What was the worst food trend in recent memory?

Whole grain everything
Tastes like dirt

Nice try, FDA.
Now fuck off.
If the one quart line on the "easy measure cap" says "1 quart" then is it really necessary to list the instructions for 1 and 2 quarts on the back? Do people really need it spelled out for them how to make a gallon?
Are Americans really this stupid?
>>8828546
It's not really common knowledge how many quarts or cups are in a gallon here. It's not a useful measurement. We eye everything out.
The only thing I give a shit about is how heavy the gallon of water is that I have to carry up the mountain to my house every day.
I have enough indigestion, I don't need to purchase it in powder form. That's not coffee and that's not tea so I don't really give a shit.

D-does bumping work here?
I watch this when I'm dicking around at work. It's almost pornography. No annoying voice to get in the way.
Are you a regular anywhere? Do you get the same thing usually?
In the last two months I've become a regular at my favorite hole in the wall mexican restaurant in walking distance from my apartment.
I go there probably about 2-3 times a week and get the same thing every time. As of late when I walk in, I smile and say hey, and they usually just ring up my order without me even saying anything.
At first it felt bad, but now it's kind of comfy. I usually tip a dollar or two every time and I get pretty nice portions too.

Me and my squad used to be at this burger place. We went there to drink beer tho mostly. But since our favoritt chef and waiter who we became friends with stoped working there we dont really go there anymore. Plus they removed our favoritt beer. But still hella cool place. Everyrime we went in the door they would start pouring the beer for us and everything

being a regular at places fucking rocks.
at my old job, most of my department would go out for lunch every monday. there was a little pizza/wings place with amazing food, but it took a while to cook. after a couple of trips there, they got into the habit of bringing our checks out when the food was served and would always offer to give us drinks to-go.
more recently, a buffalo wild wings opened here and was the only wings place we had nearby at the time. my dad loved going every tuesday evening. since they were brand new they made a big deal out of customer service and we would always ask for our favorite waitstaff, and one of them would put our drink orders in the moment she saw us walk through the door. all the good waitstaff is gone now and their service is mediocre, but it was cool while it lasted.
Guys, I made some chicken tendies. What are you having for dinner?

How grand!
Was he a good chef of a meme?
>>8828214
Paul Prudhomme? Hell yes, he was a good chef. I have both his "Louisiana Cookbook", and his "At Home" cookbook.
This could turn into an philosophical, existential thing. What exactly is it that makes a good chef? His stars? The number of hungry yaps he stuffed? The sold copies of his books? His unique recipes? His audience ratings? What?
>>8828267
What do you think defines a good chef?
i have chicken drumsticks what do i do with them
>>8828121
just roast them with salt and pepper and make some dipping sauce on the side
Buttermilk marinade and deep fry.
>>8828121
1. Grill chicken in pan, dont overcrowd, add spices if u want, cook 2/3s the way there
2. Get your favorite beer and deglaze pan after taking chicken out
3. Reduce it a bit and then add some garlic and potato starch
4. Put back chicken and fully cook it
Or make fried chicken w/e
Rate my Chili /ck/
i really hope you enjoyed it :)

Looks decent. I'd make three changes: get more color on your meat, cut your onion smaller, and hold back on the water (or thicken it).
Also, prepare for anti-bean hate.
>>8828067
Its turkey and its pretty good actually
What's the best mustard money can buy, /ck/?
Pic semi-related, I get this all the time and it's fucking delicious, but I'm sure there's better stuff out there.
>>8828049
This, hands down.
Do not confuse the newly available pre-prepared Colman's with this. The pre-prepared stuff contains a lot of extra additives. You want the powder, reconstituted with water, vinegar, or wine as best suited for the dish you're eating it with.
Welcome to the /ck/ challenge: Monthly edition: Thread 4!
The theme is announced on the 1st of every month, and submissions and voting are welcome all month!
SCORING GUIDELINES
We recommend an 'Iron Chef' style scoring system. This means you, the people of /ck/, will judge each entry individually instead of deciding on what you feel is the "best" dish.
Dishes are scored out of a total 20 points, based on 4 categories (worth a maximum of 5 points each); Presentation, Originality, Appeal and Challenge Goals. You may award 0's if you feel the contestant did not meet your expectations for a category.
-Presentation: The appearance of items on the plate; plating skills
-Originality: Creativity in composing the dish
-Appeal: How appetizing the food looks/whether or not the dish appeals to your personal taste as a voter
-Challenge Goals: How closely the entry followed the challenge goal(s)
The distinction between Presentation and Appeal: If someone submits an artfully arranged but burnt steak as an entry, it may score high in Presentation but low in appeal.

Copypasta Scoring Format for Lazymodo

This month we'll be trying out casual voting only.

The theme of April is..... Random a Spice!
Go to pastebin.com/EhEx9gHF for this month's instructions.
While you're perfectly welcome to make a large spread of food, please make sure there is clearly a "main dish" because that is what people will be voting on.

k. here's some food, I guess. Omelette over kush, in the spirit of omurice. The omelette actually finished cooking on the inside while I took pictures, so no money shot unfortunately. I rate it 7/10 overall. It was a tad dry due to aforementioned circumstances, but it was a good way to use up some Easter left-overs.

Are you going to go try the Starbucks™ Unicorn Frappucino®?
>>8827664
Nope. I hate starbucks and everything it stands for.
No, I don't support liberal numale organizations. This is why I only buy from places like Dunkin Donuts and Chik-Fil_A. Nice traditional Christian owned franchises

What about hooters?
Their pretty liberal.

I remember long ago before the Asian fiasco (even though that episode is old as hell), /ck/ hated her and on youtube people REALLY REALLY hate her. Give me a good reason why this woman is HATED. Having a smile you think is fake or not liking her "housewife" demeanor does not match the vitriol this woman and her family gets. Is it because they're white and from a red state?
I don't know too much about her but her cooking seems decent
she needs to relax on the plastic surgery tho
She got famous from stealing people's recipes for her blog and her show in general is fake as fuck. Her husband is like an old money millionaire or some shit so the down home farm stuff is as inauthentic as it gets.
Let's not even start with her white trash cuisine.
>>8827480
/ck/ hates her because there's nothing new, interesting about any of her recipes or her shtick, as to why other people hate her it's more or less a variation of >>8827499.
I know someone from Osage Count, OK and they said everyone hates her because she basically lives in a bubble. She thinks "normal country livin" is owning 400,000 acres of property with a half dozen houses on it (including one specifically for filming) and hiring your own private teachers to home school your children. Apparently she hardly ever leaves the ranch since there's a team of people working taking care of her every day.
Have you ever made kombucha at home?
Does it taste as good as store bought ones?
What instruction did you use to make it?
How long did you ferment it?
>>8827398
DO NOT MAKE IT
My grandmother used to make me drink it when I was a wee lad living in Russia. I vividly remember vomiting several times. Stay away.
>>8827853
Did she use distilled water to brew the tea?
I heard batch can be fucked up if the water has contaminants.
No one should ever drink kombucha, store bought or home made. It all tastes like putrid piss that's been sitting under the sun for a week. Looks like it too.
