My players are fucking DUMB. As in, I pretty much tell them, out of character, what is going on and who is attacking them and how they're doing it, and they still fucking mill around pointlessly. My last game,, and I had to take a break from GMing because of it, involved them not figuring out the connection between a magic item that sent out a traceable signal to parties unknown, and assassins showing up all the time, no matter where and how they tried to hide.

I want to hit them sometimes.

It's not that hard, you're being dramatic. Unless you DM five games at once, it's not that time consuming. Make an Evernote account, work on it in your downtime at lunch, on the bus, whatever. Actual crunch shouldn't be that big of a fucking deal, and even then, just do your best guess and fix it when you get home. If you spend one hour on crunch and just kick the notes can down the campaign road every now and then, you can run a weekly game. It's not affecting your studies, you are affecting your studies.

GURPS

From the systems I've played, I'd say GURPS is your best bet. That flexibility to go from market engineering to piano wire is what you'd need.

Okay, so at least I'm confident about the choice, then. Has anyone been able to work with the combat rules to provide a more streamlined experience than rolling to hit and location separately, like degrees of success determining it?

How do you present the large list of situational modifiers to your players best? I know mine will like gunplay, but the GURPS turn order is already very detail oriented.

In an old West setting, the party made up of mostly good characters who'd been collecting bounties and fighting bad guys decided to hijack a steamship and become pirates.

So, last thread there was discussion about the scale of the Creation, and somebody mentioned that at some point the Creation was supposed to be about the size of the Mediterranean area. Would someone actually prefer this, and if yes, could they give some reasons why? It seems to me like it'd be hard to play Solar Alexander the Great, for instance, in a world that isn't large enough to include Alexander's entire empire.

Shapeshifting is too expensive. I might be ok with that being the cost to change at normal speed and also having the option to change more slowly for the original cost.But does it even really need this at all? Lunars are gimped enough as it is.

Mediterranean would be overcorrecting, although I could see scaling it so that the blessed isle and inland sea were about that big if you added a bit more to the edges of the map an iteration more than 3e did.

Well, since Shadow Wars sold out pretty much immediately, I guess it's a huge success.

Kinda want to see Assassins for imperial factions, like the Solitaire for Harlequins.

Starting with Necrons (At least, if my store got me a copy of the game/gets games going). Maybe I'd also start a Harlequin Troupe, the low model count could give me a chance to individualize them a lot. Or Maybe cultists and a CSM, as I still have the Dark Vengeance box around.
