This is how the power settings work . Touch it once to set the timer for 3 hours, twice for 6 hours and a third time will turn the unit off. How does it know it is being touched? If I could stimulate it three times every 5 hours I could keep it on the 6 hour setting.

Hello folks.
My wife and I are interested in building a vardo / gypsy wagon (pic related), for use as either a camping trailer, guest house, or possibly even for long term living. There are a variety of build guides I've found, but I thought I would drop a line here to see if anyone has any experience or advice on building campers in general, and tiny campers in particular.
Anyone have any stories, resources, or advice on these things? I know it's probably a long shot -- but the internet is a strange place, so who knows.

Hi folks!
I rarely come to this board, but figured you could help me.
I would like to set up a 5.1 sound system in the room of my new apartment and the owner gave the permission, but asked me to make it so I can fix it if I move out in the future.
What can I use which can hold hanging speakers and can be removed with the least damage to the wall?

How heavy are the speakers.
If you can hit a stud, a simple screw would be the easiest to fix. Otherwise you're basically stuck with anchors. The trick is to just tap them below the wall and spackle over them.

Pic related. I don't need much, just room to sit and look out the windows. Maybe enough space for a bed so I could spend the night.
I live right on a lake, so supplying constant fresh air from an electric compressor running on grid power is no problem.
I'm just trying to figure out what to make it out of and the logistics of getting something heavy enough to hold down all that air into the water and sunk where I want it.

I don't think so. I'm scuba certified and have a great deal of diving experience, I have a solid grasp of the principles involved and how to make it as safe as it can be with various redundant backups.
All I'm proposing here is a simple diving bell that's big enough and comfortable enough to spend some time in.
Hello /diy/. So I got this electric motor that a uncle gave to me and I'm trying to repair it. I have almost no electric skills but I thought that with your and youtube's help I might have a chance.
So it has been under rain for a couple days, so it got water in the electric cables. I took it apart and dried all the components, but this capacitor seems like was gone, so tomorrow I will buy a new one.
Anyways can it be fixed guys?

Is this your first time programming microcontrollers (or programming in general)? If so the STM32 looks like it has a steeper learning curve than, say, Arduino. It looks pretty cool though.
1. You need so much "crap", because you are building up from (almost) bare metal. But I think you may just be missing some steps in automation (from my 15 minutes, very cursory research. Got stuff to do and don't own an STM32).
2. You aren't going to learn straight C. mbed as far as I can tell is not a language, but an IDE. You shouldn't need any assembly unless you plan on getting in direct contact with the chip...but I don't know, I've only used Arduino. Development boards usually use some abstraction to make prototyping fast though.

I was given a Raspberry Pi 2 as a gift some time ago and I was really excited when I got it. It was fun to tinker with but ultimately I quit messing with it so much and it has been sitting in a closet for some time now.
A few days ago I decided to pull it out and see if I could use it to watch some stuff on my TV without having to connect the HDMI cable from my computer.
My experience so far has been as follows:

This device is really only good for GPIO pins and as a cloud server. Other than that it's literally a meme device that is shit compared to even the most basic smartphone which has wifi without the use of a dongle.
I guess I would be up for buying a 9 dBi antenna and making a Piratebox. Anyone have any other ideas?

Is your only interest consuming media? If so, you have to realize that you are limited to what will run on the Raspberry PI, unless you are willing to do some work to get what you want. Its a SoC with GPIO: you have a computer with OS and GPIO, so you can do *anything* a basic computer can do. It just isn't built in. However, there aren't any arbitrary restrictions either (like with a smartphone).
If you want to do more than consume media; then google is your friend.

BTW, that's kind of the whole point of RaspberryPI. One higher level of abstraction than a microcontroller; one lower level of abstraction than a computer or built-for-consumption device.

So today I thought of about playing CSGO and while waiting for the game to update I thought of going on facebook
but instead of the usual google.bg site opening this site opens
I open my options menu in Chrome and it says that the default search site is WebSearch wich is bullshit
after an hour I tried everything to remove this WebSearch thing off my Chrome but to no successes

No dude, the way you detect minuscule contaminants in oil is with a spectral analyzer which is stupid expensive lab equipment. It's soooooo much cheaper just to pull an oil sample and send it to get tested that "diy-ing" a spectral analyzer into your project (I'm assuming your truck) is objectively a bad idea.

Dear /diy/, I'm an apprentice electrician.
Word of this gets around to my friend who purchased a totally disconnected massage chair off craigslist.
He totally believes I can connect everything and get it working, wouldn't even take no for an answer. So I googled the serial number got jack shit. I phoned a few massage chair companies to see if they can trace it but I'm now informed that companies purchase a base model and stamp their company logo on it so it essentially means nothing.
I can't find any instruction booklets online.
My friend like I said seems convince that I can but I just don't want to. He said he'd pay me if I can, is this worth my time? I feel like it's just color to color connections but the shops I phoned say it could be more complicated than that and nothing can be done without the model number (non existent on the chair) and an wiring diagram.

Hey guys, I just unburied an old well at my house, apparently not on record. It's really shallow as wells go, I can see water down about 8-10 ft. Can anyone recommend a good pump that would be able to self prime this distance?

It wouldn't have to be. I could get a cylindrical submersible pump you shove down the pipe but they usually start at 300 bucks, and want 220v power from what I have seen. Seems like that might be overkill for this setup though

Sharpen it back up. Maintain the main bevel. Apply a microbevel to finish it off.

Be careful enough so I don't over heat the steel and destroy the temper.
