In about two or three weeks. Inb4 get a job, I'm taking the max allowable hours from work and am still going to be a grand short.
Never rent out your own orifices. That's not >>>/biz/ thinking. Instead, find the demand for orifices to be filled and then fill the demand with other people taking a percentage of the net profit.
Maybe look into selling off semen, blood, etc? If they do that in whatever country you're in.

All your money into ASTI

I'm a black Manlet so the semen market is a no-go. Blood is taken here, but I've only seen it done voluntarily without monetary compensation.
I need to buy a car to live out of, as well as pay off some debt accrued by my parents under my name.
So the job market
>average of 5 applicants for each job (let's be generous)
>only the best will get it, so that's the top 20% of applicants
>each time a new job appears, a new applicant enters the field (steady unemployment)
>by this logic on a broad scale, only the best 20% will get a job, while the rest will have to find a less competitive field
This sounds horrible

legit question : How many of Ivy league admissions are non legacy ? What does getting a non - legacy admission at an ivy entail ?
Fuck unions.
>>1001103
>Fuck unions.
I will drink to that
>>1001103
>>1001319
But seriously...
Unions say they are out to protect the working class. They make life "great" for a few working individuals. Some workers realize they can be super lazy.
Bob is one of the lazy workers.
>can't fire me, I'm union
Frank is a hard working mason. He is actually the best mason to live in the 21st century. He goes to the union hall looking for an apprenticeship.
>sorry bud, we are full. Maybe try some non-union gigs.
Bob's son turns 18 and graduates highschool the same day that Frank is turned away.
>Congratulations Bob Jr. You are now in the union.
>Do you know anything about the skilled labor we provide?
>No. That's okay.
Now, the union has two worthless "skilled" craftsmen, Bob and Bob Jr. Bob and Bob Jr both demand a 15% raise over 3 years. Plus they want better health insurance, for free of course.
Now construction costs increase.
The unions say we get better finished products with their highly skilled workers. But wait, Bob and his son both suck at their jobs.
All the while, Frank is waiting tables at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Union worker here.
I work in a union/non-union environment.
>I do the exact same work as another guy on the job
>I get paid 260% more than him
>I get better benefits
>I get paid holidays and time off

A simple "hacking/cracking" game I have just uploaded to Google Play.
I have monetized this with advertising. Should I also go ahead and offer a "premium", zero-ad version for $0.99 or similar?
I would say in order to get your app popular among a bigger crowd you should take it easy with the advertisement, meaning don't make the ads anoying. My recommendation would be no ads until you get X amount of downloads and x amount of user then go with ads and then to a 0.99 app.
Yes it's understandable that we programers need to make some $ as well but work towards a better app than towards the money
>>1007109
Unfortunately I have gone and "released" the app in its current state.
I will ensure that the next revision takes care of the "advert" problem - change the frequency of them. I don't think I can justify getting rid of them altogether.

Inheritance Thread
How much are you gonna get when the folks kick the bucket?
I'm next in line for $350,000. I would be damned if I had a sibling or two which could have put me down to $150k or so.
>Tfw least favorite child of the family and senpai told me I can expect nothing
;-; Feels bad bro. Is there any way to get my fair share? How does disputing a will work? Anyone done it?
>>1006646
How did you manage to become such a "least favorite" that they excluded you from the will?
Also, I don't think you can dispute a will, especially while your parents are still alive. It is their will afterall.
>>1006649
I meant dispute it afterwards.
Idk they just hate me. I get almost no gifts at all compared to my siblings that get vacations paid for by parents, regular gifts, all sorts of stuff.
They've threatened to kick me out for a long time and even said I won't get anything for inheritance.
>2015
>still denying the benefits of a higher minimum wage
when will you stop letting highschool economics brainwash you all into this?
>>1006571
But in Canada our McDonalds memes cost quite a bit more than the US and not too recently went up in price again.
Wouldn't this just lead to unemployment?
Also a lot of much more skilled jobs pay under $15/hr, or around $15/hr. Will their wages get raised to reflect that or would they all just be paid $15/hr? Because I don't think paramedics will work for the same wage as some stoner flipping burgers.
>>1006575
its showing that the whole "higher minimum wage will lead to higher prices" argument isn't always true
>>1006581
Ok but can you respond to the other problems?
There is quite a few jobs in the US which pay under $15/hr and require a lot more responsibility and skills than flipping burgers. Will their wages be raised to compensate proportionally?
>The BLS reports the median annual salary for EMTs and paramedics was $31,270 in 2013. The best-paid 10 percent in the profession made approximately $54,710, while the lowest-earning 10 percent made approximately $20,420.
I don't think anyone will want to be a paramedic when they realize that they're busting their ass to make as much as some random guy in mcdonalds.
>Minimum wage: $17.29 per hour
So you can work at any Mcdonald's in Australia and be pocketing like $30k/year after taxes?
Am I seeing something wrong? I know the cost of living is higher but if you rent in a small town and are frugal, you can save a lot of money compared to my shithole euro country
>>1006491
They don't accept McDonalds workers as immigrants. Don't even think about it.
>>1006491
No.
You'll be lucky to pull in $10k
I work at Coles while at uni and I'm on track to make about $25k this financial year
But I'm payed at about $24 an hour.
Also maccas workers aren't on $17 an hour
They're on like $12
>>1006491
Maccas mostly employs teenagers which get a % of the minimum wage. You only get the full 17.29 per hour at 21 years old. generally they will employ a fuck load of 16 year olds at $12 an hour and a handful of 20 year olds as managers(which generally worked there from 16)

Reminder that it's a roundabout system that allows the wealthy to "invent" new money for themselves while systematically robbing regular people.

I have interviews now at small investment management groups because I worked customer service at a bank. Except, I just took all work I was given, made a case study about things I sort of knew about and attached it to all of my applications.
When interviewed, I explained my role as a subset of that team. So I pretty much said I was a banker even though I was a teller.

Is there anything illegal with going to thrift stores, taking pictures of certain merchandise, advertising them on craigslist and ebay, then going back to the thrift store to buy said merchandise to resell to interested buyers for a profit? Is there a legal term for what I'm describing?
>>1006088
What happens when it's gone by the time you get back?
Why would it be illegal?
You just run the risk of promising an item and then when you go to get it from the thrift store, its been sold to someone else.
i kinda wonder this myself.
if a store sells something really underpriced could i just simply buy it there and sell it on ebay or whatever?
Is there ever an advantage to not socializing in the workplace? The only time I'd speak to anyone is if I'm spoken too, and 90 percent of the time it's usually work related.
I could start a convo if I wanted to, but I can't bring myself to give a shit about whatever is being discussed. It makes it especially difficult to brown nose my way to the top because I don't care enough to chat with my boss, or even hold a conversation with him.
Do you think the workplace values a person who doesn't talk? I've always heard networking is the key to just about any high paying job.
>Is there ever an advantage to not socializing in the workplace?
If you are a creepy autist and horrible interlocutor it's better for you to shut your mouth.
However, don't expect advancing your career without talking.
>>1006034
Why would not talking be a benefit?
People want to work with actual humans, not /r9k/ betas.
>>1006034

of course not, what are you autistic?
Let's pretend that you met Warren Buffet in one way or another. He gives you the following options:

2. Personal coaching in how to run a business and make money
what do you pick?
Free 1 million obviously.

Depends. How much of his time is he devoting to me? Am I getting a 15 minute meeting or is he going to personally ensure that my business is successful? What happens when I run into roadblocks?
