Brown or White...?
Not sure there is a difference really
>>8172861
Of course there is. One is brown, and one is white.
>>8172857
There is no difference. Whichever is cheaper is better. Used to be brown 'cause people thought they were "dirty", now it's white 'cause people think brown ones are somehow "more organic". Morons.
My fiancee and I are making burgers tonight. The only issue is we live in an apartment that doesn't allow any kind of grill on the property. We've used an old George Foreman in the past, but it's very imprecise to get it cooked right and our burgers usually come out very overcooked. Anyonr have any tips for cooking them over the stove or even in the oven?
If you fags need help operating a stove, are you sure you're ready for that sort of commitment?
Apply suitable heat to ground meat until requisite doneness is attained
>>8172831
I have to agree with this. You're not allowed to be engaged until you can operate a stove top. I find it alarming you're considering the oven. Just have a pan, patties, apply heat and remove when desired doneness is achieved.
He could broil them in the oven. Nothing wrong with that. Just have to keep an eye on them so they don't overcook.
But anyway, Op... just use a pan with med-high heat on whatever kind of burner you have on the stove. Add a little oil in the pan, when it gets up to temp cook patties on each side for about 3-4 minutes. Maybe less depending on thickness. They should come out all right. And make sure you have some fatty hamburger. I like 80/20.
What's the deal with tamales? The corn husk isn't edible, and it isn't solid enough to use as a plate or a wrapper, and the people who invented them wouldn't have had refrigerators so they'd have had to eat them right away, making them useless as a "fast food." How exactly were they convenient for anyone before the invention of the microwave?
>>8172724
I don't know what the deal is but you should post images of tamales and not what white people think tamales are. :P
>>8172730
If you don't want white people to think those are tamales, why do you go door to door selling them to white people?
>>8172724
>they'd have had to eat them right away, making them useless as a "fast food."
What?
What are some easy to make or ready comfort foods?
It's winter now and we need some recipes or things to buy from the grocery store
Make this per the directions. 2 lbs. beef, 8 oz. tomato sauce, 16 oz. water
Then pour it over fritos, and top with cheese and pickled jalapenos.
>>8172656
I like to just cut up various fruits/veggies or some quality cheese when it comes to snacking.
I do sometimes eat the goldfish crackers.
They're the only junk food I'll buy other than those little bags of fruit snacks, but they're for the kids.
frozen burritos never ever cook right
>>8172651
why would you subject yourself to this horror?
these do good, always get them in the 12,18 bag. I use to make homemade. freeze them, and have a ton of them, all turned out good.
>>8172651
El Monterey's do.
Seriously though you could make your own burritos pretty easily and they'd likely be a good deal better for you.
pic related
Imo's pizza
>>8172600
Endo's End pizza in denver. I dont remember if it was all that good but I lived a block or two away from it and dad would take me there on the weekend if I got good grades
Be honest, how many of you eat pic related while shopping and not pay for it.
Every time
over-seasoned* I would just die of thirst
>>8172587
I sometimes eat something from the snack bar while shopping, but always pay. I'm an oldfag and have never stolen anything. I don't know why I'd want to start now.
I made about a pound and a half of avocado/jalapeno hummus in order to get rid of a can of chick peas. It's too much just to use it as a dip though, so what are some good recipes I can use hummus in?
Its gonna go bad pretty quick so better hurry
>>8172554
I know, that's why I wanted recipes to use it with.
How quickly will it go bad though?
>>8172552
freezing ti is your only option and it will never be the same
I just hope you learned your lesson
im wanting to add new lesser known cocktail recipes to my repertoire.
I want to test and potentially use as many as possible so if you have recipes local to where you live, or you have one of your own I'd like to hear it
Was thinking about making a thread myself but I'll just post in here.
I want to start making cocktails, what's a good combination of spirits and other ingredients to get in so that I can make a good variety of them? I don't want to just make one cocktail over and over y'know?
Sorry I can't add one to your list OP.
>>8172686
Tequila and rum isn't a bad choice to start with imo.
Make sure you have access to decent amounts of ice, limes, lemons and sugar syrup at a minimum. Orange, cranberry, pineapple, passionfruit and apple juice can be added into your list as you learn more than the basics.
>>8172738
White rum? And what sorta things can I make with those?
What the fuck is up with casseroles?
I understand that it's another poor person's "throw shit together", but stew is usually much more acceptable than these abominations. Who else was raised with this shit?
>>8172483
Lasagna is a casserole. Do you have a problem with that too? How about French Cassoulet? Or Swedish Jansson's Tempation? Or Any number of dishes that are baked in one dish from all over the world?
Where do you think American casseroles came from? How fucking stupid are you?
>>8172483
>not liking Tuna-Noodle-Casserole
You should see a doctor, there's something wrong.
a casserole is a stew without all the liquid
>tfw actually like when everything turns pumpkin spice
Same, it's my favourite meme.
I have no issue with it either.
vodka
irish cream
hipster tazo punpkin spice chai mixer
its pretty good. im ok with the pumpkin spice stuff in general, i find new combinations id be to lazy to try otherwise.
Someone requested this story in a days old thread and I finally found it so here enjoy
Also food disaster story thread if you want
>>8172360
not the requesting anon, but was there are surprised i didn't have this one when i went to post it for him. thanks.
Holy hell just remembered about this y'alls in for a treat
>>8172469
i know this is likely all completely false
but if it isn't jesus fucking christ
You use home grown spices, right anon?
You don't settle for shitty dried up spice flavored dust, right?
I grow ciboulette, spearmint and basil in my balcony
>>8172364
Add Garlic to that and you're set
Fresh garlic is so much better than store bought or dried, it a world of difference, and it doesn't have to take much space if you only grow a few bulbs. Puts your cooking up at least one star by itself
lol I live in plant hardiness zone 3 the only spices I can grow is indoors.
So, does anyone have an idea on how this might taste?
probably like cough syrup.
thick and excessively sweet with that ethanol bitterness.
I don't eat soup because my parents used to force feed it to me when I was a child.
>>8172349
That sucks.
>>8172349
I could care less.
I eat everything because I had a happy childhood
