A poorly made model from either porcelain or clay, painted, with fake fur glued to it.

Never seen the pic before, but what you posted shows exactly that if you look at the details.

Try a reverse Google search or something or ask in the request board /wsr/, not here, and please stop waisting board space and our time.

I have this rocket mass heater I built in an an off grid squat. We have to bring water in from an outdoor source and I'm wondering how I can harness hot water on tap from this without getting too fancy. I have a fair amount of copper coil. I'm thinking maybe a foot pump attached to the coil to pump water through the pipe which is wrapped around the barrel where it ends at the top and hot water will come out. Anyone have any experience doing this?
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>951097
Yes, but it is better to have a tank at a higher level rather than straight to tap, this is just to have a constant temperature and pressure.

Also, rather than wrap around outside, just put the coil inside the fire.
>>
>>951100
There's not really a way to get the coil in the fire. It would obstruct the flow of the fire as far as I can tell...

Hey guys,

I'm moving to an apartment soon and I've been getting into woodworking lately. I've been thinking of a way to keep a small shop in an apartment without getting in trouble for the noise. What I came up with was making a small room using modules as pic related.
A sheet of plywood, a couple sheets of neoprene, rock wool in a 2x4 frame, another couple of sheets of neoprene and a final sheet of plywood.

Am I on the right path here?
Does neoprene absorb low frequencies as I'm expecting it to? And does rockwool keep higher frequencies inside?

My ideia is to line up a few of those modules to make a floating floor, put some of those as walls and roof, making a fully enclosed room.
Is it going to work? What do I have to do?

Also, general room insulation thread

Would it be possible to rebuid a keybord so it only has AWSD and spacebar? It would be nice to have these seperate and aviable to my left hand.

I'm fairly handy, but haven't tried anything like that. Is it possible?

hello /diy/,
so the usual chinese suppliers have this led clock that runs on 5V DC over USB, and can work off a 3V coin cell if not connected.
how would i go about making a battery and charging system that would charge the battery from the USB when connected? i have some hobbyist electronics knowledge, and am pretty confident in my soldering, but this is somewhat above my knwledge level. google mostly sends me to some instructables from 2008 with crappy pics and drawings...

here's the board, if anyone would like to know which chips it uses. surprised it's not some chip-on-board plastic drip...
>>
If you're using a proper li-ion cell (i.e. one that goes to 4.1V or 4.2V at top of charge), then you can wire one of these in parallel with it:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-TP4056-5V-Micro-USB-1A-Lithium-Battery-Charging-Board-Charger-Module-/191677384222?hash=item2ca0dcc61e:g:NS4AAOSw0JpV4nuS

They typically ship set up to charge at 1A constant current, but this can be adjusted by changing the value of one of the surface-mount resistors. Requires some delicate soldering.
>>
>>951812
Adding: you would then use the USB port on the TP4056 board to charge the cell. The come in mini and micro USB.

Open to any ideas and i will post build updates if a good idea passes by.

(Yes i know thers only 5 in the pic, the last is hooked up to the VFD for testing)

/DIY/ I need your help with my neighbor. This neighbor is causing a lot of ruckus and my current fence is not keeping him now his pooping dog out of my yard.

I am worried that this guy will start weeding my garden, and shingling my roof. I already have a gardener and a roofer. I do not want them to lose their jobs.

I am thinking about replacing the fence with a wall. The total wall will be just shy of 2000 miles in length. As you can imagine, the surface geology, bedrock, and groundwater conditions vary considerably along this length. I am going to need something that will work for the entire length.

What will be the best approach to construct this wall to keep my neighbor and his dog out of my yard?

Price isn't really an issue. My neighbor will be paying for it. He thinks he won't be, but we will see about that. Hopefully >>>/adv/ can help me on that front.

My other neighbor is cool. We don't even have a fence separating our yards. He does have some weird hobbies and interests, but still a pretty good neighbor. So I only need one wall.

Thanks

Seems to me like putting down the dog would be an easier option. The neighbor too, if he's that much of an asshole, then you'll have two yards and won't need a wall at all.

Hello, I have a data recorder that my work uses on a weekly basis, and I need to convert the recording media (floppy) to ANYTHING more modern. USB drive, SD or CF preferred. Anyhow, what am I looking for to replace the floppy drive? I've googled floppy drive emulation board, floppy to USB, floppy to SD, etc. Nothing that plugs into a typical ide connector and converts to new all digital data.

Any ideas? Will post some pics.

Hey /diy/, excuse me for posting such a (probably) simple question. This is the first time I ever post on here because I think you might be able to tell me what's wrong.
(I hope this thread won't get deleted, I'm a bit desperate about this desu)

So, I got a new bike and it came with a weird pump. I can't use my own pump on the ventile :/
In the picture you can see it, I just put the parts of it next to it to make its structure visible.

Well, the pump fits the ventile but I cannot use it.
When I saw it first, I thought there would be something missing, the part you push and pull, you know?

Am I right? Is it missing or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry again for this stupid question but I'm not very familiar with pumps.

Oh and I also don't know what this chop is for?

Thank you in advance :)

Over the years I've encountered a bunch of Phillips-head screws that had shallow heads or widely-spaced notches or both, and because of that couldn't really be turned by regular screwdrivers. The point goes in and just merrily spins around, grabbing hold of nothing, or worse, it almost grabs but doesn't, and starts taking little bits out of the notches. Sometimes it's not so much the pointiness of the screwdriver or bit as it is that it takes a while for the blades (I think that's the right term) to stick out enough to grab the screw head. Does anyone know where I can get some screwdrivers or bits that will work with these flunky screws?
