Pathfinder General /pfg/
On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is really girly and femme and 10 is really tomboyish and butch, where do your female characters usually lie? What about your current female characters?

Not sure, but let's talk about meme characters now. Which ones do you want to see fight? Any crossover fights? Who do you think would make the best tag-team, in terms of character and mechanical build?
>>52576230
Mine because my whole life is a meme!
>>52576230
I want to see Tia fight Aster while Quinn cries alone in the corner.
What is the Chaos Gods' endgame?
What's the plan if or when they "Won"?
>>52575949
>What is the Chaos Gods' endgame?
According to new canon it's pretty inscrutable, since their plans extend far beyond any kind of scope that we could possibly comprehend, they'll destroy all of reality and then probably move on and destroy something else while fighting each other.
GW has done a decent job of not trying to explain the minds of incomprehensible chaotic entities, but have unfortunately been slowly failing at keeping it up over the past decade.
>>52575949
Their goal is to keep everything going forever, there's no way they could "win" or however you want to put it
>>52575949
To keep playing the Great Gameof Warhammer 40k
I think I fucked up /tg/. I might have finally broken my players.
They told me they wanted to follow a compelling set story for once rather than what I usually do which is adapt to their current situation and basically write the campaign weekly.
They said they were okay with me smudging the numbers a little in lieu of a great campaign for them to play through, and they promised to mostly stick to the point of the campaign but I think I might have overdone it.
On one hand this is clearly meant to make someone ask what you did.
On the other hand, this is one heck of a hook. Go on, elaborate.
>>52575142
I'm ready for an ebin greentext that totally, 100% happened.
>>52575224
I've got a few paragraphs written already, fear not.
My players never really play evil aligned characters, it's always either Good or Neutral for them.
Necromancy was strictly forbidden magic rather than just a taboo, anyone found to be practising it was either exiled or executed depending on the severity of their actions.
The world I designed had 4 moons and one large central continent, divided into four separate countries by nigh impassable mountain ranges. North, East, South, West.
Each country had their own moon that they associated with and worshipped, though not in the strictest sense, it usually came down to the country folk saying something like "Crops are growing well, praise Altenna" (Eastern Kingdom's moon)
I want to be invincible under the sun. What setting can I do this?
>>52573377
Exalted probably.
>>52573377
You want to be a powerful Reverse vampire?
>>52573377
The Underdark
Fucking Bullshit.
Knights were perfectly balanced and fun to play, and now this bullshit firearms update is ruining the meta. If they wanted to throw the Italians a bonus because crossbows were a shit they could've boosted the Condotieros. But fuck this bullshit. Now everytime I want to play a game everyone's just spamming pikes and muskets, and the rules make them absolutely rekt knights.
Oh yeah, very realistic that all of a sudden all armies in the world would begin using like, thousands of people all in the same formation with just two weapons.
Fuck this shit.
My only comfort is that I know knight's will get an update soon after they end this bullshit civil war storyline in England and we will rule the field again. You guys just wait.
>>52573051
What's stopping knights from using guns?
Reminder that in history armoured knights and firearms coexisted for a significant amount of time. The term 'bullet proof' originally came from armoursmiths testing their wares by shooting them with guns from various distances.
The dumb meme that firearms instantly end medieval settings is a stupid lie that deserves to be forgotten.
>>52573113
it's just noobs who can't into the new meta ranting.firearms and knights lived alongside each other for centuries, Pike and shot warfare quickly and drastically reduced the role of knights in warfare.

>What separates dark magic-users from traditional mages in your setting?
They're allblack.
Woah buddy it's African American magic users in current year
>>52572119
An abundance of melanin.
So I already know about the existence of the dark souls compendium for 5e, but I would like to find out if anyone has made a compilation of the world lore for tabletopor at least put together more enemies for DS3
DS has lore?
>>52571977
Dark souls 3, and to a lesser extent 2, shat up the lore though.
>>52572142
This has to be a joke.

My character got a title of nobility, does that count?
Never, because every DM I've ever played with was one of those weirdo losers who insisted you need a material reward.
I don't want a sword! I want a HOMESTEAD!
>>52571538
>property
>not a material award
>all of these cool unique races I want to play
>human bonus feat/skill too good to pass up
I just want to be a snowflake, why are humans so good?
Stop playing D&D.
>>52570096
Bevause gygax hated them. So he made them generic. Ironically giving them zero weaknesses.
Besides, I've played just about every other starter race and I've learned to love playing humans. And since most of the people i play with are special snowflakes I'm the only human most of the time.
>>52570096
I just can't find much of a good reason for most of my characters to not be human. If I'm ever tempted by non-human, it's usually because of mechanical features, but even then I can't picture them as a non-human, as easily.
> final battle of the campaign
> thanks to bad rolls the party dies
Well that is awkward.
>>52569800
Can't win 'em all.
>>52569800
>bad rolls
>"We each stand in place and roll our attack/ cast a spell and then sit passively until our next turn with no teamwork or strategy besides 'wait for my next turn to attack again'"Just kidding, that's one of the big downsides of D&D-style rule systems: no player control.
>>52569817
Is there any way to salvage this?
How much would Tiamat fuck up Faerun if she manifested in it?
Inb4 Elminster. In latest edition Elminster and other Mary Sues are nerfed into oblivion and would be a minor snack for a dragon godess.

