Be pard, dark elf, dressed in black cloak and black robes with mask. reverse KKK, seems good. Also made my character blind for the memes.
get captured by toad people. Get taken to their boss. Preparations for a party are on their way. Getting ready to be killed for trespassing. Decide to play music and offer my services for the party. Boss lets us join in the party and gives us frog cocaine when we leave.

A super saiyan and a werewolf turned at the same time during a full moon and threatened a party wipe on us. The super Sayian having turned into an oozaru, a giant monkey godzilla and the werewolf being able to infect anyone it bit with lycanthropy. I cast dissonant whispers on the Oozaru and got to watch as giant monkey ran away from a Cat. Took us half an hour to determine how far an oozaru would sprint in one turn but it was worth it.

We're not allowed to homebrew anymore.

Think about things your character likes, things your character doesn't like, and goals your character has.

Do three of each.

Then include two friends the character had, and two people that don't like the character very much and could be considered foes.

Then think about a story from the character's past that was a formative experience.

This reminds me of a joke.

All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down tight. Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache, the stomach was bloated, the legs got wobbly, the eyes got watery, and the blood was toxic. They all decided that the rectum should be the boss. Moral of the story? No matter what, there's always an asshole in charge.

There's the GUMSHOE system, that focuses on investigation and the resources that the characters can bring into it.
The idea is that an investigation can't really fail, since the show must go on, but there can be setbacks and wasted resources.

I'd recommend looking at anything using the GUMSHOE engine. It makes it so that the players never roll to find out information, instead, they get the bare bones automatically, get more specific information simply by naming their action and having the appropriate skill and can gain extra details by spending resources. It makes the game about figuring out where to look and piecing together the information once you have it, instead of rolling to gather information until you solve it. It also makes it impossible to have a scene where the players have no idea where to go next by making sure there's always a bare minimum amount of information they can gain, it's not enough to solve anything, but it's enough to figure out where to start asking questions.

Any system can work as long as you build the mystery well. For one, don't roll the dice unless there's a possibility of failure. If your players know the cabinet has a secret drawer, they don't have to roll to find it. If they suspect it does and say "we pull on the wood between the drawers," don't roll for it either. Or if they find out the murderer was a smoker, "I search for cigarette butts" should now just be successful if there are cigarette butts. Encourage logic over dice rolls. Dice rolls are for uncertain outcomes, like searching the room for something.

Also, never have a single vital clue. Always have multiple clues leading to the same conclusion, and then multiple clues leading to those clues. That way if the dice say they miss the clue, they can still double back and follow up on one of their other leads.

No. Slaanesh is formed from excessive stimulation, from a desire for perfection - and the quest to reach that desire, and from pushing things in your life to their limits. 4chan, no matter what fucked up shit we fap to and crazy things we say, doesn't have enough people who actually do excessive things. Slaanesh was formed when more Eldar than there are humans in the world all got together and became /d/, but instead of just drawing/RPing/fapping to it, they acted it all out. On top of that, more Eldar than there are humans in the world saw their standards of perfection, and told themselves they'd be that, and they pushed themselves for it, forsaking everything else.
