> Support for using Signal without Play Services
>This is now possible with beta calling, so non-GCM users are a part of beta calling by default.
https://github.com/WhisperSystems/Signal-Android/commit/1669731329bcc32c84e33035a67a2fc22444c24b
All that's left is support for using it without a phone number.
We almost there, /g/.
Neato. Now you can just download it through Raccoon or Yalp, right?

Post your component list, rate other anons', and ask questions in general.
Always state the purpose of your PC, your budget, AND YOUR COUNTRY if outside the USA.
If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price or to improve specs or build quality.

>Subsitute a G4560 with 2400MHz RAM for any Pentium or i3; similar performance, up to 50% cost reduction.
>Consider using an i5 7500 in any RX470/480 or GTX 1060 tier build
>Consider stock fan+heatsink for any i3 or locked i5 build without a Z mobo
>Consider a B250 or mobo for any Pentium or i3 build
>Add a 240GB SSD to the "Very Good" tier build
>The only worthwhile gfx cards are the GTX1050, RX470, RX480, GTX1060 6GB

In dawn light of Ryzen, thinking if I should replace my PSU.
I have Corsair cx750(old one from 2013) now. Seems to be working great with 390 and 2600, should I replace it for something more substantial like Seasonic?
With XFR I worry it may give up on me, if it is as aggressive as AMD says.
>>59044624
You're fine. Ryzen won't draw more power than the i7 2600
>>59044624
meh. new hardware is more efficient so you wont ever get near your max Watt so even tho its a CX model you'll be fine.
This is THE BEST SCREEN SETUP EVER for programming and getting shit done in general.

What are your thoughts on managing 100+ Ubuntu servers spread across the US? The need would be primarily for maintaining and updating Tomcat applications. Would something like OpenVPN and Puppet work? Has anyone else done something like this?

No, and you don't either so stop trying to make us feel bad for being jobless losers.
never tried something like this with 100+, but you should be able to pipe a script to the separate servers via SSH.
that's my 2 cents

AMD looks to be far more competitive with their CPUs than their GPUs.
>>59058984
Their GPUs are highly competitive already
GCN is nowhere near behind as bulldozer was
>>59059018
But there's still reason to buy Nvidia, the gap isn't so huge between them and AMD. If Ryzen is as good as the hype suggests, there will be no reason to buy Intel.

>According to this paper, AMD wants to get around this "large die issue" by making their Exascale APUs using a large number of smaller dies, which are connected via a silicon interposer. This is similar to how AMD GPUs connect to HBM memory and can, in theory, be used to connect two or more GPU, or in this case CPU and GPU dies, to create what is effectively a larger final chip using several smaller parts.
>In the image below you can see that this APU uses eight different CPU dies/chiplets and eight different GPU dies/chiplets to create an exascale APU that can effectively act like a single unit. If these CPU chiplets use AMD's Ryzen CPU architecture they will have a minimum of 4 CPU cores, giving this hypothetical APU a total of 32 CPU cores and 64 threads.
>This new APU type will also use onboard memory, using a next-generation memory type that can be stacked directly onto a GPU die, rather than be stacked beside a GPU like HBM. Combine this with an external bank of memory (perhaps DDR4) and AMD's new GPU memory architecture and you will have a single APU that can work with a seemingly endless amount of memory and easily compute using both CPU and GPU resources using HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture).
>In this chip both the CPU and GPU portions can use the packages onboard memory as well as an external memory, opening up a lot of interesting possibilities for the HPC market, possibilities that neither Intel or Nvidia can provide themselves.

>>59058084

Finally, I was wondering why GPUs were first to receive on-chip memory, considering there are far fewer products which use them.
My only question is, what will board partners do with all the space created by removing RAM?
That thing is gonna be fuckhuge. I wanna see one fully assembled.
>>59058084
Wouldn't clustering all those components together increase the thermal load by a fuckton, though?
Interesting concept, nonetheless.
What's stopping us from running pure Linux on an Android phone? (As in, no chroot shit, pure Linux with a WM made for phones or something)

The fact that people actually need to use their phone and not spend the first 6 months trying to configure it.

I would love to know the answer to this, I've looked into a bit and the only answer I've found is just "hardware drivers".
What are your thoughts about the Ryzen Sr3 1200X? It's gonna be the i5 killer... or the i3 7350k counterpart
No, it's gonna be the i5 executioner if the newest leaks are correct.
