Why don't young women know how to cook anymore?

Is there a feasible way I can subsist on this kind of budget while still being able to cook healthy food that'll last a month or more?

I'm struggling to afford cheap lean meats and ingredients for good pastas (make my own sauce, I'm not a fag). Vegetables and fruit are practically impossible given the current price of produce.

Any tips? Any of you guys on /ck/ ever have to live this? How did you succeed?

go to food drives, you'd be surprised what rich people will donate, stuff like name brands, speaking of brands, but store brand tend to be cheaper with similar result. I buy best value ric..everything when i can. Meats are indefinitely harder to get good deals unless u live at the super market and know when they mark down, so id recommend butchers, most times they are cheaper. Or be lazy and live on ramen soup

I ordered a burger amd cheese fries at this steakhouse one time, and I usually don't cut my burgers in half to eat them, but I did for this one. I'm glad I did because there was a hair inside the patty. I called the waitress over and she looked shocked as fuck. I got a new burger and a second plate of fries though.

I mean, what really can be done, man. Same thing happened when I was younger and we went to a super fancy restaurant that took an hour to find a seat and the food was stuff you could make at home from a box. He'd fucking yell at the staff as if they could do anything about it, or even cared.

It's actually kind of incredible how many flavors are practically inedible.

I guess when you're making dirt cheap dough pockets stuffed with nasty jam paste you can afford to make a lot of mistakes.

Bet for all the dozens of flavors they have not even 10 could qualify as good or tasty.

What knives do you own? I have a carbon steel Sabatier that I rarely have to sharpen, mostly used for onions at prep time. A stainless Mac Nakiri I keep at a razor-sharp edge for most of my other prep (chiffonade, brunoise), that I religiously sharpen every other time I use it, and a deba I hardly get to use.