So jumpers, what is your favourite melee combo
>>52568296
Do you know what time it is? It's build-posting time.
Jump #299: Final Fantasy VIII
>The Empress, reversed: Stifling matriarchal influence.
Can you say "sorceresses"? I knew you could.
>Age: 22
>Location: The Moon
Wait. What?
>Identity: Scientist (-100)
>Drawbacks: Lunar Cry (+300), Time Kompression (+300)
Oh. Evil sorceress threw me onto the moon at the start of the jump. Yay, I'm going to level up to 99 in about six hours flat! (No, this is not a good thing.)
>Limit Break (Free)
I don't even want to think about what my limit break would be.
>Certified Scientist (Free, Scientist)
Of course I'm certified. I have the straightjacket to prove it- I mean the PhD to prove it!
>Fan Club (1300)
The public loves me. How does the public know I exist?
>Sorcery Stopper (1100, Scientist)
Being able to engineer something that can put a halt to magic is immensely useful. I'll be studying THIS in detail.
>Amnesia-Proof (500)
I think I've crossed into the point that I'm grabbing such things to make sure I cover any remaining vulnerabilities. If someone obliviates me, it just won't take, for instance. There aren't very many other perks that I've seen which give flat-out immunity to such a problem, so this is worthwhile, even if unlikely to do anything.
>Sufficiently Analyzed Magic (200, Scientist)
The last puzzle piece needed to unify my magic system. Every piece of magic, tech, and biology that I have is now completely interchangeable.
>Salary (0)
Also I'm going to be drawing a permanent salary for the rest of my chain, between 500 gil and a 30,000 gil per week. How handy is that? Back-of-the-envelope calculations say that gil here is 10:1 to USD, so that's effectively three thousand a week. $150k a year is a reasonable salary for a mercenary, no?
>>52568335
So, firstly: I awaken on the moon. Surrounded by monsters.
Nope. Nope nope nope nope nooooooope. Maximum nope. And while I'm busy noping the fuck out, I've got literally everything that is not me on the moon trying to kill me, eat me, and defile my corpse. And not necessarily in that order. I'm not a fan of that, for obvious reasons. And we are talking MONTHS of this, because my wings have somehow been clipped and I can't escape the moon's gravity well, or teleport away. Thanks to some geniuses thinking too far outside the box, I can't even call for help because all radio transmissions are jammed worldwide. (As though that makes ANY degree of sense.) That's okay though, I can deal with this. Eventually, the Lunar Cry occurs - an event wherein monsters from the moon are sent planetside. I'm in the middle of that mass of monsters.
I am also the only living thing that makes it to the planet, because bored jumpers and planets full of monsters either mean you're going to civilize the monsters or kill them all, and guess which option I went for.
Well, I guess technically not the ONLY living thing, just the only living thing from the moon. Sorceress Adel's tomb comes down too, after all. On the plus side, this all means I get to join the party, even if the party is looking askance at me because I'm a scientist they've never heard of, drawing a SeeD salary that isn't on the books, and essentially came out of nowhere. Sure, I can't stop most of the stupidity, but I can at least join them in the remaining 10% of the game's plot: con them into taking me along, and go with them while everything goes as it did in canon. Time compression, and then dealing with Ultimecia.
discuss.
>>52568014
well it certainly hands out feat equivalents like candy to everybody.
never really thought 5e combat was boring though.
adds a lot of effect tracking to combat, and adding complexity is not always better.
>>52568014
>>52569031
and it kinda runs roughshod over the battlemaster fighter archtype, by effectively making all characters battlemasters within their weapon proficiency.
>>52568014
I like the idea behind it, not sure about the execution. I feel like limiting it to two moves/weapon, and making things that should be really just universal (or at least true for the entire category, instead of just select weapons) instead of weapon dependent is a bad move.
Also, I'm about 90% sure the balance is whack as shit, but w/e.
>>52569031
Meh, it's 2 more situational abilities/weapon using combatant at best. Probably not feat equivalent.
Would you an elemental?
>>52568011
I don't think it was that interesting the last time it was posted (pasted), so no.
