Anyone know what kind of stooge this is?
Brown recluse
>>2208981
With all of my accumulated knowledge about spiders, as researcher and a collector.
I can say with total confidence that is not a brown recluse.
You are safe OP.
What's the best gun dog?
Go ahead, I'll wait.

I dont fully disagree with you, but wirehairs are objectively better.
What is this spider? This little guy is on my patio. Tried googling its traits but there are too many spiders. I'm in North Florida.

Here's the top

Thank you for your contribution
>>2208850
Not sure, but it's definitly some kind of orb weaver.
Buggay >>2208853
probably mistook it for a cross spider, but it doesn't have the iconic cross, and the colour is wrong.
My puppy keeps me active
I lost 20 pounds from just caring for this puppy and we don't even take walks (yet).
He forces me to wake up at 7AM and sleep before 12. By providing him structure, I provided myself structure.
He taught me to be calm and assertive in all facets of life.
>I'm fat and insane. Call me son of Sam.
Reply to this post or this will happen to you doge
I want a dog but my landlord would probably eat it when I wasn't looking.
BackdoorfrogAnon here...
I'm up to 3 confirmed frogs now and I'm suspecting there is a fourth. They are running out of room and are starting to sleep outside the hole and just around it. They only retreated back in when I tried to get a picture
can't you build a frog house on a stand?
>>2208786
Ya I'd say its time to build an addition.
Biggest thing on a frog house is to not have a "lip" at the bottom of the doorway. They prefer a flush entrance.
My house has fleas bad. I recently got a place with my gf and we got a cat. Now their's fucking fleas everywhere. I've tried flea medicine, flea collar, flea bath, and flea comb on my cat but these fuckers are here to stay.
I got some flea bombs but I've been waiting to use them as a last resort. Today is my last day off before my classes start. I'm ready to give these little cocksuckers on last battle.
What do I do /an/?
Recently had a bad problem with fleas in my house as well. As long as your animal is treated, I found that a carpet powder called "Enforcer Flea Powder" worked well...
Spread all throughout my house's carpet, let it sit for several hours, washed and dried my bedding... then vacuum it up. Also, vacuum Daily for about a week afterwards to get any stragglers.
>>2208752
Was considering going out and getting something like this today. They're definitely in my carpet considering I feel them jumping on my legs as I type this.
>>2208754
That particular brand is pretty effective... doesn't smell too bad either like most others. Believe me, I know what you're goin through... these little faggots are annoying.
Like I said, do 1 or maybe 2 total carpet coverages with the powder, vacuum it up a few hours later and continue to vacuum for a week.
Today's a good day for all the panda lovers. The population of Giant Pandas has increased by 17% over the last decade and are now considered vulnerable instead of endangered.

Good to know OP
my question is how these fat fucks ever survived in the wild when it seems like they breed once every century and sit around and eat all day?
>>2208733
With the amount of attention put into them I would expect no other result.
Many animals have been extinguished by humans during history: some due to hunting for food, their skins or other reasons. With humans being conscious of what "biodiversity" is and without it. Also by destruction of habitats and the unstoppable idea of making us a comfy spot.
But there's a group of people, where I am included, that is somehow different: animal lovers and keepers, /herp/.to be exact.
I'm not talking just about illegal hunting and black market. You can easily export legally a box full of wild caught animals from almost any african country. Almost the same for south-east Asia and some south american countries.
The ratio of survival with those animals is really low. It's not rare that you need to take 30 or 40 animals from the wild to have 3 or 4 survivors. And there's no control over it. No control of animals population is being done. People just keep buying boxes with 40 adult Bitis, with mambas, with any kind of animal from any part of the world that have been extracted directly from the wild without any control. Just 10 exports from Ivory Coast, let's say, means almost 500 snakes took out of the wild. Everything is legal, but no control is being done over it. People say that is legal so they don't have to think about it, but why wouldn't it be legal in countries like Namibia or Pakistan? Do they think anyone is having some kind of control.
Indian king cobras are not in the market and just the destruction of their habitat is leading them to exctintion. What is happening then to those animals that are usually on the market? They're facing both threads.
Is /herp/ the first animal lover human group who is actually going to exctint animals?
Also, before any >muh CB, don't forget that behind every CB animal there's a WC.
>>2208658
CB prevents an extinction event and provides a gene pool for repopulation once humans get their shit together.
These third world country's burn down forests to create farmland, that won't stop. Snakes are lucky they're in the pet trade, that's their only saving grace. Unfortunately countless other species are not as lucky.
>>2208658
I'm wondering what inherent value there is in keeping certain species in existence
I understand that the ecosystem depends on some species, but not necessarily others. I also don't think it's inherently immoral to drive a species to extinction through a loss of habitat, though if you're deliberately killing them outright that's a different story. It's important to consider the full picture, that humans can/will flourish more with a larger "habitat", and it seems to come down to "do I think animal life is more or equally important than human life", and if you answer yes, I'm curious to know why

