Would you say that a watermelon without seeds is a cucked watermelon?

I mean, it can't reproduce itself, and it watches other watermelon reproduce in front of itself. It's a cuck.

Guys may i ask y'all a favor and help on how to remove (treat) ticks and tick bite rashes on dogs please?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2188040
There are tools made specifically to remove ticks. Get one.
Rashes, go to vet.
>>
>>2188040
I found a tick on my dog's ear and just pulled it out with a pair of tweezers. It's important to make sure that you get the head out as well, and to rub the affected area with rubbing alcohol or peroxide afterwards. Also, kill the tick by dropping it in a container of alcohol. If it's a bad infestation on your dog or if he seems under the weather afterwards, make a trip to the vet.

I lost two hermits recently and now the last one (who I've had for about five years now) is on his own. Can I bring him for closely supervised walks outside in the backyard or do I need to worry about spiders, ants, parasites, etc. I love in Nothereastern New England if that makes any difference and it very hot here right now.

You really shouldnt be taking him out of his tank period. If youre on facebook join the group Hermit Crab Owners for proper care information.

Usually taking any small creature outdoors is a bad idea. Causes more stress than good. They are open for attack from predators like birds, foxes, raccoons or whatever. Of course they're fine with you around, but they don't know that.

Also, yeah. Catching something a sickness possibility.

I'd like to broach the topic of Greyhound racing with /an/. I have heard recently that it has been banned in parts of Australia. What do you guys think of this?

Personally, me and my gf own several rescues and keep in contact with several breeders/racers, and we find this ban fucking offensive.

Almost every single person in the industry treats their animals better than just about every dipshit homeowner. They are well trained, loved, vetted and excercised.

Yes, there are a small amount of douchebags who treat animals badly, that's hardly fucking breaking news is it?

These kinds of bans will effectively genetically kill off an ancient and noble dog breed. Without people breeding them for racing, the puppy mill human waste will take over and ruin the breed within a decade.

If these people claim to care about animals then why not ban puppy mills?

Also people piss and moan about live baiting, but we are allowed to hunt and torture animals and no one gives a fuck? But when dogs do it it's literally fucking Satan even though animals attack each other in the wild all the time.

Tldr; fuck retards who ban racing.

Because most people neglect their dogs, most people don't do research and most people don't know the first thing about dog racing.

Banning something they know nothing about makes them feel like they're helping the animals they love, but don't love enough to take away commodities like puppy mills.
How easy would it be to restrict racing? make it so racers can only own a certain amount of animals, have a vet check them twice a year etc? but no, just ban the whole thing. On the mean time, I don't know of a single place on earth that has a law that demands dogs not be kept in tiny cages.

I'm not crazy about live bating, but if I had a choice between banning live bating or banning puppy mills, I'd fucking ban puppy mills. That's a difference between a few hundred animals being tortured and a few million.
>>
>>2187811
>but we are allowed to ... torture animals and no one gives a fuck

wut
>>
When the dogs are treated well i have no issue with racing. Greyhounds love racing.

I know sometimes there are shitty people involved with racing but that's more a matter of proper oversight than a problem with racing in general.

It surprises me how people can even make something innocent as cat videos come across as a tryhard attempt to get attention. Like what the fuck is even with that nipple sucking? Why is there a cat scratching his bawws and there is a frame of another cat with wide eyes? How is that funny? Jesus fuck dude, the person who made that lacks some serious self awareness.

Alright I have looked seemingly everywhere, and I give up.
Does anyone know where I can get a full definitive list of what animals are illegal in washington? (and if possible also specifically in King county?)

Trying to figure out if I can have a crested porcupine, but I'm only seeing seemingly incomplete mammal lists and lists of exclusively aquatic animals.

Oops thanks! I think I was googling it using stupid terms or something, I dunno.

Can anyone find anything for washington as a whole? I've looked over their website multiple times and it is all based around aquatic stuff being illegal, and I know that can't be it.

Do they not have cameras in Norway? Did you take those pictures with a fucking codfish?

Judging by the body shape and legs they're orbweavers even though it makes no sense that they'd be inside your house, but I can't tell you more than that.

Looks like a band-legged blurred recluse.

What does /an/ think of having dogs in apartments?

I'm going to be living alone for the first time soon and I have my eyes set on a Great Pyrenees. I work from home, I don't travel, I have a reliable dog sitter, I go hiking every week and running twice a day. If I have to take the dog out every hour for the rest of it's life there, I'd be happy to. Thing is, I can either rent a house with a fenced yard in an absolute fucking ghetto or I can get a decent apartment somewhere safe.

I can see how something like a husky or dalmatian would suffer in a small space, but I just don't see a lot of convincing arguments as to why Pyrs would suffer in a small space.
Also, dogs in apartments in general. What do you think are the best breeds to keep in an apartment? Is it really cool to keep any dog in one as long as the dog is small? To what degree is the stigma around keeping dogs in apartments based around the assumption that the dog will be eventually neglected?

>I can see how something like a husky or dalmatian would suffer in a small space
why? if you get them enough exercise they should be fine. my dal usually sticks to one room when she's alone. with large and giant dogs you have to worry about them knocking shit over in the confined space of an apartment.
>>
>>2187512
I'll trust your judgement, I've just known some pretty hyper spotted puppers, but never had one.

I don't mind my dog knocking over shit or barking. That's between me and my landlord/my furniture, I just want my future dog to be happy.

I have a border collie and I live in an apartment. She does just fine.

I have seen this bug before. I think it has 4 leags 2 by the side and 2 in front, like in a rest posture idk. It's gris and black, it's has a sting curved to hi the centre of his body, like a scorpion. I have searched it by describing the shape of his body but nothing came up. Any idea of what is this?

So my dog (a Pomeranian) likes to eat: Carrots, cooked carrots, peas, sweetcorn, green beans cooked, mashed potato and many more non-meat things. If you tell me dogs aren't omnivores, then i'll not know what to say to you.

My grandmother's dog used to get more excited over leftover vegetables from dinner than meat or actual dog food, so it's safe to say they really are omnivores.

It's okay to talk about fictional stuff on /an/, right? What xenofiction material do you like? Dislike?

I've recently gotten into Seekers (which is about bears) and Warriors (which is about cats). I always thought Warriors was embarrassing but it's not so bad as the fandom makes it seem. I picked up Bambi but I haven't gotten the chance to read it.

I don't really like how xenofiction books have something against neutering. The writers likely don't but the animals do. Animals irl don't care, and I doubt they should in xenofiction either.

I love Warriors so much holy shit. I stopped reading after power of three, though. Just became disinterested. The OG 1st series is beyond dope, though. I haven't actually read any of the books in years, afraid that they dont hold up. Which book are you on?

A few of Jack London's stories about the Klondike gold rush are told from the pov of a dog. I haven't read them since I was in school, but I really enjoyed To Build a Fire.

Raptor Red is also a good read if you're into dinosaurs.
