It makes no sense. The genestealers mutant, in their overwhelming numbers (or wisdom) would have sabotaged the defenses of the planet to a crititcal level, making impossible or incredibly hard to retaliate.

If nobody in a game chooses to play the thief, is it acceptable for a GM to highlight the weakness in the party's composition by letting them suffer whatever consequences come from their lack of trap-spotting skills, or should the GM take the lack of a thief as a sign that nobody wants to deal with traps and adjust their dungeon design accordingly?

So I am looking at doing a short campaign based in an Ancient Greek setting. I want to create some pre-made characters so as to us more time to play the game. What would be some character archetypes/tropes that I could use when making these? I can think of great heroes like Hercules, some kind of hunter from the wilds and an Oracle but otherwise I am a bit stumped.

Knows how to use a sling. Maybe fought in wars as lightly armored skirmisher.

The fittest. The nudist. Might use unarmed combat.

You might want to stretch the definition of what these guys actually did to have more standardish mages.

High CHA, knows how to influence the public. Can be a warrior as well or more of a sneaky guy.

What's /tg/'s opinion on online RPing servers/communities?

Personally, I've found them to be creatively bankrupt compared to meatspace sessions I've had.

I don't know whether it's limitations of the game/engine/computer, but everyone's plotlines just revolve around contriving a battle between two groups or going somewhere to kill something.

Used to do WoW RP a few years ago. Mostly Hordeside, occasionally Alliance.

It could sometimes be fun, but most people took their characters way too seriously. Especially Horde, where it was just a bunch of Orcs getting into /pol/tier arguments and making idle threats at each other because the game can't actually facilitate bar fights. It also got incredibly boring sometimes as it was almost always "Let me tell you about my character" and "Please, let me let you tell me about your character".

The most fun I had was reading cringey Blood Elf RP addons or playing as characters who deliberately flaunted what people expected from RP characters. Mostly ones with no delusions of being tough stuff or were just too thick to actually appreciate or be impressed by all the grandstanding.

Give them Mass Relays, wormholes or something for long-range travel and give them more far-off colonies (maybe disconected) so they can be involved in more things than just the ultra-dense star cluster that its their Empire. Stuck in one tiny place only means that they only interact with their own immediate surroundings.

They take a known concept and autismo over it to the point of it becoming extremely nice and valuable.
They don't drive fundamental science/technological innovation the way gnomes do, and they don't make sords as applied objects of art the ways elves do. They just take a sord and make it an excellent sord because they obsess every step of the way. Like bearded unwashed hardcore linux users argue over which distro is better instead of doing fun things like algorithms. And even if they did algorithms they'd just obsess over crap like conventions.

I started designing my game with almost Gurp-esque complexity. And then I reread it all when done and scrapped it. Each time I redo it, it's simpler and simpler, less and less numbers and rolls. Right now I have a modified ladder version with only d10, and I'm satisfied.

The only problem with a d10 ladder and simplified skill/asset use, is the combat. I fear that removing numbers and complexity of action will remove crunch and hence fun for some of my players.

What would be a good way of doing combat that is more complex than straight-up ladder and less complex than traditional ''all kinds of numbers and dice'' like DND and such ?

Is it true? What's the looting etiquette? If we are going for real life 'spoils of war', then I'm still allowed to pick their weapons correct? Even through they are all dead so I dunno why I shouldn't pick the gold and donate part to the poor.

Ideally, a Paladin would try and find out whether any of these bandits, if they're locally based, had dependents in one of the local towns/villages/farms/whatever, and if so, would pass on at least some of the loot to said dependents, or bring them to the attention of those local churches/charities to do it for them.

This is above and beyond, though, but compassion for the innocent is one of the hallmarks of a Paladin, and the children of a bandit should not starve for their parents' crimes. Ideally, by providing a good example to them, the Paladin can keep them from following in their parents' path, as well.

Yes, I would donate part to the poor. Well, if I really cannot take a dime for myself I would donate everything. I just don't want to keep gold lying there because 'ops cannot grab it or you fall'.

You can catch the opponents weapons in the rings, like a ring toss game on your own enemies spear, then you swing both your own weapon aswell as the enemies weapons (and possibly the enemy if he's still holding on) effectively tripling your attack range.

I would like to request a Cyberpunk character.
Cammi Winters is British, 29, has blonde rocker style hair, slight tan skin and an average body type.
She has both her hands cyberware, with the top of the hands covered by a bright green translucent plastic, that lets you see the wire bundles passing as muscles and the metal rings that are joints.
Choosing style over function, she has cyberware up to the elbow: replacing the forearm basically: molded like a sleeve, triangular ends, the gaps to show off her metallic arm muscles, little laser lights available under the triangles that can be set to react to music or a set rotation
