you sound like one of those people that don't see their own faults

Havent Smoked in a while, cutting back on everything
>>
>>1009155

Maybe stop discussing in general terms and have a look at some hard numbers? "Hardly ever" means you still do and "wasteful spending" is subjective. "Cutting back on everything" what the fuck is everything?

If you're not going to be real with yourself about your spending habits then you're just another broke wage slave. Different to no one else and so should not expect to "become successful", whatever the fuck that means.

Turns out you processed 100k

On top of that your main selling item finally gets an upgrade and you're still the top seller even when you started selling it late

Hey /biz/ OP here from the /personalfinancehorrorstories/ thread.

I really want to become a financial advisor. So far i've been studying for the series 65, along with reading a few books on personal finance, investing, and economics.

Ideally i'd like to open my own firm, helping people get their personal finances on track and helping them plan for the future. I see a market here, because many people are really clueless. I've already got a fee schedule in mind, as well as a few marketing strategies to help get the firm off the ground.

>Other than the series 65, what more do i need to (legally) become a financial advisor? is the series 65 the absolute bare minimum?
> is the series 65 really difficult? I've taken a few practice exams and it doesn't seem too awful, but anyone here take it before?
>any books that would be helpful for a financial advisor or someone interested in the field?
>any advisors on here? what does your day normally consist of? what are some issues/types of clients you see more than others?
>what kind of insurances do you need to start your own advising business/firm? any legal issues to be aware of? im in US (Penns.), do i need to register with the state, FINRA, or any other agency before charging people money for advising services?

thanks in advance for any help

Alright I just accepted a position with a $105,000 salary, with health insurance, 401K, and end-year bonuses.

How should I save/invest/spend this money?

My monthly expenses will be ~$1,500 rent, $2,000 loan payments, and food/living expenses.

How do I turn this into richness?

Because I can think of easier ways to do this for one. Also hell, why stick with credit cards. Do you realize how easy it is to get a car loan? Do you realize how easy it is to wash a title? It surprises me more and more that more people aren't doing this.

That depends on your situation, obviously. Do you have debts? Savings? Are you a kid with some cash, or someone older and experienced?

If you're looking for investment suggestions for disposable liquid, one thing I've thought about playing in would be other liquid. Why not play with some currency exchange? Of you have actual money your investment portfolio should have more than one reserve currency anyway. I'd personally be curious about sinking some money into the Ruble, since these sanctions and low oil prices aren't going to last forever, and once it does end, you could stand to make some money in the exchange rates.

Why is there pretty much no material on actually getting rich?

I don't mean the self help platitudes like 'rich dad poor dad'/'fastlane', day trader fantasy shit, or the old 'put your money into vanguard funds/ETFs so you can buy a mercedes when you are 60' advice

I mean strategies/guides that deal with:

>finding and raising venture capital
>valuing businesses
>exploiting hipster trends
>how to find chinese factories to manufacture your shit
>dealing with international entities
>some profitable industries with low barriers to entry
>tax strategies
>how to restructure debt

I don't want to deal with this 'save money from your paltry income for 50 years' you idiots spew or 'JUS BELIEV IN URSELF WARREN BUFFETT DID THIS NOW PAY ME 200 FOR DIS SELF HELP SEMINAR', I mean advice on shit that is actually helpful as far as starting a business or that kind of thing that rich people tell their buddies and their kids but never seems to get written down. I have yet to find it, only the same hackneyed self help drivel.

Why would you buy anything other than Bitcoins?

Altcoins are the R&D labs, some might be useful but I doubt any are a superior store of value or currency.

Ether gets talked up alot but it's unlimited in supply and is doing something completely different from Bitcoin.

People who support any of those projects have no answer to what will happen after bitcoin sidechains come online and even script-kiddies can copy paste all that hard work onto a sidechain secured by bitcoins.

Banks, governments and financial institutions have all reported on bitcoins.

Some banks think they can still beat Bitcoin to the punch with a centralized internal database if they just get enough of the other banks to sign on to use THEIR "private blockchain" and that might convince some of the more mundane people but the tech crowd knows what happens when an intranet competes directly with an internet. AOL made money for awhile but it didn't last long.

Download lawnmower.io and hook it up to your coinbase account. It will buy bitcoins with the change from every purchase you make on your debit card. You buy a soda for $1.25, lawnmower charges an extra $0.75 and buys bitcoins with it. This little tool will outperform just about any fund manager anywhere and if your under 40 probably pay for your retirement within 10 years.

I have a question, /biz/, and I'm genuinly curious.

To you, what is the value of a dollar? How do you see it? What does it mean to you?

I grew up a poorfag and am in the process of getting my shit straight. Interested in what rich people teach their kids about the value of a single dollar.