Let's face reality here.
Tarantula extracting from Chile it's done in the dessert. Nothing has changed in the dessert, no deforestation, no polution, it's just the pet trade that's reducing the tarantula population.
The introduction of rare especies plus the irrational fear of said animals, will extinct them.
It's not your love of animals the problem, it's the mentality that everything should have a price.
And you should be able to buy everything you have the money for.
I have an akita and I took care of him since he was a puppy (he's 3 now)
by the time he was 2, I left to do an exchange student program and stayed there for 1 year. when I came back, I thought my dog would go nuts when he saw me, but he just treated me just as if I was gone for work for 1 day, maybe even a bit colder.
that hurt me so bad. while I was gone I felt so guilty he could be feeling lonely (my parents were here taking care of him), and I would think of him all the time. but apparently he gave zero shits. it not only hurt but it also made me like him less. I'm considering getting a second dog or a cat. I got an akita before him who acted pretty similarly though. So I don't know if it is the breed or if I have no fucking idea on how to bond with an animal. Am I acting childishly?
>>2208628
I don't know, I have don't have pets but I've thought that those reunions that you see in YouTube are something special that they can consider lucky to have.
Maybe the dog bonded more with your parents, and that's just how it did go.
Maybe you're just not very likable, ever though about that?
well you should
>>2208628
You really fucking need to grow a pair if you need a dog to vindicate your existence.
>get the fuck over it
Would you club a baby seal?
how much will you pay me?
>>2208568
If me or someone else was going to eat it then I'd club a bunch of them. Assuming they are breeding in proper numbers and are well established in whatever ecosystem they're inhabiting
I'd go clubbing with a baby seal.
Any retic keepers on ? Let's see your animals .

That's a Rhodesian Ridgeback OP. Very docile species.
Hey /an/, any ideas what this might be? It's been growing out of a rock wall in my yard for two years. I've tried a few dichotomous keys but no luck. If it helps, I'm in Illinois. It may be a weed that presents as a tree... More pictures to come.
Hey /an/, this is my first post here but tonight something crazy happened: me and my gf are at our friends place. My gf is on the balcony (5th floor) and suddenly she sees some box falling down right in front of her. The box falls down on the street and suddenly she sees something crawling out of the box. Turns out it's a little kitten, very much like pic related. We run down pick the poor thing up. We can't tell where the box came from, all other flats have their lights turned off. So we take the kitten to our friends place and checked that it's alright. So far everything seems okay, it just seemed a bit confused.
Since our friends already have two cats, we decided to take it to our place. Here's the problem: we also already have an old cat who usually doesn't get along with other cats or strangers in general. We decided to sleep in different rooms tonight, each of us with one cat. But what are we supposed to do from here on? We'd like to keep the new one but also wouldn't mind looking for a new owner.
Did he land on his feet?
>>2208253
Kill the pest.
There are tons upon tons of guides on introducing a new cat to a resident cat. I won't repeat it here as you can find it with a simple Google search. Anything that tells you to keep them separated for a time and feed them on opposite sides of a slightly ajar door are on the right path.
I will say that introducing a young kitten to an old cat is much, much easier. Resident cats will tolerate a new kitten much faster than an adult cat.
If you have the income, you can look into Feliway. Good product, but a bit pricey.
So i've got this tank that I used to have fish in before they all died when my pump when haywire, and I was thinking of getting a different pet to store in here.
What sort of animal/fish/thing would go well here?
>>2208241
>pet to store in here
>all died when my pump when haywire
>doesn't give tank volume
Maybe it's best you don't keep pets, anon
tarantula/scorpion, youd kill snakes maybe
