Can we get a "Coolest Gundam" thread?
Goufs are love
Had a rough day. Toy feels thread? What stories do you have? This is one of mine.

A weird thing happened to me.
Traded with someone SW figures, but they didn't get back to me because a friend died. Eventually they did.
A guy on Ebay didn't respond for a few days and it's because someone in his family died.
Am I cursed?
>>6268693
>A guy on Ebay didn't respond for a few days and it's because someone in his family died.
>Am I cursed?
Nope, you're just naive.
>>6268693
Someone's always conveniently "dead" if they're a late with the shipping
A guy pulled that one on me twice, probably forgot he had done it before
Somehow you have been willed through some odd circumstance $2M. The catch is that you yourself can't use the money for anything other than starting a line of toys based on a franchise or theme not being done at all or much (eg- articulated dinosaurs at Figma-level articulation, etc). Your first wave is to consist of 5 individual figures and one vehicle/BAF. You get the first production-level set all to yourself as well as first dibs on the complete sets of any further waves should your first one be successful.
What's your toyline and its first wave?
A-Team, 1980s A-Team, would be incredible.
Also in the running would be Lina, Gourry, Amelia, Zelgadis, Sylphiel, and Xellos as the BAF. I'd much rather have 7 slots, to do those 6 plus Rezzo with Shabranigdo as the BAF, though.
Is this something that's got to make a profit, or can it be a niche/vanity project?
>>6266677
Gen 13 team (Fairchild, Grunge, Freefall, Rainmaker, Burnout) with BAF Lynch. '90s nostalgia, someone that hasn't been produced a hundred times, J Scott Campbell and Jim Lee connection plus being a classic Image Wildstorm property before DC shit it all up.
Are they good? I keep seeing this brand when looking at Marvel and other stuff, they're always cheap and have cool characters, I keep feeling there has to be a catch
7 inch figures, articulation isn't as good sometimes
>>6261541
their venom's sculpt in my opinion is phenomenal but it lacks ankle rockers which really limits posing options.
>>6261541
This. Their larger characters are really good though; think Juggernaut, rhino, destroyer.
Does anyone remember when there were toys in cereal boxes and fruit snacks? If so, post your favorites!
I'll start: Shark Bites glow in the dark Great White
>>6249534
Oh man, I remember these. I think I had the green shark.
They still have them, but not nearly as often
these were pretty good
>>6249534
Those remind me of Crazy Bones
What is the best (and affordable) Thanos action figure?
Probably the Marvel select which you can probably grab over on amazon for around $20.
>>6285765
This. The select is pretty good, especially for the price.
>>6285776
Confirming. The articulation is decent, the sculpt is solid, and he still fits in with legends figures.
What are your thoughts on the trailer? On Quintessa? I'm curious how Prime became evil...oh wait....he got laid.
>>6283495
I loved the trailer and Thank God! Finally we'll get an actual OP-Meg fight!
>>6283495
> I'm curious how Prime became evil...oh wait....he got laid.
same thing with Toretto.
Looks good, I like it, but I also liked AoE and parts of DotM, so you might be hesitant to trust me. Anyway, I think these movies have been improving
Hey /toy/ I'm looking to do my first trade with someone online soon with BAF pieces from the OG Marvel Legends line and I was looking for some tips on how to not fuck myself over. Got any advice on this sort of thing?
>>6282872
Go to a forum with namefags, and only trade with well established namefags in the community. Less chance of fucking you over if they have 2000 posts and a rep invested into the community. Here on the BST you'd be a fucking retard to trade.
>>6282878
It's on a forum of namefags, but their post history is non-existent other than contacting me about the BAF part being for sale. Should I just walk away?
>>6282883
Yes, walk away. What's the difference at that point between them and some random anon here in terms of protection? There is none.
>SDCC exclusive
Oh let me guess we get the one without the FULL FARMING GEAR
>One
>Nothing wrong with me
>Two
They just make it easier and easier to not even bother with the Black Series
>>6282230
Is this for your, dare I say it, space opera collection?
>>6282230
Do we ever see that gear on screen? He looks like Qui-gon to me
Nice blogpost

The poncho, yes, the hat, in the deleted scenes.

Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search ζ¦θ£ η₯姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if youβre not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

1/12 clothes like Picco Neemo fit these, but they tend to be loose or baggy.

anyone have this guy?
is he worth it?
>>6279666
>anyone have this guy?
ya
>is he worth it?
steep sale only. it's good but has sentinels 'fuck the consumer' pricing
He's fuck huge, heavy as hell, has poseability out the ass, comes with a shitload of accessories and has a really nice stand.
He's also fucking pricey. If you like messing around with your toys a lot, I think he's worth it just for the hand feel and all the shit you can do with him. If you mostly just display your stuff and leave it alone, well, you could probably use that money elsewhere.
>>6280751
That's what I don't get about Sentinel, they seem like this large enough company yet they charge as if they're a smaller manufacturer.
I could be totally wrong though. Maybe they actually are that small and they have high prices to cover license costs.
So what's up with these third-party Transformer toys? Are they essentially super high quality bootlegs?
Pretty much. Though often the engineering and design work is 100% new. They just operate in a legal grey area where they don't have the actual character names or symbols, but are based on a character's likeness. Not much Hasbro or Takara can do about that, for now at least. Especially since most of them are in China, which doesn't give a single flying fuck about that shit anyways.
>>6279656
They're not bootlegs, as bootlegs would require them to steal or acquire molds and then just print their own figures out from them. Their engineering is new, so they're figures in their own right.
They're IP theft if anything, but I doubt anyone gives a single shit about that. And some are really high quality, others...Well, this is why reviews exist. If you've got any questions, look for the 3P threads that pop up. A lot of figures are great, some are pure shit, but it's always best to ask around and get reviews on stuff for 3P things, especially since they cost so damn much per figure.
>>6279656
I don't think you know the difference between Turd Party Trans and Bootleg Trans
I've been eyeing these mini 4wd things for a while. I like silly looking anime cars, and I like customizing stuff, so something that combines the two is right up my alley. Has anybody on /toy/ ever messed with them?
>>6278107
I had a bootleg of one.
>>6278107
Played with them when they were a 90s trend, then had another go last year. They're collecting dust now since there isn't a track near where I currently live.
>>6282030
Does half of the doodads on that even do anything or what.
Do you have the power /toy/?
One Day I will have the Power of Grayskull He-Man! I SWEAR IT! NYEEH!
>>6277428
That ain't Figuarts level of articulation, me bucko
>>6277428
This is the Super7 one, right? Are those the same legs as the Mattel one? I don't own it, but I also don't recall Mattel He-Man skipping leg day.
