How do you guys feel about figma's reissues of some of the most sought-after figmas?
I'm fine with it honestly. It proves that waiting instead of buying the figma with the inflated aftermarket price can be a good thing. And even then, for the people who already bought the figma, they can get a chance to get a second one at a lower price if they really wanted more than one.
>>6268310
Why do you ask? Has there been some shitty reissues? I'm planning on buying ryuko soon.
>>6268320
That brings up another question. Do you think the aftermarket adds to the experience of collecting, or detracts from it?
Please help /toy/
When I was younger, I had this cool big (for me) helicopter that had doors on its sides where you could store a bunch of small jets and tanks that came with it (I'm not sure if they came with it, I remember using them to play along with the helicopter). I'm not sure but maybe the cockpit could also be opened. If I was to estimate, maybe the length of the helicopter would be the average around the same as your desktop pc from the back to the front. Well, big enough for my younger brother (2 years old I believe) to get his head stuck in it (through one of the sliding doors) and my parents broke the toy to get hin out, I'm still traumatized by going home from school and learning about it. It felt like losing a pet and I still hold it against him about it, not openly however. The helicopter was green and this was around 13 years ago (I think? I'm not sure though, I was around 7 back then). It wasn't RC. I felt like it looked like A huey mixed with a Chinook but I'm not sure about that at all, nor even about the amount of rotors it had.
Maybe like a black hawk?
If any of you could at least help me find it so I can get some peace about it, I wiuld be eternally grateful, if you can't help, post similar stories?
>pic not related
Very similar to this 1989 toy but I remember that it was different however the concept was the same
>>6265435
Was it THE Tomahawk?
>>6265439
No it wasn't a G.I Joe line toy, I want to believe that it was the micromachime one I posted but 1989 is far too old to still be in sale past 2000. I live in Europe if it makes a difference. Thanks for helping though. I'm pretty sure I remember that the box it came in had one of the sides almost all in plastic so you could see how the toy was inside the box.
Man, that helicopter along with this big pirate ship from peter pan that could float and had wheels were the shit in my mid to late childhood years
Well?

THE TALE OF LU BAN'S PUPPET
PART ONE
===
In the twentieth year of the reign of the Emperor Szu-Tsun, the exiled artificer Lu Ban returned to the kingdom, accompanied by a strange device which he had constructed.
Word spread throughout the land of Lu Ban's return, and he was soon met on the road by Guan Wei, the master swordsman, and Pu Pu, the greatest martial arts master in the kingdom.
"Why have you come back, Lu Ban?" asked Guan Wei. "You know the penalty for your return is death!"
"Fool!" cried Lu Ban. "The penalty for my return is death, but it will not be my death! My puppet is invincible, and with it I will see this kingdom ruined, as it has tried to ruin me!"
"Your puppet will soon find its strings are no match for my sword," Guan Wei said, and drew his sword, but Pu Pu placed a hand on Guan Wei's shoulder.
"Wait, Guan Wei," Pu Pu said. "Let me break the exile's toy."
"No man or puppet may defeat my Onrushing Typhoon style," Pu Pu boasted.
"Do not be so sure," Lu Ban laughed, for his puppet assumed the Stance of the Tiger Shark.
"Impossible!" Pu Pu shouted.
"Well, go on and break my toy!" Lu Ban said, and laughed.

Can someone post WF diamond next to josuke 1st?

Is there a thread for people to talk about these things?
They are flying off the shelves here, never seen a thread about them
>>6248423
Why would there be? They look like just another of those little blind bag toys that are everywhere now.
There is a tiny bit of discussion in the blind box toy thread further down the board.
They recently won an award in my country and the price jumped up to $20 each!
How do you get the table to fit in their ball? I can't figure it out
I don't know why they didn't give them clothes that actually covered their backs. They remind me of hospital gowns
Hey anons, I need some help identifying a toy for a friend. Ages ago she did a repaint of a robot jet girl modelkit, and now she's trying to find out what it is, exactly. And I'm stumped. I know it's a variation of the YF-21, guessing that it's probably a KO, and that it was pink before she repainted it (no other mods done). Anyone here who recognises it?

i..is that...glitter glue?
The stand for my blue-eyes revoltech snapped. The peg is stuck in the base and i can't fix it. Is there any place i can buy a replacement stand?
>>6273003
Bandai, figma, and Revoltech stands are all pretty much the same basic design nowadays and I think even the pegs are the same size, so anything should be fine, and the Bandai ones you can buy 3 packs of for usually like $15, they're called Tamashii Stage Act 4 and they come with like clamps too so you can also use them with figures that don't have pegholes. They're nice I frequently just like tack on a set when ever I'm order something else so I always have a bunch on hand cause I use them for most small figures that don't come with their own stand.
Honestly I would just buy a clearance revoltech figure that comes with one. Muv-luv stuff goes for like $15 and comes with a base.
>>6273059
The stand that comes with those older figures is a different stand altogether than the modern ones. Modern ones are almost identical to figma stands.

I have this strange urge to talk about trains.
I recently threw out a lot of my boxes since I don't have space. RIP ridiculously large boxes, you will be missed
>>6268133
No you did the right thing
They just take up space and degrade anyway
Why not store the smaller boxes in the bigger boxes?
>>6268133
It makes sense for most stuff, but for higher end stuff I always keep the box because there's a pretty high chance I'll sell it eventually. I don't see myself collecting toys my entire life and having boxes will make selling things easier. Doesn't look like you threw anything expensive or worth anything out tho.
Does anyone sling begleri?
It looks fun. The community for it seems small, but close knit and friendly, and I really need something to do with my hands...
>preemptive explanation
Begleri are a skill toy that mutated out of Greek worry beads. They are defined simply as a string with a mass on each end. You can make one right now by tying two hexnuts to a shoelace, there really isn't anything else to that part. It's all about rebounding and shifting that mass to make it "climb" up your fingers, into the air, back around, into the other hand, etc.
Generic example link because it makes no damn sense in text:
https://youtu.be/4yZC1inesPY
>>6265591
I don't have one but I see alot of 'edc' posts on /out/ and /k/ and some people have them, look kinda neat and easy, but haven't bothered to pick one up yet. Same with the spinners toys and just the burgeoning 'fidget' toys in general is interesting
>>6265600
Yeah, I found it the same way. This one interested me the most because it's a skill you can improve at. The most you can do with a fidget spinner is some simple finger transfers and balances, otherwise anyone you give it to will be able to do exactly what you do.
I really want to have something that responds to me in my own way - my slinging will look blatantly better than someone who's never touched one before, worse than an expert, and just plain different, in subtle ways, compared to people of the same skill level. That's what I want out of a toy.
What is /toy/'s thoughts on Screw Head.
Rod Drill is cooler.

I really wish those skirts worked better. I like those aesthetically but they're shit otherwise.
For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
