Repostan due to end of thread. Anyone got any tips on painting these Elysians? Magically finding it harder to paint than any of my other guys. I'm feel like I'm at a good place with the mechanics, save for needing a page on Guts, Backbone, and Health, but that won't be too difficult. I do also want to make a "Backpack" page to build in some consumables like snacks and juice boxes and stuff.

Five is the most you can have and maintain coherency of ideals and objectives. Ive run a game with as many as 9 players and it was a mess. 3 is optimal, 4 is good if your players are reasonable experienced, 5 is only doable if the group has a clear IC or OOC leader.

I was disillusioned by the slow-moving storygames I was playing and found that OSR was the most interesting thing around. And then I started appreciating the design of old school D&D.

In short words, the saving throw categories make no sense and often contradict themselves, even in the same book.
Examples from our conversation so far:
Save vs death is said to be against losing a fight, petrification against being gimped. The former can be cured with a fifth level spell, the latter with sixth. I was told the latter is a longer term issue... but being killed or turned to stone is going to get you out of the present situation just as surely, and if the battle is lost, no one is going to be there to ever turn you back to flesh anyway.
Save vs breath weapon is made against unavoidable large area damage (such as dragon's breath), while save vs spell is as you say it to resist magic, and as I understand it to deal with whatever doesn't fit in the other categories. Yet Fireball, despite being a blast you can at most resist halfway, is a save against spell. The best explanation I've gotten are that it's just written that way, or that it's a leftover from when breath weapon was just against dragon's breath.
Then, apparently because you have no other answers to give, you implore me to change it myself. I could, but I wonder what made them come up with such a weird and self-contradictory way of dealing with this stuff to begin with, and why they couldn't manage something better even then - it even carried on to the 2nd edition and most of the retroclones!
Further muddling the issue is the claim that I shouldn't change it, lest I break something I don't understand. As you see I'm trying my best to, yet fail.
Can you shed light on the matter?

An Endless universe RPG would be interesting, but you'd need to figure out what scale the players would be acting at and how the various sources interacted.
After all, we have Endless Legend, Endless Space and Dungeon of the Endless all contributing bits and pieces to the greater whole.

Storm Strider – We want to see the “Storm Strider” moving, not just sitting back and shooting to help differeitnate it from other battle engines like the Arcantric Force Generator.
Build Up Power only when advancing.
Protectorate
Vessel of Judgment – Quality of life changes to improve how this model interacts in Faction.
Cleansing Aura does not remove friendly upkeeps.
Doors of Judgement: Changed to destroy so the soul can be collected.
Khador
Gun Carriage – We felt the Gun Carriage was able to stay very safe with Reposition and 12" range on its cannons. This change brings the Gun Carriage in line with what we would like to see it doing on the battlefield. We found the majority of users only used the Trample Power Attack to gain extra threat range on its ranged weapons and Line Breaker should give it a solid bump in melee potential.
Replace Power Attack: Trample with Line Breaker
Reduce the range of heavy Cannons from 12 to 8."

Desecrator – We felt this warjacks ranged output could use an increase in effectiveness.
Increase the RNG of the Plague Bearer to 12 and its POW to 14.
Bane Warrior Command Attachment – Moving Granted: Tough to the Standard Bearer makes the ability harder to remove from play. Removing the need to box enemy models as a requirement of Void Bringer makes it more reliable in unfavorable match ups.
Granted: Tough moved to the Standard Bearer.
Void Bringer changed to returning d3+1 models.
Bane Knights – Feedback showed that Bane Knights were under performing, please continue to test with this new point value and provide feedback.
Change point cost to 10/16.
Bane Riders – Increasing the threat range of Bane Riders has been a very common theme in feedback. It also has a nice synergy with Vengeance.
Increase the RNG of the Bane Blade to 2.
Mechanithrall – With the increase to DEF, Mechanithrall to cheap at 5/8.
Increase point cost to 6/9.
Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls – We want the Necrosurgeon to remain pertinent. Veteran Leader makes the Mechanithralls (and Brute Thralls) more effective on the battlefield while they are in close proximity to the Necrosurgeon.
Gains Veteran Leader [Mechanithralls]
Bane Lord Tartarus – As a passive ability Veteran Leader is easier to use with regards to order of operations, and is a nice bump for Agathia
Change Curse to Veteran Leader [Bane].
Increase MAT to 8.
Wraith Engine – This removes the counter intuitive interaction between Soul Bondage and Cleave.
Replace the text of Soul Bondage with the following:
Once per round when a living enemy warrior model is destroyed while within 2˝ of this model, you can replace the destroyed model with a Machine Wraith solo. The destroyed model is removed from play and does not provide a soul token."

Is simulspace just as good as reality?
If so, I find it really hard to believe anyone would care about real life anymore. The only reason we don't spend all our time in the virtual TODAY is because it can't replicate the feelings of reality, just make a shadow of an imitation of it. And we still spend half our lives immersed in media, even with its limitations of experience.
Beyond doing what's needed to sustain the virtual life, why bother with reality when virtual reality is even better?

I had a shadowrunner whose wife kicked him out because of his stupid life style (shadowrunning). He sends her a lot of gifts and tries to win her back but it wasn't working. Eventually she left for Japan (where she had some family) and the party found out and took a trip to the island. Things got crazy and we got wiped after some japanese adventures, was a lot of fun.
