Feed the bread, eat the cat.
*grows mold as soon as you turn your back*
That's why you buy frozen, just as good as fresh.
Most mold-prone fruit coming through.
I never understood how we made any profit on these at Kroger. Out of every case of 16, we had to throw away between 2 and 6 of them.
>>9153767
Fortunately i think grocers get tax breaks by donating to local food banks. I recall tons of times getting damaged produce. Either physically gashed or some pieces were moldy in a box. Nothing to prevent most of the fruit from being eaten, and the poor people ate it. Everybody wins.
I wouldn't call it a hot sauce, its more like a spicy relish
I can't stand super acidic hot sauces like tabasco, but pic-related my commonly available favorite hot sauce

Sweet pickles

Hey I just got a meat grinder and I was wondering if anyone knows a good chicken burger recipe
I was thinking of grinding up some whole chicken thighs but idk if the skin and bones would fuck up the burger
>>9164763
Grind the whole thigh, the collagen in the bones acts as a great binder.
BONE apatite, OP.
>>9164763
better idea instead of that, grind up some beets and bread crumbs and make a beet burger
>>9164763
Most chicken meat is too lean to make a good burger, but if you did want to try it then make sure you use dark meat.
Skin won't fuck up the grinder, but it does make for an unusual texture. I've done that many times for making a Thai-style sausage.
Most meat grinders cannot handle bones, and you don't want to run bones through it anyway. Bone bits are horrible in ground meat. You might think that the grinder would totally pulverize them, but no, you'll have little pointy shards in everything, and probably a broken grinder.
Will French toast batter stay fresh in the fridge for a day?
>>9164391
Also pic related, the recipe I used.
>>9164391
It's custard, not "batter." And, yes. I would, in fact, recommend that it go in the fridge at least overnight before you use it.
>>9164452
Oh fuck, I didn't know that and thanks for the tip!
So we're all in agreement: steam, THEN fry.
>>9164268
yes, in butter.
>>9164268
No. Fry in butter or grill until BLACK
simmer in flavorful broth until 140F grill until crispy skin and internal temp of 160F
So I basically have $100 that's supposed to feed me for like 3 weeks. Tonight I was planning on making chili dogs, and tomorrow probably some spaghetti and meat sauce. I was wondering though, are there any other good and cheap recipes you guys know about? I'm assuming this topic comes up a lot, but I would really appreciate any ideas.
Assuming you have some cooking ingredients already in your house, brusselspouts. Coat in olive oil, balasamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook at 400 for 15 - 20 minutes or pan fry to liking. There's often buy one get one deals on them at stores. So you can get 2 pounds of em for 3 bucks.

This is a joke thread, right?
Like "I only have $6000 to last me this weekend"
>>9164154
those are not cheap meals.
10lb bag of brown rice
beans
go get fresh veg every few days
maybe some eggs and whole grain bread loaf and some fruit for breakfast.
last you a whole month on $100 and very healthy.
I suggest adding varying spices to each meal you eat otherwise you're gonna start h8in life if you aren't used to eating this way.
I'm going to the book shop soon. Could /ck/ recommend me some good cook books?
