I like using a water bucket but it isn't really a quick kill for them. Anyone have any better suggestions for killing a lot at once?

Just use the 5-gallon bucket/trashcan method. They try to climb on something that rotates in order to eat peanut butter then fall into the bucket/trashcan which has a few inches of water where they drown. google it.
>>
>>2411216
I have been using that but I feel bad for having them drown for a while. Something that instantly crushes the skull or spine is more of what I'm looking for.

Would there happen to be a guide to which shots and vaccines to give to a puppy?

I want to get a puppy, but I'm not sure what shots she or he will need from 8 weeks onward.

>>
The vet will know which shots your puppy needs, you're not going to come in with a list.

All puppies will need multiple doses of the D2APPL/others, then rabies at about 6 months.

Depending on where you live other vaccines may be mandatory or highly recommended, like leptospirosis. Bordetella is also highly recommended.
>>
Just google "puppy vaccination schedule".

Distemper series and rabies are considered core. Lyme is good if you plan to go camping or hunting with your dog, or otherwise expose them to areas with a lot of ticks, even if you use flea/tick repellant. Bordetella is for kennel cough and should be given to dogs that will be going to dog parks, kennels, etc. - areas with lots of other dogs. Most boarding facilities and daycares require it. Lepto prevents leptospirosis, which is a very shitty zoonotic disease acquired by drinking water contaminated by infected wildlife - so another "outdoorsy" dog vaccine.

My dog was eating grass last night. This morning it was vomiting small patches with grass in the vomit and was drooling alot more than usual. It didnt eat its dinner tonight and threw up inside at 8pm what appeared to be a scentless clear liquid. At midnight it threw up alot of bad smelling liquid with white foam in it and at 2am it just threw up this red coloured absolutely foul smelling liquid. I can drive to nearest after hours vet surgery and get him there in 4hrs or wait 6hrs and take him to our usual surgery when it opens.

I have full pet insurance so not worried financially about getting him to the vet, just looking for how to ride out the night with him. He doesnt seem to have any pain when I press his abdomen. The internet is saying omit water for 12hrs and also to give him as much water as possible so not sure on that one.

he should be fine. it looks like he got food poisoning. still take him in because im just a dude on the internet for fucks sake.

can you call the emergency vet and get an opinion from them? i think waiting the extra two hours would be better than driving 4 hours with a sick dog.

This needs to go global. We need help in New Zealand to fight the idiots that paste this poison in our forests and are destroying the native species. It's being kept quiet and people are making fortunes from it.

>>
People using poison baits for anything larger than a roach outside of a building are morons, plain and simple.

There's literally nothing that can be done about the target animals they are trying to get rid of in New Zealand. They are just going to have to let nature balance itself out.
>>
>killed by 1080 poison
Well thank god they dint use 4k poison.
>>
How do they know it didn't die of illness or internal bleeding after a fight or eating toxic plants by accident?
How are people making fortunes off dead poisoned animals?

What does /an/ think about cannabis and animals? I have a couple of friends who do this to their animals. Is it dangerous? Safe? Why do people do it to them?
39 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
It is abusive. Chemically induced high affects different species in different ways. Typically animals will respong with fear, aggression, or both as they do not understand what is happening to them.

Now, that said there are some species in the wild that get high intentionally. Dolphins do it by bumping their noses against puffer fish to get some of the venom. They even knock the puffer fish around between them like a group of teenagers passing a joint. Birds, especially magpies, are known to eat spoiled fruit (apples) to get drunk.
>>
I have done it with my tiel.
I dont think its right, and its abusive.
My bird seem to like it, she stays very calm, like to eat a lot (i wonder why) and is even more receptive to petting, but you cant guarantee your animal will like, and bad trips are a thing.

I dont do it anymore btw, nothing wrong came out of it, but the animal has absolutely no choice on the matter and is unfair to them.

It not gonna kill it nor its going to leave permanent damage or scars, but remember that weed causes paranoia and increases your heartbeat, so be aware of your pet temperament and health problems.

I've got a Belgian Malinois puppy coming into my home at the end of next month. Yes, my girlfriend and I have the time and willingness to train this type of dog so that it hopefully doesn't become neurotic and destructive. We've both dealt with difficult dogs in the past and our schedules work out so that the dog would only be home alone (not even alone, my roomates and their cats will be around) for maybe an hour, tops. We live in a city and our (large) apartment is very close to a running/bike trail and there's a dog park very close by.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for this type of dog. I've done a bunch of research but for every 1 tidbit of info, I get 3 more snippets of seemingly elitist dog owners saying stuff like "don't get a mal unless you are a professional military trainer like ME because if you do, you are going to fucking DIE"

I'm fairly sure what I'm getting into- but I was just wondering if anyone here had more information other than what I've posted so far in terms of training and attention requirements. They seem very easy to train but also easy to mess up.

Am I gonna be in over my head? I'm confident but I'm not retarded. I want to be the best owner that I can be and not end up rehoming the poor dog.

this is a standard bait of [me and gf, rented apartment, first dog, working breed] yaddayadda don't wait for responses really.
Information is it's a full time job for 3 months at least and after that, if you go "I need to work at least 9 hours and, like, eat. See ya doggo" - separation anxiety and half the training is lost.

Who else deal with uninvited pets? I live in a basement and have a drain fly infestation, over time they have just become my unliked friends, I kill one every now and again but they are so numerous it's futile, mostly I let them flutter about my bathroom as long as they don't come into my living space

I also have centipedes, who I kill without mercy

>>
Why don't you just pour Draino down your drains and kill them off?
>>
>>2420109
Does that work?
>>
>>2420116

It should. Drain flies live and lay their eggs in the hair and fibers that get stuck in the drains. Get rid of that stuff and the flies usually leave completely or disappate.

My favorite was animal cops. I really hate the dog and cat 101's, they were just too fucking vague and would make every breed sound perfect or simply leave shit out if it didn't sound good. I guess they have some new show where they follow BYBs that breed multipoos and corkies and shit, and follow a person looking to buy one of the dogs. The intent is just a cute show I guess for people who already bought too many cockerpoos and can't have the experience of buying another puppy. But it was so infuriating, every middle aged woman at the end of the show when asked why they made their decision, 'it was cute!'. Fucking reee

It happened to all the awesome channels. You can't discover anything on Discovery, it's all CRAB FISHERMAN. You can't learn about mummies on History, it's all I'M NOT SAYING IT WAS ALIENS BUT IT WAS ALIENS. You can't watch lions bang on Animal Planet, it's all LOOK AT THIS HALF DEAD DOG: HOUSTON
