If it's anything like mine you're going to want to spend a day reworking every solder joint in the thing for starters, ongoing mechanical stress to sockets and switches tends to introduce fractures in the connections over time.

You'll also want to replace every cap in the damn thing. Pull the lids off and show us some guts shots so we can point you in the right direction.

at the back? the backsplash will cover it
at the join? sand down the edge to the right angle for a better fit. once the join is good fill with sanitary silicon

It would help if you were to post what it is you are trying to make and the task it will be used for.

You're a mug if you get conned into using that pocket hole shit. At best it's useful for applications where you're fixing in panels into cabinets and there is no load on it.

If I were to guess by looking at the castors you have set up I'd presume its some sort of trolley.

You're better off setting up something in a 'rail and style' pattern so the load is directly on the castors and spread over the wood grain, rather than relying on glue and screws alone in a butt joint.

Pocket holes would be weaker still.

Hmm.. good point. Won't i end up with even more "braking"? E.g. if i fail to align those two same end bearings, I'll get +2 drag points.

Maybe just using a longer strip of metal inside the bearing might help? Like pic. related.

But to be honest, if i'm buying more bearings i might just get the correct I.D. ones. AFAIK, getting 15mm thread axle would be more expensive. It's just that i had these laying around.

dremels atm are at their worst, and they all have a terrible reputation. go easy on it and repair as soon as anything starts breaking. first thing id do if i was you is open it, change ball bearings to ceramic, make sure everything is oiled up

What would you have recommended instead?

I was aware of what you said, but everything I read pointed me to the dremel, primarily because of the availability of spares. The RTX from black and decker looked good and cheaper, but had issues finding replacement brushes for example.

Again, I don't imagine Chinese knockoffs would be better n that respect. At least this thing comes with 24 months of limited warranty.

I have heard people say that the bare bones cheaper dremels are better than the more expensive multi speed ones.

I have never really seen proof of that.

I have bought a dremel multi max oscilation tool, and I have a regular dremel rotary tool.

I had almost immediate buyers remorse for both tools as they were a bit expensive, but over the years I have run into unique problems that were solved with having them lay around.

I think everyone should have a dremel laying around

reason why i ask is that if you live in an old home (like i do, house built in 1939) the house has more than likely had electrical added, changed, amended, tapped, removed, repaired or disconnected in one way or another
this is also assuming that the work done over the years was with at most a qualified electrician and at least a deranged enthusiastic do-it-yourselfer with no knowledge of wiring (more than likely it is usually done by someone with a skill set somewhere inbetween these two extremes - this also assumes they were sober when they did the work)
for these reason, you gotta follow the wire, however you do that from the outlet to the panel box and figure out where it goes, ends up and gets tapped - is it a straight run or is there a weird junction along the way

forgot to mention
i helped an electrician friend of mine (he had over 30 years of experience) move my old ancient panel box from main floor to the basement
we carefully labeled lines from the panel box and marked them to the circuits in the house
at one point he disconnected an entire circuit from the panel and we both thought it was dead
he picked up the line and got a shock - he just shook a bit and said it was still live - i touched it and fell back, convulsing like an idiot
turns out that after 30 years of electrical work you get a fair share of shocks that you eventually get a sort of immunity to - he said he has been lightly shocked like so many times he does not flinch that much anymore
however if it is your first time, get ready for it
anyways the wire that was live turned out to be connected to a spaghetti network of wires that tapped into all sorts of junctions, switches and boxes that connected to live wires
when he realized how bad the wiring was, he said it was too dangerous to leave it like that
we had to fix it by rewiring most of the house

Rented one from my university to play xbox. Projectors put out a lot of heat and even with the window open and a couple fans going that little room got hotter than hell. Just something to consider.

What is your budget? There is a few portable 720p DLP LED projectors under $500. You just need space in the dorm room and a blank wall to project your video on. If you don't have room then just buy a first surface mirror on ebay and use it to reflect the image from the projector on a wall with only 12-15 inches depending on the zoom level of the projector.
