I had 2 for a few years until I found them both out of their shells, dead. I still don't know what happened, really cool guys to observe tho.
>>
>>2420962
Don't you need to give them new shells as they grow?
>>
>>2420992
Yup

Preferably, keep six different shells of varying sizes per crab. It helps cut down on fighting over shells.

Redpill me on wolves. Is the Alpha/Beta/Omega hierarchy true?
13 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2420523
No. Wolf packs usually consists of a mated pair and their offspring. After a few years the offspring leave the pack and form their own
>>
>>2420612
Sometimes if they fail, they come back for a while and help their parents raise the another litter a little, before leaving again.
If a parent dies and another wolf replaces him/her, they keep taking care of pups that aren't theirs because they "know" the next litter will be theirs.
>>
>>2420523
When you take unrelated male wolves and throw them in a cage they'll form up the alpha/beta/omega pack. Basically it's how wolf prison gangs work.

Now i have done my research and looked at a number of sites, even got a couple of free puppy books but everything seems so vague. Im on night 3 of having my new puppy and hes still not settling (i know it takes time) but what exactly is the best way to go about it? Im getting very little sleep with the crying and ive just been giving in and sleeping on the sofa beside him. I know this is encouraging it but it also seems kind of counter productive to me to ignore him when hes caged. I think it stresses him too much and he was just reluctant to even feed in there after the experience and there just isnt a moment in which he quietens in which i can reinforce it as correct behaviour. Do i just start trying to make him more comfortable in there during the day? Is this just normal puppy anxiety which will get better? Do i just leave him loose to cry himself out all night and pee all over the room? Just suck up the fact me and my partner will get no sleep. Not to mention the neighbours. I dont know. Just any type of personal advice about how to go about this would be great. Ive had dogs but this is a first puppy ive been fully responsible for and im anxious to do it right

How old is the puppy? It sounds like it might be too young to have been separated from the mother.

And having a puppy is basically like having a baby. It is a baby, just of another species.

Try teaching the dog to pee on those pee pads, since there's probably very little chance of it being able to hold all night.

Also, the dog does still need love and affection and comfort. Try putting the dog's bed next to yours. You can reach down and comfort the dog when he gets upset without teaching him to sleep on the bed all the time.
>>
>>2420234
No hes the proper age from a proper kc breeder who really cares about the puppies welfare. That was obvious. But i have heard schnauzers are bad wuth seperation anxiety. Hes semi using pee pads. I have them dotted about He mostly misses at this point. Theres no room in the cage for one so perhaps a playpen surrounding it? Yeah hes not on the bed. He mostly tends to plonk down on the floor beside the sofa. I dont really want him in the bedroom desu. Its just the whole giving in thing. I get not rewarding crying but whats an ok balance and for how long. I just dont think what im seeing is detailed enough

Also another thing is that hes not really bern eating his set meals. Would this just because he's still settling? And shoukd i remove the leftovers between mealtimes to set a routine. Or is it fine to leave until he settles.
Hes such a good boy. I want to be the best owner

Hey so I've recently been finding baby roaches in my toilet and my shower. I had just finished getting rid of some other roaches and their eggs but I guess one or tow hatched. Any advice or getting rid of these baby roaches
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>2419355
Getting rid of 'some' roaches usually isn't enough, roaches hide most of the time. When you find two or more roaches, its not uncommon there are more in hiding. You would have to hire a pest control specialist or use some sort of pest control product to kill off the infestation.

How its possible for small spider to catch such a big mosquito?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Thats a crane fly they only live for about 10 - 15 days and a quite vulnerable in this stage. They do not ""attack" like a female mosquito would they dont sting. They could bite.. but as dangerous as a butterfly bite. (Everything with a mouth)
>>
>>2422130
How could something catch one of the dumbest and most awkward insects that presently exists?
>>
They have very bad flight controle but can live after throwing off its own legs if they must. They can go on till just a single leg is left which they can still stand on and hold the ceiling without falling

Do you guys recommend any books or videos on how to own a dog properly? I was raised in a family where they could care less about properly caring for dogs and cats.

If it helps I have a full time job and am not home until 5 PM.

So my cat kept shitting and pissing in the house despite having a litterbox. So I'm making it sleep outside. Its just started to snow. Is it gonna survive?

>>
>>2420657
depends on how fluffy it is.
I accidently had my maine coon locked up on the balcony and it seemed quite tired after roughly 6 hours at -10°C.

but never put your cat outside in the cold if it has no opportunity to protect itself from the wind
>>
That's a sign of health problems. Take your cat to the vet ASAP.
>>
>>2420657
yes it will surviwe if you provide him a shed or any other shelter
