Is this a bedbug? At first I thought so but the vertical ridges on the back instead of horizontal are making me question that judgement. And if it isn't then what is it and is it a problem?

I know this is supposed to be an ebin meme thread but I have a story about these weaver birds. There was a male living near my window, building nests to try impress this one female. Every time he built a nest, she would show her disapproval and he would destroy the nest and start from scratch. This happened more times than I can count. In the end she left him for some bird Chad and he never did finish building the perfect nest.

The cruelty of women transcends species.

Has anyone here had experience with expensive/pedigreed cats? I've always wondered what it would be like to have a cat that's smarter than a stoned hamster, but I know next to nothing about what's involved in owning a purebread.

Feel free to discuss any other pets with pedigree, too.

I wouldn't say that purebred cats are more or less intelligent.

There is a Devon Rex (curly hair cats) that posts here, or at least they used to.

In case it needed to be clarified that a Devon Rex cat isn't actually posting on /an/
>>
>>2416888
Well, my current cat (who is nearly 12) isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. I thought there were certain breeds with reputation for intelligent behavior, like Siamese cats, but from what I've heard they need like 24/7 attention.

Hey /an/, I recently purchased a giant desert millipede. I've never owned a millipede, or anything other than a dog before, so I'm a bit of a retard when it comes to these sorts of animals.

Recently, I've noticed the millipede has been very lethargic. It basically spends most of its time hiding and curled up. I know they are supposed to be nocturnal, but I'm usually up past midnight and don't see it moving. Any idea what could be causing this behavior?

give us an idea of the setup. size, temperature, humidity, how much substrate, what do you feed.
>>
>>2416857

>Size
About 15x8x4.5 inches

>Temp
About 70 F

>Humidity
Initially, I had it about 50%, because I was told that since it was a desert species it wouldn't need much. However, I've also heard that millipedes like higher humidity, so I have it at about 70% now.

>Substrate
About an inch and a half of shredded walnut casings.

>Feed
Various fruits like strawberries, bananas, apples, etc.

Poster from /k/ here. I'm letting my goat kick back with a cold one?

You do realize alcohol is produced as a by-product of ruminal digestion right? Feeds with alcohol are more than tolerable for ruminant animals.

I always offer my cat some whiskey or gin, what ever I am drinking. She will give it a sniff, get all scrunchy faced, and look at me with contempt.

I dont really know of this is the place to post this but I really want a hedgehog. I'm really nervous about getting one. I have a couple of questions maybe you guys can help me with.
>are they easy to care for?
>are they're habitats hard to clean?
>are they loving animals like dogs and cats? Do they form relationships and whatnot?

Thanks in advance (:

No. Yes.

Easy, yes, aside from requiring socialization

habitats, dirty, lots of cleaning (once a week), plus LARGE. These things aren't going to stay in a cutesy aquarium. Ours is in a 4'x2' PVC cage, and technically even that is too small.

they will not form relationships. Like 99% of animals under 30 pounds, they will only build levels of trust. there will be no affection or anything. But that trust is well earned and makes you feel just as warm and tingly. animals do not give trust as freely as humans.

Honestly, the only bad thing I can say is just that they do require a large'ish cage. The rest is the same shit you'd be dealing with if you had a gerbal. Though the diet is MUCH easier with a hedgehog. You can literally feed them high protein, low fat cat food and it would sustain them in near perfect health if you can't find a petstore that sells hedgehog food.

How much socialization do they require? Will they ever not cower whenever you try to pick them up?

i've found this little guy in a pool near my home, i've been keeping it for 4 days and i'm feeding it with lettucce and salad.
I'm planning of buying a larger "acquarium" or a bowl and some sand tomorrow, i want to see the complete metamorphosis but i read that tadpoles are really delicates during transition? any tip for me?

Try putting skeeter larvae in there for him, which can be found in disgusting people's rain barrels. That frog isn't meant to eat leaves at any point, you better go find tiny insects of any sort.
>>
>>2416424
Arent most tadpoles herbivorous until maturity?
>>
>>2416426
Oh, I don't know. I always figured they ate larvae and little bugs. You have to Google that, I don't really know, and it might vary by species. I guess if he's eating it, he must want it.
