Hey /ck/
Making gnocchi for the first time tomorrow
Like every recipe I try, I watch a dozen youtube vids trying to nail down what I want.
But I'm indecisive as hell, so could you guys give me an opinion on what to use as a sauce?
I was thinking, put thyme into the gnocchi, like in one of Gordon Ramsey's vids.
But I don't think I like the sauce he did.
If I do a butter + sage sauce, would the flavor work with the thyme? how about a basil and tomato sauce? how about that same sauce with oregano? Does lemon zest work in any of these sauces?
I'm still learning, and I'm not quite sure how the flavor of the herbs would interact, and this recipe is sort of a test in some ways.
Gnocci:
500g mash
125g pasta flour
125g cornglour
3 eggs
Seasoning
Handful of chopped herbs
Make gnocchi as normal
Sauce:
500g Jerusalem artichokes
1 onion
1 leek
1 bulb of garlic
Shavings of truffle
200g beech mushrooms
200ml cream
200ml chicken stock
Make sauce like you would a soup and puree.

Can i use water and egg?
you could use powdered milk ;)

Suppose they invent powdered water. What do you add to that?

Anyone try to make their own gyro meat before?
How'd it go?
exception: peated Islays
Great value (wal mart) mac and cheese. Don't eat it much anymore but wayyy better than KD.
Also wal mart cheapo frozen pizzas ... fuck frozen pizzas to begin with but at least wal Marts is cheap af.
>>8171366
As a Canadian I disagree, but I'm also not paying $25 for fucking syrup.
How do you try to broaden a conservative eater's palate and get them to be less scared about trying new things?
My roommates are midwesterners who's favorite restaurants are Olive Garden and Buffalo Wild Wings when we're surrounded by good Korean and Mediterranean food, and who have probably five vegetables they eat on the regular.

They're obese and have difficulty eating new things which limits their diets considerably. And it's fun to try new things. Why wouldn't you want to help someone like that?
halp /ck/. I love spicy food, but it makes my poops so painful. how do I enjoy muh peppers without hurting my butthole?
Skip the middleman and just put the food in your ass
milk enema every 4 hours
I've literally never had painful or spicy shits after eating spicy food, is it something that only happens to some people?
You have $100 to last you two weeks. I know this is a decent amount if you're frugal enough, but I'm not and tend to splurge on things I shouldn't buy (cheese, wine, seafood, etc).
What are your essentials, and how much do you spend on specific categories of the food pyramid?
>>8171231
>$200 a month
>decent amount of you're frugal enough
i spend 50 a month on food. i could live like a king for that much.
100$ of ramen noodles
Can last a year

Let's say, for the sake of this hypothetical, that I'm an autist with so little cooking experience that it frightens me to even try.
Where on the internet would you direct me so I go from fast-food-connesieur manchild to Gordon Fieri as fast as possible?
I know how to find tutorials, recipes, etc., but some are still above my head and I've seen contradictory things, so I'm basically just asking for the best online resources for a dumbass to teach himself cooking.
