Dog's at terminal stage in a tumor-related illness, is hyperventilating and somewhat catatonic, she's a 12 years old mutt (yorkshire-spinone) but my mother still objects to taking her to the vet to be checked and put down.
I'd rather take her right now (11 PM here) but she'd rather let her sleep one last time at home instead, and if she survives the night and didn't miracolously get better, then take her in the morning.
She's already passed out three times in the last two days (she recovered without needing CPR)
Should I just take her myself right now or wait for tomorrow and maybe go with the whole family? She's not in evident pain, but it's still terrible to me.

>can somebody make me feel justified for disobeying my mom to take care of our dog because I'm too much of a spineless faggot to just suck it up do what needs to be done?
>>2208230
My decision was made the second I started the thread, and that is to wait tomorrow
She's still able to walk on her own, even if she looks extremely confused and roams the house, stopping for a while and then slouching down, then getting up again.
It really doesn't matter anymore
>>2208237
>My decision was made the second I started the thread, and that is to wait tomorrow
Then why did you even bother making this thread?
It sucks you probably have to put your dog down, but it's just part of owning a dog.
How do you pronounce "cetacean"?
I keep reading the word in books and articles, but never actually hear it said in documentaries and stuff.

look it up on youtube
I found this bug/larva bro in my hedgehog's food dish and would like to find out what it is and if I should be concerned if she ate one. I cleaned the whole cage after finding it but couldn't find anymore and she was asleep when I found it.
Hedgehog for interest
dermestid larva. check the food, not the cage
>>2208218
Cool I'll double check the storage bin I keep the dry food in, thank you!
What are some good names for a doberman ?
>>2208153
nigger-dog?
Thanks, anon.
>>2208153
Probably not original, but a name should mean something.
Raubtier, Robby for short.
A swedish metal band that wrote a song about the breed's loyalty.

Any advice? (Land snail btw)
>>2208147
they're really messy. the tank is impossible to keep clean.
>>2208147
Give them a good source of calcium, give them fresh green veggies every day, dont forget a source of protein and keep them moist and warm
>>2208169
Thanks. What are some calcium and protein examples I could give them? Meat and milk wouldn't work, would they? Thanks in advance.
I'm thinking of getting a toadie. Does anyone here have experience with this breed? Do they make good guard dogs, and are there any health issues associated with them?
http://www.toadline.com/HOME.html
>>2207935
I can tell you just by looking at them; joint and bone issues, breathing issues.
>>2207940
I googled "bully health problems' for the fuck of it and this was the second link, about that line specifically
>http://3milliondogs.com/dogbook/toadline-exotic-bullies-inbreeding-as-abuse/
What the fuck is wrong with my fish /an/? One it's pretty big, healthy, and colorful, the other one is pretty pale and I suspect he's blind, still, they both move pretty well and are 6 years old
>>2207933
I'm afraid to ask... but... what size is that tank (gallons)?
>>2207933
From the look it may seem ur goldfish has a cataract. Meaning its probably going blind in the eye. Don't worry goldfish have great sense of smell and can still feed being blind
OP what the fuck are you keeping them in
Please let this be a troll
Guys, I came back home after a month and i found my plant like this. Is there something I can try to make it live again? Thanks
>>2207927
it's dead, Jim
It was bitten by a brown recluse.
It's dead, op.
>>2207927
Anything that can be done will take time. Remember to treat it like a sick cactus, not a sick ivy. The urge to over-treat it will be natural but you have to resist.
It may survive with some soft TLC. Good luck.
Should i be afraid, /an/? I'm getting my bathroom renovated and since the light fixtures have been taken down out of the ceiling these guys have been out in force lately.
They tend to either hang in place from one string of web or to just bunch up in a corner--seemingly doing nothing.
Another pic
Found this guy last night just chilling out on my porch, near the light. I've never seen one quite like this one before. Figured some of you might be interested, or might know more about it, such as species etc. If not, one may simply enjoy the beauty of nature's camouflage artists at work.
ITT: Pretty bugs?
>>2207908
Also, southcentral Alaska if anyone is curious as to the location.
Ochropleura
uneducated guess
>>2207913
Anchorage?
I haven't seen anything but geese and grasshoppers lately
Hi /an/ons. I found this little bugger on my patio floor. Anyone recognize it's species?
>>2207898
Here's another pic
Pic of the underside and a location or it's a Brown Recluse...
>>2207901
I don't have underside. I'm in argentina, in a coastal city
This little shit is skittering around in my roof - what the fuck is it exactly ? A weasel ?
>>2207842
Yes that's a weasel
>>2207842
Fuckin opossum. Get urself a good pellet gun
>>2207852
Are you fucking blind.
Who else /up at sunrise to see birds/ here? 6:14 right now, just waiting for it to get a little more light. I hope I see some good stuff.
What are some cool new or rare animals you've seen recently?
>>2207818
where do you go for birdwatching?
>>2207818
When delivering newspapers this morning, I saw a bird of prey(probably a goshawk) attacking a pigeon(still not sure which kind, but probably a feral). When it saw me, it let go of the pigeon and flew away. The pigeon jumped into a bush, where it remained when I returned after my route was finished, so I guess the bird of prey gave up on it. Still not sure whether it recovered from its wounds, though.
>>2207818
I saw 2 american bitterns within 15 min of each other. Considering it had been years since i had seen one i was surprised.
What does /an/ think of crate training?
>>2207719
Doesn't like it. Don't do it
>>2207719
I tried it a few times, but came to the conclusion that crates aren't very trainable
they are more like a cat, nice to look at, but otherwise good for nothing
crates are a lot less destructive and far less dangerous than cats if handled right
Only done it once but she took well to it, learned to potty and now sees the crate as her own doggy room.
>no need to be upset. it's just a dog, you can get another one
Why don't people shut their fucking mouths if they're going to say something so stupid?
>>2207718
Because to that type of people, all dogs really are just the same interchangeable balls of fluff.
>>2207718
I had a boss once saying that and i had to hold myself to not punch him and leave. He said it the day i lost my husky sister.
