Are you good at mental maths? Do you have perfect eyesight?
Do you enjoy clocking on at 10:00 and off at 16:30, then popping off to the NAAFI for a swift half?
Do you hate PT and physical fitness in general?
Would you like to go to war sitting down and only seeing the enemy from miles away as you vaporise them (and hopefully not your poor lads on the ground) before disappearing off into the wild blue yonder for a pint, crossword and a cheese toastie?

If you answered yes to these questions, the RAF is for you.

He said pilot, not RAF reg you silly bugger

>>33982021
Pilots are all officers, and officer selection is standardized out of Cranwell, where you're expected to be as much of a leader of men as any other officer in any other role would be.

Confidence and willingness to lead is pretty fundamental.

Well /k/, after more than a year of lurking I'm finally hasguns. Any tips for a beginner? Cheap ammo, gun safety, gun maintenance, anything you wish you had known when you started out.

Also please no bully, FNS was cheap and it's hard to justify spending a bunch of money on yet another expensive hobby.

Not bad, at least its not a glock or CZ. As far as ammo goes, run whatever is most reliable for the most affordable amount. Also practice a lot and if you plan on using it for HD get some kind of light. Maintenance shouldn't be much more than oiling and cleaning once in a while. For cleaning I use boretech products because they clean very well and don't smell like shit. If there was one piece of advice I could give, buy once cry once, don't skimp out on anything that you plan to use for defensive purposes.

>>33981964
not a bad first pistol at all. most people do alot worse. buy loads of ammo and shoot the piss out of it. use clp to clean/lubricate.

>I am aware this is an incredibly unlikely set up, but please roll with it.

Imagine you are in a situation similar to that of Noah: You know society will collapse in ten years, however you do not know how. You are given a budget of 15,000 American dollars to help you ensure the survival of you, family and friends, with an additional 1,000 dollars per person who join, while they will be willing to give your leadership skills a try when society collapses. There is no limit on how many you can try to take in, but you will still need enough space and food for them.

There are no rules on how you spend the money, so you may blow it all on hookers, cocaine, and video games. But I'm not interested in daydreams similar to my own.

You may likewise attempt to invest the money and I'd like to hear what you'd invest in. But business may go badly.

You still have to adhere to the law until society's collapse, though you may spend the money on bribing the police, however you have to account for this in your budget.

What do you do, what is your plan? What preparations do you undertake?

ehhh.. $15000 is a bit low for starting. you still need to get land or hillside, etc. Drilling wells and septic sytems arent cheap.

Best I can figure is cheap hillside land. DYI large tunnels into it, Solar panels, DIY wind turbines and somehow set it up with a well, septic and basic airflow for radon. Some sort of seal for all the surface to keep out gas, water, critters, etc. A large door layered in lead.

Then spend the rest of the money on used RVs, trailers, supplies & spare parts to fit inside the tunnels.

We haven't had one in a while. Can we start sharing some reloading tips please?

To start, what's a good beginner press that you won't outgrow quickly? Is pic related any good?

Anyway, made any ammo recently? Tell us about it.

>>
You don't outgrow single stage presses. But they aren't good for small amounts. They are better used for bigger calibers, specially bottlenecked. I wouldn't load .308 or bigger in a semi-progressive or progressive press.

Buy one if you plan reloading big calibers. For 9mm reloading or any dump ammo it might be better to just get at least a semi-progressive from start.
>>
Ive got a redding case trimmer but its not cutting square. I found no way to adjust it and im not sure if the trimmer or the collet is off. Any thing i should try to fix it.

.303 is a bit of a pain to reload, tge chamber is so loose i think the brass will wear out quickly
>>
I want to reload so im able to shoot more and as a hobby, any obvious things i should avoid?Any mistakes you guys made when first starting out?Gonna grab a lee turret press next weekend and start loading.44,hoping to not blow myself up

Alright so... anyone have any experience with these? I have picture related in the .22 variety being shipped. Supposed to be pretty powerful for an air gun. Lots of youtube videos of people shooing at 50-100 yards with pretty remarkable accuracy and power.

I hear pumping them up are a royal bitch, lots of people use scuba tanks or other devices to fill... but a single 5 minute hand pumping session is good for 20-30 shots.

They are supposed to be really quiet - much quieter than the classic 1967 blue streak I'm currently using to dispatch squirrels. The barrel is encased in a shroud which is like a large silencer.

Ordered a SWFA 16x to put on my .308 and gonna take the SWFA 10x that's on it for the PCP. Should be pretty legit.

Experience with PCPs or with a Marauder?

Shoot with one once, very accurate at 70 yards. According to friend every PCP is accurate at around 50 yards with correct pellet and pressure configuration.

To remove squirrel at less than 50 yards you can expect a kill per shoot.

Pumping is shit if you want to shoot a lot though.

What type of propellant would you need to create a round that would work in an existing firearm but not foul it with combustion residue?

Please ignore cost and availability, obviously if there was a cheap abundant material I'm describing they would have made it already.

Ignoring cost and availability, the absolute cleanest burning fuel that would even come close to the energy density necessary would be cryogenic liquid hydrogen.

Does anyone know what happened to Duke? I just realised I haven't seen him since I came back from a break from /k/.

For those who don't remember/know:
Duke Nuke'em is a namefag/tripfag/troll that used to post on /k/ around 2009~2011 give or take a few years, purportedly the guy in these images.

I kind of miss him after realising the current namefags on /k/ aren't as funny.
