Going to be getting an apartment soon and wanted a cat, but can't decide to get male or female.

If you're getting them altered, it really doesn't matter at all.

altered?

Neutered, spayed, desexed.

All the hormones that cause any sort of behavioral change will be long gone after that. So it'll act the same whether male or female.

Just get a cat, they aren't important.
>>
>>2192275
Can you go into more detail? As for me in know I'm extremely nitpicky when it comes to certain things. I've been trying to train the family cat (whom I never even wanted to begin with) to not jump on the table or up by my electronics for about two years now, without success.

So yeah after a long days work when the cat keeps jumping up by the TV or sitting on my ps4 I'm really not in the mood and usually have to restrain myself from smacking it. The worst part is its so fucking dumb and happy that it has no idea the grief it causes me.

50/50 mix of people who truly care for animals and brain dead faggots who need something to yell about so they feel important. I'm all for testing medicine and stuff that is largely beneficial to the human race as a whole but does the world really need any more new cosmetics?
>>
>>2192184
my problem with this is: why dont we use willing human volunteers instead?

of course the family could sue or whatever but they could sign waivers, or get paid or something. seriously i dont get the point, plenty of people are probably fully willing to try things for science.

why do we have to use animals who 100% without a doubt don't want to test things for human safety? seems ineffective anyway
>>
>>2192211
Why even ask for human volunteers? Why not just use death row inmates instead?

Why do we have to use brave people instead of criminals who 100% without a doubt are not fit to be in society?

>I miss and it lands behind my leg somewhere
>can't fucking find it anywhere
>check the mirror

That was a big spider, don't want it to bite something it shouldn't

>grab some paper and try to crush it
Just because your human instincts tell you it's a scary spider, that doesn't mean you have to listen and act on those instincts. Spiders won't care about you unless you're posing a threat to them.

Next time take a cup, catch the spider in the cup, and let it out outside. You'll have greater success despidering your house that way than by panicking and swatting at them with newspapers.
>>
>>2192074
doesn't mean I don't either
I'm not interrupting my shit to run some puny non-sentient collection of impulses outside because killing it might hurt some dork's feelings
>>
>>2192087
Kinda hard to imply the other guy is a pussy when you're afraid of spiders, mate.

Just forget about it. Like spiderman said, it'll probably run to a corner of your ceiling and mind it's own business until it dies and you won't ever hear from it again.

It used to be my favorite breed but I looked it up in the AKC and it isn't registered. I thought it was a historical American breed. How can it not be registered? They have Staffordshire Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers but not APBT. Petey from Our Gang is listed as one of those when I always thought he was an APBT.

Is it's name a problem? But English and American Bulldogs are allowed.

American bulldogs aren't recognized by AKC either.
>>
>>2191862

Really? I never checked but assumed they were.
>>
AKC calls them American Staffordshire Terriers, whereas the UKC calls then American Pit Bull Terriers. Effectively the same dog, just different standards across different kennel clubs.

What are some animals associated with rich or high-class people?

For some reason dogs like Saluki, Afghan Hounds, Standard Poodles, and Greyhounds are seen as upper class. I don't get it. I know Greyhounds and Poodles are just big dorks. Sphynx's are another breed I know of that fits the bill. They're so cute but pretty much impossible to find in shelters.

because they're expensive?
large dogs are generally high class because they cost more.

Hey /an/imals, I'm in the market for a new litter box and money is no object. I was wondering if you all had any experience with the fancy litter boxes that will hopefully reduce the amount of effort I need to spend to clean up after my two cats.

Putting your cat at risk for FIV, car accidents, or being eaten by larger animals isn't worth not having to pick up poop.

My amanos are pregnant right now. would I be able to use a 1 gallon as a hatchery? Don't really feel like using anything bigger right now.
>>
>>2191438
You could, but of course bigger water volume makes for more stable water conditions.

I also found this video very helpful:

Well I'm not interested in breeding them, but I think trying to raise the fry would be interesting. But I think I'll just let them lay the eggs in the tank their in now. I know the fry won't live but I'm okay with that.
