I'm tired of being a wageslave and my school situation is fucked. what's a good home business for me to get into? I like putting shit together. I figured I could make stuff and sell it online. Not necessarily Etsy stuff but mechanics. I'd be down for etsy though.

I guess it depends largely on how good you are.

Certainly as you become more skilled than merely assembling prefabricated parts then you will be able to earn progressively more than a Chinese worker, which is desirable if you hope to have it fund rent/food/bills in a developed country.

Pic related is one of my biggest positions. Bought some, it went down so bought some more. Bought the last batch today and now I have 900 stocks at an average price of 67 NOK with thousands of euro down of the original value.

I'm in on Sdrl too. Bought a bunch at $10.50 in January and doubled down at $4.20 last week. I-it's bound to recover, right?

Not even close to my biggest loser. No, that spot is reserved for ISH, which I guess just got taken off of the NYSE today and is down another 90%.

Hey /biz/,
First year commerce student checking in. Still unsure what to specialize in, b/c I like everything I study so far. I was told these books would teach me a lot and help me understand what I want more. What book would you recommend I start with? Is there more must read literature that is not on here?

Also got a side question. It seems to me that one of the most important skills in business is talking to people and whatnot; anything I could do to further better myself in that field?
Thanks!

If you have insider information you're better off picking your own stocks, but if you don't have insider information or a computer network doing calculations you're basically playing a game of complete chance so you should go with etfs to minimize risk.
>>
>>1007183
Worked for me.

>If you have insider information
I don't, I just read the fiscals and the analysts reports from experts in the industry I was thinking of investing in.

30% anual book value. However bear in mind I bought my positions in the shmitah when they were massively underpriced in relation to the DCF's and Graham Nr.s (not necessarily below it, but near them) and in my understanding that is what you have to seek for while value investing, the "sales".
>>
Might as well ask here. How do I start investing? What to read, where to do it, etc? I've never had any education on the subject and I'm from a medical course, so I've had absolutely 0 contact with this subject during my whole life and don't know where to turn to.

Is the secret of those who got rich is to never ask "How to get rich?" and do EVERYTHING by themselves?
21 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>1006944
Discussing "how to get rich" is a fruitless discussion because no one will ever tell you how to get rich
>>
>>1006945
They'll tell you how. People discuss it all the time.

But once they know, people don't actually do it. They keep talking about it. Endlessly. They don't cut their expenses, they don't work hard or learn more to advance their careers. They just...keep going, always feeling like they are missing some trick. Like there's a post they can like or a tweet they can retweet and the riches will roll in.

Spend less money
Make more money
Pay off debt and save/invest everything you can

And you may not become a billionaire but you can at least retire early and live whatever life you want. If that life involves continuing work and shooting for billionaire status, great. But there is more to wealth than more wealth and a lot of people just do something else instead.
>>
Asking random questions with no thought or direction put into them is going to receive equally terrible answers.

People are either gonna tell you lies about how to get rich, speculate about some way they haven't tried yet, or preach about their own decisions.
No one is going to hand you a pathway to money that they haven't already tried themselves. This is only anecdotal or interesting at best, because "riches" are found by making your own brand and path

tl;dr get of fukchan and read a fukin buuk

For the last several years I have juggled working full time, crippling depression, school, recovering from being raised in a cult masquerading as a church, and working through a mountain of debt because of said things.. I just cant do it anymore.. I need help and am past pride when it comes to asking.. please anything you can do.. I used to have alot of stress myself living alone from the age of 19 working and going to school. What I realized is that I was mistaking responsibility for stress, there is a huge difference and the sooner you realize that the easier you will have things become. NEVER have that mentality. "Oh I'm stressed time to freak out" is essentially what you're saying to yourself whenever you feel something bad is happening and it will slowly build up especially if you have no one to talk to. It's really hard but what helped me was having a clear mind free of toxins. This is not a joke. It changed me completely, the more clearly you can think the easier things will become, don't drink, smoke, take drugs, etc. cut out caffeine from your life otherwise every day will be a roller coaster of emotions, worry, and headaches which only make it worse. You'll be suprised what slight changes in what you consume will do for you. I'm not trying to preach that you should stop eatting sugar and what not, I'm just tellign you what truly helped me when I "thought I was stressed. To tell you the truth, you really do just THINK that, there is never a time where you have no other option when it comes to finances. There's always something else you can do, the question is whether or not you are willing. I hope this helped you, I don't have much time before my break is up but hopefully you find whatever it is you're looking for, you seem lost. Ten speed anon.
>>
That was literally the nicest thing anyone has said to me in months.. Thank you so much
>>
I'm in the same spot brother, I was actually about to post a thread asking if anyone else has lost a lot of money with bad decisions and made a comeback.

