation mode" is a meme
do you think early humans ate every day lmao?
The human body will use energy stored in fat tissue if it doesn't receive enough through nutrition.
After fat your body will start breaking down muscle.
So yes you will lose weight/fat by starving yourself but good luck maintaining that for any significant amount of time.
>Went rock climbing yesterday
>Forearm DOMS
How good is rock climbing for building forearms?
Been on that reddit PPL for the last 6 months but I've never really had DOMS in my forearms until now.
>>40352817
your forearms is the only thing preventing you from falling and breaking your neck
what do you think
>>40352817
Rock climbing rocks your forearms like nothing else on god's green earth. Unfortunately, most of what you're building up is finger strength, which doesn't do that much aesthetic-wise. Lots of pro rock climbers have surprisingly small forearms.
>>40352817
Rock climbing well is (almost) all about hanging your weight efficiently off your skeleton, reaching a position which doesn't take much effort to hold (ideally deloading the forearms too). That's why most dedicated rock climbers are skinny with only a few muscle groups showing and noticeable size development. It's a specialized skill, not efficient strength training.
Just do farmer's walks and weighted chins/pullups.

I've read and heard that yoga can make you grow up up to 3 inches. Im 5'10 and 18 and would really like to be 6'1.
Is yoga legit? Have u guys tried it? If it works when should I do it in the day? thanks.
>3 inches taller from better posture
no
Flexibility through yoga or stretching can improve your posture and potentially make you appear minimally taller. You won't grow though.
>>40352629
>yoga can make you grow up up to 3 inches
Not going to happen.
If anything, lifting - with good form, mind, you don't want to damage yourself but to express more HGH - would help more.
Yoga is good for stretching, or as a spiritual thing. Even then, there are better stretching routines, yoga can more easily lead to damage, especially in hard spine twist or spine bend poses.
How bad are my bicep insertions. (No pump in muscle at the time of making the pic.)
take a photo with a better angle you nonce, front double bi preferably
Best I can do angle-wise
I feel like my insertions are utter shit, then again I never do reverse curls. Will those help?
Hi /fit/. Long ass post but please give this a read.
I am a former landwhale who has lost about 18kg since September last year. I am (as of today) at 10.2% bodyfat (8.5% upper, 11.8% lowerbody) and at around 47% muscle mass (47.9 upper, 46.5 lower). Over the past month I've been able to both reduce bf% AND gain muscle mass (cutting at ~.07% bodyweight per week). Throughout this elusive winter cut, I've managed to not only maintain but improve my lifts (though not as much as I'd like).
My macros:
Carbs (150g) - 30%
Fat (67g) - 30%
Protein (200g) - 40%
As you can see from the spreadsheet, I've been aiming (with some exceptions here and there) to track everything, eat clean and hit the gym 3-4 times/week (while trying to balance a job, my master's studies and what little time that leaves behind for my social life).
The reason I'm posting here is threefold:
1) IDK if i'm retarded, but I legit still feel fat. I know the numbers paint a different story but it's like ppl that lose limbs, I feel I have phantom fat. Should I continue to cut? Should I go on a bulk? For how long (I've never bulked, only been cutting ever since I started).
2) My upper body-fat % is sub-10 and I still don't have any abs, am I just a cesspool of genetics or am I mistaken about the threshold? Also my fat deposition is laughably bad; I have bitch tits, a thicc ass and phat af legs and hips. Wat do?
3) I have spoken with a nutritionist and done some research on my own, but I lack the proper experience to ascertain a proper macro ratio I should adhere to (if at all; I know some say you shouldn't go by ratios?). Also, side note: I tried Intermittent fasting, but with my busy schedule that's not something I can realistically stick to without feeling like a zombie nearing the end of the day. What do you reckon?
If you read this far, thanks a lot. I appreciate all kinds of feedback.
p-pls respond ;___;

>10.2% bodyfat and still not have abs
How did you measure it? I'm sure you're not at 10% BF if you can't see your abs yet. Post a pic.
Ratios are a thing of the past. Aim for 1.8gr pro/kg bodyweight, and fill the rest of your calories however you like - for example 1gr fat/kg BW, rest of calories to carbs and fiber.
>>40352449
at least you choose the best calorie counter on the web.
1 only eat once a day so counting cals is really easy for me
you are not 10% bf unless you post a picture i am pretty sure your 15%
So this is the legendary metaphor for progressive overload. But how would you go about doing it in practice?
I'm not suggesting you buy a calf. My approach would be making extremely small progress every single day. Instead of trying to add +5kg a week, you would add 100 grams daily and never (or rarely) take off days.
I'd also only choose one lift. Perhaps clean & jerk.
>>40352356
If you want to truly replicate the workout, you dont to perform any lifts. You just have to put the barbell on the back of your shoulders and walk around your gym and use progressive overload to progress.
>>40352356
>you would add 100 grams daily and never (or rarely) take off days.
even lifting a constant amount you would need to take days off

You can press off the floor. I'd do it with dumbells to retain most of your range of motion, though
ITT: the perks of being strong. I'll start. Carrying groceries is easier than ever.
guys are jealous of you at the gym
getting out of bed is nothing at all. no spasms, no laggy movement. still drink coffee though.
You can always carry your gf without breaking a sweat
ITT we post our inspirations for lifting.
Pic related.
