>come from an anti gun family in an anti gun city and have no friends who shoot
How do you improve your shooting when you have nobody to learn from? Are there good books to improve?

Where do you live? I've trained very proficient Marksman. I was a rifle coach.
Otherwise the Internet has a wealth of knowledge.

What websites or books are the best to learn?

I'll be your autistic gun friend anon.
Same with me, anon. I was a noguns until I was in my 40s (spending a good chunk of my 20s living in Japan and a good chunk of my 30s in a job where I was on the road constantly contributed to that, but still...)
Lurk here. Watch some of the better gun YouTubers, like Hickock45, Paul Harrell, iv8888, and Demolition Ranch. Don't be afraid to ask the range officer at your local any questions you may have. See if maybe you can attend a /k/ meetup in your area. Accept that learning will be a gradual process - you'll make lots of mistakes and waste lots of rounds, but as long as nobody gets hurt, it's all in good fun.
/k/ needs a /k/ommando love and friendship social network site where you can find gun enthusiasts in your area for shooting and dating or whatever.

There's a /k/ommando map on the wiki but I don't think it's been updated in forever

I'm not sure. I never used the Internet to learn. I'd start you off on basics and probably prone and kneeling positions. Then graduate to standing fire.
Start slow and have fun. Seriously. It's a rush man, but don't be rushed.
