If you have to ask, you probably aren't suited for freelance work. The whole point is to seek out clients and projects that interest you, nobody else can really tell you the best way to do that.

Get involved in your community, keep your eyes open for opportunities, don't do shit for free but also don't be afraid to undercut yourself - the most important thing is building a rapport with clients so they'll think of you if anything comes up in the future or they have friends that need stuff done.
