Stop overreacting. Yes, the sidewalks in front of the fish markets are pretty ripe by the end of the day, but it isn't that bad.

As for where to eat, your pic is right around the corner from Nom Wah, where they sling average dim sum all day long in a tourist friendly environment. My guess is you wouldn't be able to handle much more than that.

Please post webms of those Mexican munchies where they mix ramen noodles and doritos with corn and hominy and like 15 different kinds of sauces, cheese, sour cream. I don't know how to search for it, and I a sick curiousity makes me want to try it.

Yeah, that's how I found the pic in the OP, but I can't seem to find anything like that one webm where they make that food monstrosity in a styrofoam to-go container.

Just select the "images" tab to search by image.

If I had saved it I would gladly post it for you but I didn't see the point in saving it.

Why is Mexican food so nasty? I mean there might be 2 exceptions but Mexican food is so floury and unflavorful. Why do white Americans like this garbage so much?

They don't. They like "TexMex" which is basically any overly processed crap you can imagine with cumin and extra sugar.
It's a shart, beetus thing.

I'm on a low calorie (under 1500 a day) diet, and all foods that meet this criteria taste like failure. Help me out /ck/. Am I gon die?

We are all going to die
it's just how fast.
Dumplings are about 50 - 60 calories each with right brand, and I survive on less than 20 pieces per day. Those are good in a vegetable stock with carrots and the like.

Limit your carb options, and eat more meat with vegetable, and you'll feel alright. Don't have to go full keto, just recognize that you don't need to eat so much carb to survive.

Any of you co/ck/s drink or use this? I've been nursing a sore throat for a while now and was thinking of getting some of this, since it supposedly helps.

I drink it to burn fat also its great for broths and pork. but make sure you get the darker color one if its a light yellow which is from granny smith its gonna be very sour compared to the brown which comes from red apples
>>
>>8154641
I use it for pickling.

>>sore throat
People ascribe all sorts of miracle bullshit to that stuff. A woman I used to work with swore up and down that it would cure all sorts of diseases, including cancer. I'm very skeptical as to how drinking acid is supposed to help inflammation in your throat. It's the opposite of logical sense.

What is the absolute best side dish to go along with chicken breast?
24 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8154570
Carrots, shredded
pasta with some creamy sauce or mashed potatoes
>>
>>8154570
white sauce pasta is pretty good yeah.

not so sure about a side dish but an easy way to make your chicken even better is to fry some mushrooms with red or yellow bell pepper in some butter and make it a wine-butter sauce. spoon it over the chicken and it'll be 5x better.

Thoughts on Birdseye Steamfresh packages? Are these good standalone meals? They're only about $1.50 per package so it seems like a good deal.

I had one of pic related the other day and added teriyaki sauce and it was good.

>>
>>8154499
Anything in a "ready to eat single serving" package like that is rarely a good deal. $1.50 is not a lot of money outright, but the amount of rice and veg in that thing would cost FAR less if you bought a big sack of rice and some frozen veg mix.

...of course, there is the convenience factor to consider. You can just toss that fucker in the microwave. But as far as price goes? No, it's not a good deal.
>>
>>8154506
>there is the convenience factor to consider.

That was my main consideration. I have a rice cooker but that takes at least 20 minutes to cook and prepare the rice and in addition you have to clean the pot afterword etc. If I had to prepare my own carrots, peas and corn in addition to the rice itself it would take even longer. Time is money as they say.

What are some good cooking methods for very lean cuts of red meat?

I'm an avid hunter and end up with quite a bit of very lean venison and wild pig meat every year. I usually slice it very thin and use it in a stir fry or pound it out and use it for chicken fried steak but I'd like to try some different cooking methods. Cubing this meat and using it in stew or beans results in dry, somewhat tough, and bland chunks of meat. Most of it is a bit too tough to be enjoyed as steaks (and I don't want to eat med-rare wild pig meat either).

>>
>>8154213
I also make a ton of venison jerky every year and have no trouble finding ways of using the lean ground meat I end up with. It's the larger cuts of meat from the back hams and front shoulders that I need some different ways of cooking.
>>
>>8154213
Buy meat grinder. Mix 30% pork fat and make any sausage, meatball, meat patty you want.

When you braise or stew, mix in 30% pork butt or beef chuck cubed.
>>
>>8154296
see
>>8154228

I already make a lot of ground meat that I can find plenty of uses for. I usually grind it up lean and then add fat later if what I'm cooking will need it.

I'm more curious about how to cook larger (2-4 lb) cuts of lean meat.
