Figured I'd ask here because I have no idea where else to ask. A simple (and maybe dumb?) question, it's my first time trying out cooking and so far the last few days have gone great but I'd like to try a crock pot stew, just some beef and a bunch of vegetables. I'd like to add some beef broth but I'm so against how much sodium it has in it, I won't touch it. What are some tasty alternatives to beef broth? I tried to google but I got a lot of "just use chicken broth" instead kind of answers.
>>8830859
You could always try using pork.
>>8830859
>What are some tasty alternatives to beef broth?
Just make your own stock. It's super easy, and you can even use your crock pot to do it.
You could also buy low-sodium broth from the supermarket but homemade is going to be much much better.
>>8830866
this
you can also use wine or dark beer for beef stew.
How do I make good crunchy tendies where the batter/breading doesn't fucking fall off?
>>8830830
Double dip back into the egg mixture then breadcrumb
>>8830830
flour->egg wash->breading.
make sure you let the breading dry a little before you deep fry it.
>>8830830
put them in the fridge for an hour or two before frying
Is there anything more beta and pathetic than a 'craft beer' drinker? Lol. I bartend part time and I always get a chuckle out of seeing someone order their overpriced estrogen-laced IPA
>>8830829
What's this IPA/estrogen meme all about?

I really want to spend 60 million dollars a year feeding this bottomless pit of a woman, no thank you.
vegan here
20 bucks a week for food what do you buy?
>rice and beans
>everything else towards spices and oil
>veggies or multivitamins
meat is unnecessary and a jew scam.
>>8829971
You get $20 a week?
I get $20 a month. I buy 10 gallons of water, some ham, several slices of cheese, bread, and then send angry letters to the DHHR the rest of the month.
>>8829971
bottle of vitamins every week? u must be healthy
>>8829971
I'm not a faggot so I wouldn't know.
Hello /ck/ uni fag here.
What are some fast cooking meats that i can put along with my noodles, so that all i have to do is put boiling water on it and it cooks along with the noodles?
Im thinking dehydrated meat but i dont know where i can get hold of that stuff.
Also would prawns work?
Also what are some spices to make it taste better? (asides from the seasoning that comes in the packet)
Have you tried shoving a few chopsticks up your ass?
Beef jerkey. Use the seasoning packet that comes with the jerkey
Rotisserie chicken if you're that lazy
Apparently Church's Chicken is selling fried chicken for 65 cents from 2 - 4 the next few days. I've never been to Church's. Is their chicken good? What about their sides, which ones are the best?
>>8829523
Chicken is fair, sides are an abomination. Get spicy chicken. People here swear by their biscuits but I think they're terrible.
>this obvious shilling
But fuck I'm poor and this would be a good treat for me so idc
The slaw and potatoes are...adequate. The gravy's pretty good. The biscuits are great, especially dipped in the gravy.
KFC Australia now does KFC chicken marinated in Tabasco sauce. Does /ck/ think this would taste good? Also have any of you anons tried it yet or plan to try it?
>>8829478
>Does /ck/ think this would taste good?
Considering Tabasco sauce is just vinegar and red food coloring, no, I can't imagine it will.
>>8829694
i thought it was meant to be spicy and pepper too?
>>8829694
I hate the stuff too, you're not alone.
Franks is worse though.
I am a little too plump for the a simple female chump who I'd love to hump but am currently stumped. Am considering disregarding my taste buds in hopes of losing weight. Is soylent my lord and savior? If you have experience with this drink, which flavor to go for? I was thinking nectar or original.
Based on what you just wrote, losing weight isn't going to help you with women at all
>>8829351
M'lady
Buy a 32 box or a 72 box.
Drink one for breakfast and one for dinner. Eat whatever you want for lunch. Get into a good exercise routine too.
I drank soylent for about 2 weeks with no exercise, and replaced it as 1 or 2 meals per day. I lost about 5lb with no effort. So if you really want to get a big supply and exercise, you'll be fine.
I've recently found that I really enjoy horseradish now, even though I disliked it as a kid.
Any good recipes or favorite applications? I've only been using it on beef so far and I'd like to expand.
tuna salad, deviled eggs, grilled cheese, quesadillas, pizza.
basically anything made with mayonnaise or cheese.
>>8829297
I like putting it in my spaghetti sauce but that and sandwiches is about all I use it for.
>>8829297
It's great in homemade Russian dressing.
Who /pickyeater/ here?
I've been an extremely picky eater all my life, I don't use condiments, I don't like sauces, I don't like any fish or seafood aside from calamari, and I eat hotdogs and hamburgers with nothing on them just the meat and bun.
I'm trying to branch out and eat more but it's hard, I can't make myself like something that tastes like shit to me. I couldn't even eat fried rice or blackened chicken until I was 27
I'm not the only one am I?
How the fuck can you like calamari but nothing else?
Squid is shit tier seafood
>>8829284
Just can't do it man, I've tried a bunch of different fish, lobster, crab, can't eat more than a couple bites of any of it. Hell I can't even eat spaghetti if there's sauce on it.
>>8829280
Don't take this the wrong way, but... are you on the spectrum?
Anyone here work in a restaurant or bar?
What are the entry level positions like?
I might have a chance to get a job in the back of a yuppie style casual dining restaurant/bar (you know the type - big drink menu, $17 - $35 entrees, big outdoor patio, etc) and I'm not sure what to expect. I used to work in a factory, so being on my feet and being hot/sweaty isn't a big deal.
>>8829224
>What are the entry level positions like?
Shitty.
>being on my feet and being hot/sweaty isn't a big deal.
good, go for it.
>>8829245
ok, but what is the range of tasks/responsibilities?
entry level is usually dishwasher
Hey /ck/ I'm making s special treat for dinner and I'd love to teach you how to make it! I call this dish the "double pizza surprise." I hope you like the surprise!
>>8828882
Is the surprise that you stuff it up your ass?
Totino's party pizzas have recently changed their shape. They are square now. You can make a pizza sandwich out of them now! Preheat the oven to 300 F please!
>>8828882
I hope you deliver, OP.
>farm to plate
>fall off the bone
