Are they good? I keep seeing this brand when looking at Marvel and other stuff, they're always cheap and have cool characters, I keep feeling there has to be a catch
>>
7 inch figures, articulation isn't as good sometimes

their venom's sculpt in my opinion is phenomenal but it lacks ankle rockers which really limits posing options.
>>
>>6261541
This. Their larger characters are really good though; think Juggernaut, rhino, destroyer.
>>
>>6261519
I just got a select Thanos. They're good figures if you're looking for great sculpts and detail, though quality my vary. My Thanos figure had some not so good paint apps on him.
>>
>>6261519
Depending on what you're after, tread carefully with this line. They are advertised as articulated figures and by that definition they truly are.. But their articulation prevents them from being posed in anything beyond a neutral stance with varying arms positions. Their movement just doesn't feel smooth or natural. They are best left in their one stance on a shelf and left alone and for many collectors, that's all it has to do.

I had Carnage, Venom, and Anti-Venom. All of them are incredibly well sculpted, but I am fond of taking my figures off the shelf to pose and all of these just felt bad to do so with.
>>
Wow thanks guys, I thought they'd fall apart immediately or something. Yeah I mainly want some bigger guys to not mess with a lot, I'm gonna do it
>>
i really liked the look of the select spiderman, but that articulation looked horrid and the scaling was too off

this is the only Diamond Select figure i've ever been interested in
>>
>>6261594
I literally own the figure in that pic. Bought it from the guy who took the picture. I know because of the little slice in the eye.
>>
>>6262124
oh and the little splotches of blue on the chest logo.
>>
>>6261621
I agree, I mostly buy the larger enemies in marvel select, also groot. As for the normal sized heroes like avengers/ xmen i go with marvel legends
>>
>>6261621
>>6262709
MS Abomination, Juggernaut, Red Hulk, and Rhino have saved me from buying a lot of ML figures I didn't want. I wish the Groot was released earlier.

Would Select Cable work in a Legends display? He's supposed to be almost 7 feet tall so the bigger scale might be ok.

bump for interest.

Some people put him in with Legends but I didn't. I'm not a scale nazi, I have a lot of MS in my Legends display. Do you not like the Hasbro one?
>>
>>6263581
Nah, I prefer the 90's look. And I don't care for the old Toybiz ones proportions.
>>
>>6263581
I think if he's put in a kneeling pose it might work pretty well, that is if he can actually do a proper kneeling pose

What do people think of their bank busts?

I've gotten a few so far, Alien warrior, Harley Quinn, Flukeman from xfiles and the detailing/price point has be kinda hooked.
>>
>>6263510

The guy contracted to do the head sculpt refused to give it another go, and they had to explain that expression on his face somehow...
>>
The Marvel Selects are great looking figures, but a lot of the older ones have bad articulation. they have definitely gotten better and sometimes rival marvel legends in posability while still being the same price

I recommend:
Age of Ultron Hulk
The Mightly Thor (hammer swinging thor)
Spectacular Spiderman
Carnage
Venom (has no ankle rocker but other than that he's great)
Abomination (articulation is limited but the sculpt is awesome)
>>
>>6261519
ultron can't stand up for shit

>>6262832
Ron Perlman

>>
I want to get zombie sabertooth and magneto, anybody got em? Are they good?
>>
>>6261519
I love them. I used to collect Legends, but I've phased out 1:12 and focused on 1:10 because of how much more I prefer Selects. Hulkbuster is without a doubt the best non-premium Iron Man armor figure out there.
>>
>>6271922
I've been thinking of doing this because I like sturdiness/stiffness/tight joints over loose stuff

Plus good characters are just easier to get

I bought Gambit yesterday just because he's always been my favorite superhero and the sculpt is nice. I just wish the articulation was better. The way the coat is molded bugs me because he can't really pull off many cool looking poses and it looks kinda funny blowing back that with him just standing there. The only other selects I have are Juggernaut and Venom those 2 are much better. Juggy is heavy as fuck, like if you dropped him on your foot he might break a toe.
>>
>>6272313
Get a dremel and carve the fuck out of the inside of the upper torso. I did that to my Gambit and it is way the fuck more posable. Basically has the same range of motion as a Legends ab crunch, plus it has the side to side rocking of a ball joint.
>>
Marvel Selects (or Legends) don't get rereleases, right?
I'd really like a Carnage but I only see him listed for rape prices.
>>
>>6272497
Selects get reissues. Both Venom and Carnage got one recently(ish). The only ones that don't are super old ones, movie ones, and Disney Store exclusive ones. Or ones that have missing/fucked up molds, like Watcher
>>
>>6272355
The torso is the least bothersome point of articulation to me, the leg articulation is awful and if you manage to make a decent looking pose it won't stand for shit because his coat makes him super back heavy and no ankle rockers. It's cool though I'm fine with him being pretty much a statue.
>>
>>6272523
>Or ones that have missing/fucked up molds, like Watcher

Man that still pisses me off. I'd had it preordered for the redo...and then it came out they couldn't do it after all. Such crap.

I remember that. When the re-release was announced a local comic book shop dropped his price from $150 to $50 to try to get something for it before it was worthless. I bought it and even haggled him down to $45.

Good deal.
>>
>>6262832
He looks kinda like Ron Pearlman...
>>
>>6273028

That's so shit. That is one thing that's nice about the line is they often keep them available. Like juggernaut is always in demand. I love these, many scale well with Legends. I hope we get more comic related stuff.
>>
>>6262832
I can tell you the Marvel Legends Cable is huge. He's almost as tall as my Marvel Select Sabretooth and Colossus. So this guy is probably gonna scale fine. FYI, the ML Cable is about the same price on Amazon; I have him and he's a great figure with a lot of accessories, so I can recommend him.
>>
>>6275271
My concern is that select Cable would be too tall for a legends display. I don't really care for the look of either legends Cable, Hasbro or the old ToyBiz one.
>>
I have the select Cable and it sucks. Waaay too tall, the arm articulation is terrible and has awful range, his hands don't hold his guns well, and from the waist up he's in scale with Legends and from the waist down he's in scale with Selects. The legs are super long and out of proportion to his upper body.

If you absolutely must have it, just rip it to pieces and transfer the overlays and head to an ML Nuke. They fit well with minimal effort and now you have a 90's ML Cable.
>>
>>6276086
I saw a post somewhere else online where someone used King Thor BAF arms on a Select Cable and it looked really good.
>>
>>6273028
I got him for like $10 at a sam goody
>>
>>6276086
I just ordered a Select Cable and the newest Legends one because they were both pretty cheap on Amazon. I'll make it work.

Yes, he's holding them in the pic bro.

He means the Select's weapons that are under Cable, who's holding the Legends' weapons.
