ITT: Toys you like from companies you normally don't.
I hate Pops, but their dalek is cuuuuute as hell.
>>6267237
Well, it's a Dalek that looks like a squished Dalek. This actually is the best POP because it isn't one of the shitty generic template ones
>>6267237
Same exact example anon, and I suppose this too.
Funko Pops that don't look like Pops are the only decent ones, jeez.
>>6267237
>only three bumps going down
>even the picture shows it should have four.
I'm all for Daleks, but at least get the simple things right.
Is Quickswitch worth it?
So much for patience.
>Got Megatron in Mail
>Open it
>Paint chipped on chin of the laughing face
Not sure how to feel about this.
I understand why they paint the thing, but I really wonder if there is no such thing as shiny injected grey plastic they can use?
It seems most of the problems this guy has is due to the paint. It thicken parts where they shouldn't and they scratches. Again, you will always get people complaining about bare plastic.
The transformation is really complex compared to the old modern MP, maybe too complex.
I wonder if Takara and Hasbro did a sit down talk on where to go with G1 Megatron- will he ever be a gun again after MP36? or just update him into a heavy vehicle?
>>6267204
I actually prefer bare plastic, am I the only person on the planet with this opinion? Not just for paint rub/tolerance reasons, but I just prefer the look. Not any plastic, mind you, I hate shit that's been poorly mixed, and most metallic plastics. After Shockwave I had fucking hoped this guy would be mostly bare plastic.
Just bought this dude, what are some other good marvel figures that scale well with him?
>>6266589
Other Mafex stuff, Marvel Legends, Figuarts though some are a bit shorter.
Check out the Marvel General.
>>6266589
I like the design but heard he's a floppy pos.
>>6266673
He's not too bad, floppier than I'd like but I managed to get him into a somewhat decent pose, kinda new to having figures so this was the best I could do (excuse the dust, currently in the process of cleaning)
Anyone use Robotkingdom.com before?
If so I'm mostly asking about their shipping. I need to get my figure in a certain time frame in less than 48 days.
how long does their shipping usually take with EMS or the other shipping rates?
I'm from Canada BTW.
also how are they when it comes to packing, like making sure the boxes aren't dented or crushed?
>>6266362
bump
>>6266362
>how long does their shipping usually take
It all depends on the HK postal service. For EMS' postage calculator, see http://www.speedpost.hk/
Note that RK will usually quote you the weight of the item +0.5kg for packing materials.
Their packing standard is not bad. I received a carded transformer toy with the card intact (among other toys). What they did was they lined the 6 inside faces of the shipping box with styrofoam sheets with the usual air-bubble filler inside the rest of it. Then again, I'm in Asia and it's a short trip.
>>6267256
I've heard a lot of EMS workers are not careful with packagings which has me concerned also.
I'm interested in getting some blank male/female body figures and was wondering what the options out there were. I know on the high end there's the synthetic human which is way outside my price range. SHF has Body Kun and Body Chan, and Figma has the Archetype and Archetype Next. Any consensus on which are better? Are these the only real options out there?
For poseability the Archetype 2.0s are best imo but the package the Body Kun DX comes with is fantastic.
SHF and Figma are really the only way to go. SHF may have better upper body articulation (double joints on the limbs too) but I like the archetype 2.0s for the fact that they can actually squat. The feet on the archetypes might take some getting used to since they aren't flat as well and the male body is a little smaller than the normal 1/12 scale (for being such a muscly guy), so take those facts into consideration. Most people like the SHF though.
There's also phicen that uses metal skeleton underneath a flexible body. Comes headless tho
And there's also StickyFigure being made right now. Much more flexible but is the least human looking

Today is April 1st, Can we get a sum up of the joke announcements made by toy companies?
This year GSC made a fake cat ver site >>6260597 and show a wood bear >>6261234
Kotobukiya said that they will made some Freddy and Jason horror cu-poches >>6261632
But do western toy companies pull pranks like these??
I have see video game companies do this thing often, but I wonder about western companies or any other jap company
Bluefin announced yu yu hakusho figures.
/lg/ reporting in.
Lego stores had a free Joker poster if you said the words "Batman smells".
Some Lego news outlets pretended the UCS millennium falcon was real.

The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

so I bought a toy car version of my car at good will. it's missing a spoiler.
wheres the best place to get one or best way to at least make one?
doesn't have to be the exact spoiler the car comes with (though ideal) but I feel it just needs one.
also do you have a toy version of your car?
>>6258954
this is what the car should look like but I open to other styles of wings.
I'm looking at my other toy cars with removable wings and non seem to be wide enough to fit the whole of this car
make a 3D model in sketchup in 5 minutes or ask someone on /3/, /diy/ to make one
then 3D print it online
>>6258959
wait, I can have things 3d printed online? I'm guessing they then mail it to you?
what do the 3d designers/sketchers need? just a photo?
Yoyo's are toys, does /toy/ yoyo?
>>6256568
I have this Yomega one that's got rubber on the rims
I feel like if I bought another type it'd be easier to do tricks with since I can't really do shit with it, but I also am a beginner and retarded
>>6256589
The rubber does make it tough, snagging on the string and your hand. For $10 you can get a Yoyofactory One on Amazon, comes with 2 bearings for beginner to intermediate.
>>6256597
If you can wait for something from China, which you probably can since this is toy, check out magicyoyo. High quality, dirt cheap
ITT: post your favorite figure next to your favorite food.
Bonus points if they're eating or holding the food.

What's that creepy ass picture on the wall.
So how does your girlfriend feel about your toy-loving ways?
Is she a fan too, or does she give you shit for it?
>>6235881
My wife texts me whenever she sees Legos for sale on the local Facebook flea market to ask if I want her to buy them for me.
>>6235881
Got shit for it once or twice when she was pissed, it was just another thing I was spending money on when we weren't very rich in the first place. Otherwise it's pretty calm. She doesn't love it or hate it.
>>6235881
GF didn't really care for figures when we started dating.
Currently, after getting into anime and manga, she owns a decent amount of figures.
>let's use full cloth in a scale that doesn't need it
>let's give every figure broad shoulders, a giant head, and long monkey arms
>let's include some of the worst foot articulation anyone's ever seen
>let's fail every attempt to do a human face sculpt
>let's charge $80 per figure b/c mini Hot Toys
Those thighs are looking kinda T H I C C
>>6234100
When this line launched with DKR Bats, I thought, "Oh cool, a line that'll do comic accurate costumes based on specific artists treating it as direct source material". Instead I got a bunch of crappy sideshow collectibles style redesigns and some shitty movie versions that absolutely do not look like "mini Hot Toys", like people claim.
Don't get me wrong, a lot of them still look pretty good. Frank looks good, even though I would've preferred a true, 80's Mike Zeck style classic variant, and I'm all for Space Ghost. But things like Daredevil or Green Arrow's redesigns just turn me off.
