What is the best music creation software for Linux?
>>59051859
renoise, bitwig, or milkytracker.
>>59051867
whoa you replied in 46 seconds
thanks, checking out renoise
>>59051859
if you want foss, i've fucked around in qtractor, found it pretty nice for relatively simple stuff.
the thing about linux audio production is that with jack, you can route audio and midi from one program to another, so you can either get an all-in-one DAW (there are only a few and they really vary in quality) or you can run a lot of little standalone synths, drum machines, samplers, sequencers (there are tons and they also vary greatly in quality) and interconnect everything. either way, you need a realtime kernel for the lowest possible latency
Me and Other members of ILUG-Cochin (Indian Libre User's Group) with Mr.Richard Stallman.
Have you met Richard Stallman /g/?
Why is that one Indian so white?
>>59051949
He's evolving.
>>59051695
Did he eat his boogers or pick his feet or any of that other gross shit he does?

If mpv is as good as the daily shilling here claims it to be, why is it never spoken about in doom9 forums? Literally nobody mentions it, or let alone makes a thread about it. Is it only a meme of linux users that can't into madVR?
users prefer IRC and 4chan I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We're surfing on the bleeding edge technology.
>>59051810
If by that you mean being a cheap knock off of madVR yes.
I own the ikea markus and the build quality is fantastic but it's not comfortable to sit upright in. It's only good for lounging back and watching tv and even then it's probably bad for your posture, and I already have a case of lordosis as it is. Can I get a good one, preferably with a headrest for sub £300?
>>59051461
Find a local used office equipment reseller. Buy a Flexsteel or Herman Miller or Haworth or whatever is in your budget.
You can't buy a "real" office chair for under like $500.
>>59051526
>used furniture
Disgusting.
>>59051526
Thanks. Why does it need to be a 'real' one? are you saying that all the others aren't ergonomic at all?
Surely there's a few with a headrest that are better for your posture than the markus. I'd like to spend as little as possible but I obviously want it to be quality.
The site literally was ruined and taken over by Pajeets.
That's nice, retard.
Who fucking cares.
...and nothing of value was lost.
Why do you use Intel/AMD/Nvidia?
Because they aere able to give me the performance I wanted for the best costs
The alternatives wouldn't have been the performance I wanted
Because I used to use Broadcom but after getting a 1440p monitor for christmas (which RPi:s don't support) and struggling with modern web browsing, I realized that anything else than modern PC for desktop computing is a bad meme.
>>59051295
AMD
Because games, and because NVIDIA's driver policy with regard to VMs pissed me right the fuck off.
Hardware has the capability but you can't use it because it's in a VM = kys team green
>ESXi can't easily hide it either
Hello people, I just got a check for $800+ and I want to buy a new labtop.
I'm willing to spend around $600
For processor dual-core and between i5 and i7
2.35Ghz or more
8Gb of ram and 1Tb of storage on hard drive
Any suggestions?
>>59051254
Is anyone here?
thinkpad X220
Now leave
It's getting warm so let's talk AC my /g/urus
I have a single (large) window in the room I live in, and this year instead of putting the 10 year old window unit back in I want to get a unit that is "portable" so I can have the window open at night and in the morning.
Pic related is what I'm looking at, but all it's reviews and reviews of similar units all bitch about them dying quick or shutting off every hour because you have to drain water from it (plus, there is still a hose that needs to go out the window.)
I keep my freezer open all summer long
:-(
get a window mounted one and open a different window
These things hang out the windows because they output an insane amount of heat, putting the heat in your house and then radiating it through a radiator and out some thin cloth pipes isn't the most effective solution

What are you working on, /g/?
This is how to generate Pi in C#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdbool.h>
int main(void) {
double n = 3;
long long k = 2;
while (true) {
if (k > 1000000) {
break;
}
n += 4.0 / (k * (k + 1) * (k + 2));
n -= 4.0 / ((k + 2) * (k + 3) * (k + 4));
k += 4;
}
printf("pi = %.15f\n", n);
return 0;
}
This is how to generate Pi in Rustfn main() {
let mut n: f64 = 3.0;
let mut k: i64 = 2;
loop {
if k > 1000000 {
break;
}
n += 4.0 / (k as f64 * (k as f64 + 1.0) * (k as f64 + 2.0));
n -= 4.0 / ((k as f64 + 2.0) * (k as f64 + 3.0) * (k as f64 + 4.0));
k += 4;
}
println!("pi = {}", n);
}
Seriously, what the fuck
Going through C++ book. Pretty cool stuff.
That said, what is some project that I could use to cement my knowledge of C? Not looking at toys like "implement a binary tree" - looking at something that actually does something.
I was thinking about a simple web framework since it includes:
> handling utf-8
> sockets
> asynchronous stuff
> using third party libs (parsing http)
Too many Ryzen threads with fake benchmarks because Ryzen shills are already in buyer's remorse. This is the official CPU general with accurate information.
Whoever has legit benchmarks post them here and IGNORE FAKE RYZEN BENCHMARKS
Ryzen will restore AMD to glory
you'll see
>>59050755
>expecting legit benchmarks
Even if there were any legit ones Ryzen shills will find the ones that put it on top by 2% at most. Who the fuck uses cinebench daily, we need some real life benchmarks and fuck Ashes of the Singularity
intel is finished
Did I hit the silicon lottery /g/?
>Did I hit the silicon lottery /g/?
Sit in a corner and think about why that question makes no sense worded this way.
>yfw you could have bought 6-core ryzen processor for the same price
What do you look for in a tv, /g/? I bought a fairly cheap 4K/HDR sony thing and I feel like that should be fine. Do you guys even care about televisions?
don't get spying smart tv
>>59050636
Didn't have much choice these days to be honest.
>>59050660
just a few years ago you could get a dumb tv, that not the care now
Is there any software that actually simulates wet painting, like acrylic painting? You know like interaction with wet paint, drying the paint out, realistic color mixing, possibly some physics simulation running in the background to achieve all this?
>>59050475
No. Seems like you've just found a nice niche for a programming project, congrats. Best of luck to you, do a good job.
its actually a good idea if it exist
>>59050475
hope your team is fast in developing either you will be second ;^)
Android emulators.
Is there a good one?
I've been using Chocolately to manage all of my software lately and I noticed Andy on the package list. Anyone have any experience with it?
What do you recommend?
>>59050386
Chocolatey*
>>59050386
I've used Nox in the past, they all seem like cancer though really.
>>59050386
bluestacks for gaming, idk what you're using it for though
Is it possible /g/
Would I just run a switch out of my modem, then to my router. That way I have several Ethernet ports behind my router. Does this work for spectrum?
>>59050343
Hook up multiple modems to shotgun 'em
>>59050362
Wut? Plz explain. Can't tell if trolling
>>59050343
You can have multiple IP addresses in one household, yes.
Whether your ISP will let you is a whole other matter. Contact them and ask.
