Be prepared to lose everything you put into it. It is by no means risk free.

Are they a good way to make money? Sure. Are they a good way to lose money? Sure. I personally know people that lost a lot of money and were by no means unintelligent investors.

Also keep in mind that, statistically, you will lose money on penny stocks. Without proper research you're better off to put your money on red in a casino.
