Always been a hardcore LEGO fanatic but have the knock-offs gotten that good? The prices that LEGO wants is crazy for some of the bigger sets where the LEPIN and LELE sets are so much less. Thoughts??? Comments? Anyone have any experience with these knockoffs lately?
>>6182616
I want a few of the retired modulars in Lepin but thats all. I generally shoplift small sets/polybags and do exchanges at the lego store for big sets. I think out of the 5 modulars I have I paid probably 40 bucks.
>>6182824
Yea the modulars are nice but really expensive. Why would you get Lepin. For the savings?? Every retired set is available if you truly wanted LEGO.
**Also**
You would have to lift quite a bit of poly product (and return it without anyone catching on) for you to be able to do that. That's like $800 worth! LEGO stores have security cameras.
I'm not saying it's impossible but more likely improbable that you'd get (5) $150+ modulars for $40 with the rest made up from poly returns.
>>6182848
The lepin town center alone is like 60-100 bucks vs 450 for lego.
I steal from random places (walmart etc). A handful of polybags is like 24 dollars worth of lego.
What transformers would make great body donors for titan masters?

For those that have a TR Kup already. I kind of like the toy from what I've seen, but the TM head looks like crap to me. What TM would you suggest to replace the one he includes?
>>6280706
How about you don't buy TR Kup to begin with and just buy the Legends one instead.
It pays not to be a Hasbrocuck.
Let's discuss nuggety Disney characters, /toy/. Anybody keep up with these cute collectibles?
Last thread died because of a broken OP pic.

any of you like webkinz? im a huge fan of their plush line but they got rid of the only good lines they had and they're going down hill now. they're called webkinz signatures and they look really nice and they sell up to 100 bucks now and they don't even sell them on the webkinz shop online.
can we like, all just message webkinz support team and tell them to bring them back? i cant be the only one who loved these and was sad to see them go in 2013...
i got some of their figures at the 99c store. they ok
which one is best for you-know-what
>>6276353
I had a ton of these when I was a kid. Even had some of the clothes. As an adult now, I'm more of a build-a-bear kind of fag
Since I don't see a Chogokin thread right now, I figure I'll just throw this out there since I know this figure is pretty popular on /toy/ so someone might be able to help.
Years back, I bought the SoC Big O (GX-48) as my firsy foray into more expensive super robot toys. I've treated it well and it's still in great condition, but the hip joints seem to have become completely fucked up due to its topheaviness to the point where it can stand, but will just tip all the way back or forth without support.
Opening it up, I found that the legs are not attached to the hips via ratchets, but are connected to and swivel at the hip around these flimsy, hollow metal pegs. I tried expanding the pegs with a screwdrive and pushing them back in, but it was just as loose.
Has anyone else had problems with this and actually opened the hip cavity to see this shit? The engineering makes no sense to me and I have no idea how to fix it. I don't have pictures of the joints right now but I can post them later if anyone wants to see how fucked the design is
>>6275842
I can't really help because I own the Max Gokin one instead of the GX-48, but as someone who owns several SoCs you have my curiosity.
>I found that the legs are not attached to the hips via ratchets
That sure is a design fuck up on Bandai's part, figures with heavy limbs should always have ratchets to prevent floppiness.
I also had problems with a SoC hips, the only one I own without ratchets in there is the GX-49 Shin Mazinger and it has a faulty hip because the screw that holds together the joint has no strength, I dissassembled the thing and noticed that the screw hole is stripped.
>I don't have pictures of the joints right now but I can post them later if anyone wants to see how fucked the design is
I'm interested to see how it works, and maybe some anon can give you advice if he sees how the thing is assembled.
>>6275842
I'm curious to see pictures if you get the time. I have Big O as well (though he's currently in the box) so I'm wondering if mine could have issues down the road.
Have you tried coating the pegs in something like Pledge? I have no idea if that would work for something like this.
>>6275842
That's an interesting problem. Here I was concerned about the rubber parts degrading, but if there's an engineering flaw I'll have to keep a closer eye on mine.
As for mine, there doesn't seem to be any hip issues yet, but I haven't really done much with him. I played around with him for a bit when I first got him, but after that he's just been in a display case with all my other Big O stuff.
I wonder if any other SoC's have the same joint system. Would it be possible to swap it with a tighter one from a different figure?
I found two of these big ass speeder bikes at Ross for $6 a piece. They suck but at that price why not buy em? My idea was to put them in my backyard on some kind of stand. Will the direct sunlight mess them up? I live in the mountains of NC and we get highs over 90 degrees during the summer. Is there something I can spray on them to protect them from fading and or melting?
>>6281133
Whoa, you shop at ROSS?
>>6281154
I go there to look for cheap toys every now and then. I got a good deal on a dog bed yesterday.
>>6281133
Don't let the lamestream media tell you different...the sun is awful and will destroy everything you own, including your skin, up.
Stay away from it and keep your toys away from it too, ESPECIALLY WHITE TOYS.
Hey guys, noob question here.
What are the best sites to purchase collectible figures, primary things by NECA and other collectibles found in the US? All I know about are BBTS and ToyWiz, and I've herd that ToyWiz is run by scalpers or some shit.
What are my options, /toy/?
>pic unrelated
Always good to check Amazon, but you're probably good to stick with BBTS.
>>6280502
You can get your big bad ass toys from Big Bad Toy Store dot com, link in the description belowwww

Target. They've been getting in new shipments of this wave lately.
Target, they have this wave out in stock, I actually picked up rocket and gimora yesterday

Target, saw Gamora there but didn't get her.
Hey my girlfriend received these from her mother and I didn't think they were special until I saw one piece was marked 'Japan'. If anyone could help me identify these items and their estimated value I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
So I got a Mario plush recently, but the M is orange, thoughts? More pics in thread.

Awww shit i had a bunch of those, i think theyre still in my parents basement....
I had this one, and the imperial academy playset. fun times, mang.
Action Fleet is one of my favorite toy lines ever. I really wish they'd bring it back. And maybe branch out into other properties. The Milano from Guardians of the Galaxy would be awesome.

what is the best brand regarding Gundam? Price VS Quality?
>>6277142
There's only one brand, Bandai.
Best value these days is their Model Kits.
>>6277146
where is only one brand? Damn im stupid.
>>6277147
It's alright, fair mistake to make if you're new. Bandai owns the Gundam franchise pretty much. The license gets lent out to other companies to make licensed goods sometimes, but when it comes to toys and model kits, Bandai is pretty much the only one.
You pretty much have two main options:
1) Model kits (Gunpla). There is a HUGE selection here, in various price ranges, sizes, and complexities, and like the previous anon said, they're surprisingly cheap for what they are. Plus, the building itself is really fun. If you're interested, look for our Gunpla general thread and read up on it there.
2) Robot Damashii. These are about 6" tall prebuilt and painted action figures. These are good if you don't want to put any effort in, but they cost more and the selection is much smaller. They usually pose better than the kits.
There are other smaller options in between, but those are the two big choices.
