Its a good feel to know that along with the boomer generation's death so too will virtually all 1911 fags finally leave this planet.
Truly a future better than even when revolver fags finally all died off.
How does that make you feel /k/?
b-but i'm not a boomer
Makes me feel like you don't understand that there is an entire demographic of shooters who use the 1911 in high level competition because of its amazing trigger and huge after market. I also feel like you're the kind of retard that can't separate subjectivity from objectivity and you fail to realize that while the 1911 isn't best at everything, it is best at some things.

Were the Rhodesian Security Forces really as innovative and well trained as everyone made them out to be, or was it merely the fact they faced an incompetent enemy force?
Obligatory screencap and accompanied music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBVDdr3wqm4
Bit of both. They pioneered modern fire force tactics for one thing. I dont think the competence of communist forces should necessarily be downplayed, while many were too stupid to survive a single engagement, those who did survive and were trained in Moscow or by Chinese advisors became very shrewd and dangerous insurgents.

She means she knows how to use a gun you mouthbreather, and good for her.
TD is a meme, the only time it matters is on a range or during actual operation.
99% of /k/ sits around dry firing their used glock 19s all day anyway because they're too poor to afford ammo.

Is that a nigger hand or a spic hand I can't tell my /pol/dar is not working.
Is Archery a meme /k/?
I have a backyard wherein I can practice it. Would it be beneficial? Is it worth it for the self-defence?
>>34818462
>is [insert thing here] a meme?
Stop.
Anyhow, sure go for it. Cheap and great for hunting. For self defense? Maybe if the attacker is 50 feet away and doesn't have a gun.
>>34818462
Useless for self defense. Fun hobby that gets you outside and bowhunting though, would reccomend.
Im a compound shooter with a diamond infinite edge pro.
Dont listen to the meatheads who havent got a clue, start yourself on a lower draw weight to git gud then move up to heavier stuff.
>>34818462
Archery requires the skill of marksmanship, in combination with strength and conditioning that shooting doesn't tend to require. You could take a any infantryman in good shape, and he'll still need a year of practice to be considered competent in a bow in the same way he's competent with a rifle (that only took like 2 weeks) All that work goes into giving you a weapon that's just not as effective as a firearm.
Why didn't this weapon gain much recognition? Also, I've been hearing a lot of praises about this gun; how it is way more superior than AK47/AKM, but how is it compared to more modern rifles like M4 variants or the CZ 805 Bren?
>>34812347
It's not "way more better than akm". It's marginally better at best and far less prolific. The market is already dominated by AKs. No one needs it.
Its a decent gun, but the praises come from it being cheaper than AKs for the longest time and also less mainstream for that hipster appeal. Much like the Mosin, poorfags memed it up to justify their purchase.
They're pretty good, especially in places where AK's are verboten but they're not. They'd be better liked if they took AK mags.

This is a confirmed event, I know the land owner and his son personally and they're both on board.
Also, if anyone has anything they'd like to donate to the raffle it would be appreciated. Milsurp, firearm accessories, something /k/ related that you don't really want anymore but someone else might enjoy winning would be appreciated.
Everyone that attends NuggetFest will get a raffle ticket for free and you can buy an additional ticket for a dollar.
First nig post
Seems like it would be valuable to have a ship with a thousand cruise missiles and maybe a 100 slbms and thousands of more smaller anti air craft missiles.
Even make it a submarine so it can dive to avoid threats and detection. Though with how big it would be and that it would use a nuclear reactor It wouldn't be that great.
>>34841881
Because if it's sunk you don't get those missiles anymore. Additionally it's role becomes limited because it can't launch/recover seaborne vehicles (mines, torpedoes, UUV sensors, maintence divers, commando teams, etc) or air vehicles (sub patrol, UAV reconnaissance, resupply, etc) and can't shell nearby targets with regular howitzer gun. Also if there ever is a situation where the government needs 100 missiles onto a target, they will either use an AF bomber launched from the mainland US or a submarine if the mission requires a lot of stealth.
Which is why frigates are dominant: they might not be perfect any any individual role, but as a group they are much more resilient to damage since each can cover for each other.
>>34841881
because we gave that job to submarines.
>>34841925
So you can't also integrate some drones and commando teams into the arsenal ship? Also all that you said can be said for air craft carriers and stealeh submarines with icbms.
When have we ever, in recent, history shelled anyone with howitzers? Also a modern military would easily take our a ship that close to the shoreline.
Also for the howtizer thing you can also include a couple rail guns into the ship as well. No reason you can't.
What are your actual options if running no longer works?
Reminder that mob participants are mindless and prone to surging.
You shoot them. Mobs aren't made up of fanatics who are willing to fight to the death. They will flee when the first one falls.
AK-47s for everyone!
>>34841495
Not always true. if the cacophony is high enough, they won't even notice their dropped compatriots.
Always go big.
There is a reason protection details use miniguns. You don't drop a mob, one head at a time with semi-auto. You put holes into a crowd. Big ones. They are truly mindless.
Asides from firearms, explosive charges and grenades, what is the oldest weapon that would still hold it's on the modern battlefield?
My vote would be Scud-A, first fired in 1953 with a range of 270KM or 150KM with a nuclear warhead (50Kt).
With a CEP of 3KM it was far more accurate than V2 (which is a runner up) but with a nuclear or chemical payload, this accuracy would be less of an issue. and still able to be a dangerous weapon today.
>>34841143
tracked Scud TELs look so cool, it's a shame they're well into "more than you can afford, pal" territory.
V2 is hardly a runner-up to a Scud, there's dozens of weapons that would be more practical/effective.
>>34841143
M67 recoilless rifle. Basically just a rifled tube for chucking HE and HEAT, it's still about as useful as a CG minus the age of the ammo.
>>34841143
HMS Dreadnaught from 1906 could still provide some beastly naval gunfire support.
Hey /k/, how would this thing work?
Pic related is just a shitty drawing. I'm making up concepts for ghetto grenades. The main body of the grenade is supposed to be a plastic water bottle, and the gunpowder is stored in a small plastic bag capped with the top of the water bottle that has a small hole for the fuse to be put in. The bottle also has holes for the other fuses to light the gasoline/alcohol mixture. I'm actually curious
Also grenade thread
>>34840764
I'm not the ATF or whatever, this is just a concept. I'm not well read in the exact laws with explosives, and I haven't made this either
If it's illegal I'm not going to make it
>>34840759
It would go boom.
Are there any inherent drawbacks to wielding two guns per turret?
>>34840758
unnecessary
>>34840758
Same reason you should dual wield pistols. Twice the ammo in half the time
>>34840758
Larger turret increases the overall size and profile of the vehicle
Bulky breeches cramp the crew compartment and provide yet another thing to break your head on
second gun limits ammo carried, especially if they're different calibers/shells
i am a leaf, whats the best place in america to move if i want to have a plot of land to fire all kinds of guns on?
Probably Wyoming or some shit.
Anywhere in flyover country.
Good luck getting a job there though.

Fellow leaf here. Got my American citizenship and am planning on moving to north dakota. Nice land there
