You must come up with guidelines for a possible first contact with aliens situation. Nobody has ever seen aliens before and there's no information about what they might be. They might not even exist.

What are the best ways of combining Eastern and Western Fantasy?
>>55395066
Most Eastern (read: Japanese from your image) traditional fantasy is just Western traditional fantasy but with anime storytelling methods. With Japanese folkloric materials that's more Japanese folklore then fantasy; they didn't do a not of fantasy novels based on their own folklore.
It you mean Chinese fantasy, then you'd be surprised how little you actually have to change.
>>55395066
>>55395066
what do you mean by "combine?"
Having them both exist in the same place? Kitchen sink or the forgotten realms w/ kara-tur kind?
What is the silliest monster you put in your games that's still a genuine threat to your party?
Master Splinter and the TMNT(lizardmen and a wererat) killed one of my players in a early sewers quest
Just one lizardman shaman. Thing is I always make him summon dinosaurs and for some reason this scares my party.

The "Could your PC work out as a villain?" thread brought up the amusing idea of the young, bright-eyed, aspiring villain.
The aspiring villain is sort of like a Disney Hero or Princess in reverse: they are a character who wants very, very badly to be evil, but pursues their wicked goals with the same enthusiasm, optimism and light-heartedness as their heroic counterparts.
They grew up idolizing the great evil overlords of the past, hoping and dreaming to someday achieve the same levels of comically hammy infamy, singing stirring, heartfelt songs about their villainous desires while trying to make every encounter more dramatic.
What sort of aspiring villains might exist, based on this idea, and what sort of "Bizarro Disney" setting would arise from these characters being the protagonists?
>>55383128Isn't this chick from a series of images where she rapes a dude while giving him hallucinations that he's the dominant one in the relationship?
I actually tried this concept ones. Pic related was the result.
I think trying it again, simply because inefficient wannabe villains are so much fun.
I'm reminded of Eva Ibbottson's "The Worst Witch," a young adult book I read in middle school. An "evil" wizard is looking for a wife, and there's a witch who wants to be evil but can only perform white magic.
ITT real people that look like characters you'd see in a campaign.

The one manning the machine gun has his armor on, the one manning the ammo belt has his off. Both wearing black barrets with a gold navigation compass star pin on it

Requesting a dwarven mountain nomad barbarian.
Her design is inspired by tibetan people, so she has quite the colorful clothes and armaments. She is also pretty tall for a dwarf, being about 150cm tall.
Her facial features and hair are like on the dwarven woman lower left, except for a somewhat darker skin color. The small beard is optional, down to personal taste.
Her weapon of choice is a glaive, slightly taller than her, and sporting an unusual completely rectangular head. It should obviously be dwarven made, maybe made of brass?
Her clothes consist of red lamellar chest armor (she doesn't have the gauntlets or helmet from ref), long fur gloves, a cloak like on the right except more colorful (say, blue) and jewelry in the style of bottom right. Any additional details are up to the artist.

Ulisses-Spiel, very well known in Germany. It's set post Gathering Storm, uses a Shadowrun-esque D6 dice pool, and is a unified line with Marines, Humans, and Xenos all playable in the core book.

If you were to introduce new people into the game, would you use a prepackaged adventure, or make up something for yourself. Do you have a go-to plot for introducing newbies to the game?

I ran them through a couple missions of the space hulk board game to show them the setting, then made new characters. Worked well with the gsc bbeg

I would use Only War

only war, everything sucks, and they don't need to know a lick of the lore.

Dear\tg\.
I'm bored of wh40k after 18 years of playing. Recently I was thinking about quite cheap and good system to play. Somehow I can't stop thinking about dropzone commander and dropfleet commander. Could you please advise if it's worth buying? I'm interested in both as It seems that this is opportunity to create fun fluffy battles about gaining control over planets space and then surface. I would like to buy both starters and something small to expand tactical options for both sides, since probably I will have to lend one army to my opponent in order to play. Anyways your thoughts and opinions regarding both systems, models quality, fun, advantages/disadvantages? Mostly I played wh40k and board games (closest to table top would be twilight imperium)
>>55414486
Try infinity, that's what many players do
>>55414499
I'm lured to smaler scale of models. Probably epic and battlefleet gothic would be good but I don't want anything from 40k universum
>>55414486
There's a General for that
>>>55364919
What's the best system or setting for playing a lighthearted evil campaign? Fun, theatrical villains who love their work and can work together to plan capers, perhaps with a little betrayal in the mix.
Probably Maid, Risus, maybe Fate.
>>55413818
>Maid
Are you having a laugh at my expense?
>Risus
No, I think you're serious, and I'm confused, but appreciative of the suggestion. Now, Risus certainly seems to make sense.
>Fate
I was considering this, myself. The Adventure Zone podcast is trying that out in a superhero setting when they return from hiatus.
>>55413772
Really, anything. Just make the campaign work.
DtD might work extra-well, since there is the basic assumption that all players are fucking monsters from the beginning, and thus could roll with the whole "super villain" thing. The universe is also so fucked that it wouldn't even be the strangest campaign to have the party serving as an organization of villains who perform evil deeds in order to get heroes to try and stop them, so the resulting carnage can be filmed and broadcast across the galaxy as entertainment.
How do you keep your armor and weapons from rusting away?
A mix of charcoal, pitch, and linseed oil, overtop of a patina made by painting the dregs of a stout onto the armor.
>>55413609
paint it, shiny metal armor is a modern trope
>>55413642
do you have historical examples of painted armour?