Basically I bought a car from a guy for 7k, found out he lied about the mileage and the car had triple what he advertised, and it has problems he didn't tell me about. Now he says even if I sued him, he doesn't have a job or income so I would receive nothing. I'm fucked.

Anyways, look into mental alchemy and hermeticism. Mindful meditation or occult practices which teach you things youve never even thought of. Being conscious of things you've never knew existed but were right in front of you all your life. Pinpoint every little thing negative that gives you stress or anxiety and neutralize it. Like the poster above said, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine will feel good at the time but make things worse when the withdrawals come. Get enough sleep.

If anything occultish scares you, try religion. Im christian but Buddhism will teach you to be conscious of these things without the "satanic" crazy sounding shit Normie's don't understand.

Where can I download SAP ERP and SAP Logistics? The cost of the courses is just too high and the software is just too expensive.

You really cant.

Not only is the software insanely expensive (Last I looked a non-customized ERP suite was 70k per seat) but SAP are very very serious about piracy. Ive seen SAP twice in 10 years on a torrent site and it was gone within a day, even on my invite only tracker.

>tfw SAP has a department of almost 1,000 people dedicated to nothing buy keeping it off sites.

FYI most of the courses you take give you a limited time (usually 8 months) seat for free or almost free.

I'm 28
Only worked retail ( Best Buy and Apple)
2 classes away from an Associates degree (in general studies)

I'm thinking about learning a trade (electrician) but that will take 5 years to complete

Any advice guys?

>>
>>1008364

Learn Carpentry instead.

You can build a shack to live in on your retail salary.
>>
if you want to learn a trade, learn a trade.

You're not asking for advice you're wanting reassurance
>>
>>1008364
Apprenticeships typically pay better than retail but lead to higher wages upon completing journeyman test for your licensing. I'm in Texas, picked plumbing as my trade to learn over eight years ago. I switched to a commission based plumbing company in February this year, busted my ass working lots of overtime shifts and overnight calls, and can say that as of last Friday I've cleared over six figures for the year (before tax).

My plan is to get my master's license, open up my own residential service company, and be office managerial roll only within five years. Staying as a trades person your entire life will give you health problems. Lots of people do it though.

Long story short, I'm employed full time and get paid $15.55/hr, I found out I've been approved for a loan, my job pays for my rent, groceries and internet bills but nothing else, now my question is, since I've been approved for a loan, minimum $2,000, maximum $7,500 (my credit score was able to bump the max of 5,000 to 7,500) is the bank gonna pull a fast one and raise the monthly fee?

>>
>>1008306
You'd be surprised, I know I was
>>
>>1008304
Are you saying your job pays for those things for you or that your wages do and nothing more?

Also, why the loan and what fees are you curious about? Like a maintenance fee on the account shouldn't go up because you have good credit. If they do that, tell your bank to fuck itself and go somewhere else. If you mean loan payments, yes. Payments on a $7,500 loan are higher than payments on a $5,000 loan if ask other terms stay equal.

>>
>>1007967

If they actually let you into the military with a GED you've already beaten the odds anyway.
>>
>>1007967
It really depends. It can get you free college. So in that sense, it might be worth it, as you can use that college education to make more money.

The money likely isn't that great. It's my understanding they get paid more when deployed. So there's that, but the base salary is shit. The good part is the government covers your housing, food, healthcare, etc. If you don't blow all your money on stupid shit you should come out ahead.
