My situation:
>leaves Greece for a 2 week trip to sis on UK
>has a cat
>lives with parent
>parents go to Albania for trip
>take cat with them
>freaks out because mom doesn't call exactly when asked to
>overreacting while acknowledging overreaction
>looking at cat pics and crying
I have thought of every horrible scenario since my parents have never moved my cat somewhere without me they won't know what to do if the cat pukes.. it may escape and get killed in the highway.
besides me being a fag, what do you have to say.

He's definitely running away
Your cat is an Albanian now. Let go.
I'm not sure if this is an appropriate thread for this board, but can anybody tell me a bit about flies and spiders?
>Big fly gets into house
>Annoying piece of shit flies around and I just decide fuck it and take my nap
>Wake up an hour later and notice something on desk
>It's the fly, except it looks "crushed"; completely deflated but it isn't leaking its insect organs and shit or is staining the desk, just dead like somebody turned that fucker 2D
Did a spider kill that fucker and drain it or did the fly just suddenly go "I'm going to fucking die now" and just falls and become near-2 dimensional?
And 2nd question, how do spider bites fuck people up?
>I've been bit by spiders a couple times, no hassle. Even if it breaks flesh barely any pain and a light swelling
>Only 2 dangerous poisonous spiders here in Cali (black widow and brown recluse, and I think the brown recluse's habitat isn't even here so it's like one in a billion to encounter one)
>One day my mom gets "bit" by a spider when she's putting on her gloves
>No visible bite mark or anything and the spider isn't a black widow/brown recluse
>Her hand gets swollen and she's in pain so I take her to ER and her entire arm gets numb, and she's in so much pain she can't make a fist
>Gets better after 4 days.
Was that just because the spider made a barely existent bite and transferred bad bacteria over?
More interested in the first. The fly was on its side rather than facing legs upward, if that matters. I can just assume the 2nd was bacteria or an allergic reaction

>how do spider bites fuck people up?
...Venom?
Different spiders have different types of venom, for example with the ones you listed black widows (and all widows, all Theridiids for that matter as far as I know) produce a type of neurotoxin while brown recluses (which aren't native to California, pick up a fucking map) have necrotic venom.
It also affects different people differently even without taking allergies into account and the spider can inject different amounts of venom. Dry bites where no venom is injected at all are possible.
>>2189821
Yeah, you're right. I was just thinking the brown recluse would be an exotic pest because a lot of people keep talking about them, but a quick google search says that there are absolutely no brown recluses in California.
Rather than asking about the venom, I was thinkin' about why she got such a terrible reaction from a practical non-bite. The spider looked nothing like a black widow, so maybe it was some other poisonous spider and its venom just had a bad effect on her? Like you said, different types of venom and it affects people differently I guess.
>>2189830
There's a reason why symptom lists always include a bunch of different shit that nobody actually experiences all at once. It varies.
There's also the fact that most "spider bites" aren't actually spider bites at all but from what you're saying it looks like you actually saw the spider.
let's help them out /an/

Retards will probably get arrested then destroyed in jail or w.e... and a cat died.
Notbad.

Are they English? Is this the cat from Facebook doing the rounds?
What kind of dog do I have? He just showed up one day in front of my house last year and never left. I've had other dogs before but not this small, and he's the smartest dog I've ever had too. He knows how to follow orders, I can let him outside the house and he'll always come back home and I don't even need to leash him when taking him for a walk.
He's a really picky eater though and still quite skinny
>>2189687
Looks like a chihuahua to me.
Some chihuahua mix I guess. He sorta looks larger than a regular chihuahua.
Scientists have identified the Greenland shark as the world's longest-living vertebrate.
Greenland sharks have been found as old as 512 years, with an average lifespan of 392 ± 120 years.
The species reaches sexual maturity at about 150 years of age.
>some Greenland sharks alive today were alive as early as 1504.
>there are currently sharks that were alive in the times of Christopher Columbus, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Shakespeare, Henry VIII, and Nostradamus.

>there are currently sharks that were alive in the times of Christopher Columbus, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Shakespeare, Henry VIII, and Nostradamus.
I wonder if they got to talk to them.
>>2189663
Yeah next to your moms old ass
Imagine living for half a millennium while being physically incapable of closing your eyes. Researchers aren't sure whether sharks can even really sleep.
Was the 1984 Brigade of Pet Well-Being always there?
By this I mean, how bad was the pro-neuter/anti-outdoor shilling, a few years ago?
>pro neuter shilling
When will summer end?

What kind of hawk is this? It was much smaller than a red tail hawk, about the size of a crow. We got too close to it and it screamed at us. It was pretty high pitched but not exactly that hawk call you hear in movies. I thought maybe copper's hawk but I haven't found a sound clip similar.
I'm in Maine.
I live in the country and have terrible problem with mice and rats. I have had two generations of cats that were really professional predators, and had them bring a young pheasant one day. Now, this third generation of cats doesnt give a fuck about fuck and just shit in flowerpots and sleep all day and then jump all over our roof. They even shit on the roof, I'm not even kidding. They have caught exactly ZERO mice. So I have decided to stop feeding them for a day or two just to see if they'll start hunting, maybe hunger actually perks them up. What do you think? Gonna post this in /out/ also
>>2189422
If it's only for a couple of days, and there are definitely mice available to catch, I don't think it would be too bad. Make those millennial moggies work for once.
>>2189440
Yeah!!
Agreed, you will probably get shit for it on this board but it's worth giving it a shot. If they do catch something make sure to reward them with treats, maybe that way they will start hunting more often.
Just moved into a new house.

This little guy hangs out in our bathroom. Is it dangerous? He just minds his own business and sometimes scares the shit out of people on the toilet but everyones too afraid to squish it and I like him
>>2189268
Looks like a daddy long-legs. Perfectly harmless.
>>2189269
thanks, I wasn't sure because it looked a bit bigger and beefier than ones I was used to seeing
It looks like a cellar spider (daddy-long-leg). Common in the US and most other places, completely non-poisonous to people and most animals. They form irregular webs in various sizes. I get them on occasion too. I personally like waiting until they make their webs to blow/poke them and watch them flip out in a shaking frenzy.

I stumbled across a video on Youtube featuring poachers hunting and clipping the teeth of wild monkeys. While this wasn't incredibly shocking, there were a huge amount of comments from different people praising the hunters and wishing they would do even more horrible things to the monkeys. I looked at some of the related videos and the comments were generally similar. There's even a whole playlist full of videos about people torturing, harassing or abusing monkeys.
Is this level an animosity toward monkeys common in 3rd world shitholes? I know they can be pests but I've never seen this much hatred for any other animal except maybe coyotes.
They are a horrible combination of violent and clever. You remember the baboon-eats-antelope-baby-alive.webm? Imagine a gang of slight smaller ones that fling feces, shriek while running back and forth on your roof all night, rapes your pet dog then eats it, and is smart enough to open/break open doors, windows, and gates.
And to think people complain about outdoor cats.
>>2189157
To be fair we have pests that act just like that here in the states. They're usually found in larger cities however, and they don't cross the roads so much as block them.
>>2189138
Projection.
So my brother has two Russian tortoises that he doesn't care for at all (so I end up feeding them), and in the past few months they've been really sluggish and don't move off their heat rock, and I haven't seen them eat in a while.
Solution?
>>2189061
Kill your brother and take his tortoises from him.
>>2189063
Nah

>heatrocks for tortoises
>heatrocks in general
this is hopefully b8
if not, please post a pic of how the poor animals are "housed"
Also, give the tortoises to someone responsible please
