He's trying to bury it (as dogs do, to save it for later, or to hide what's his from others) but he's dumb.

Dogs aren't dumb enough to believe they can bury things in water.

Very.
Couple neighbours have an akita, they're dedicated, but he takes all their free time. Now they're going to have a kid, they'll probably have to give up the dog.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this. With that said: one of our neighbors is being a douche and besides planting these small trees right on the border he's been really annoying and careless with construction around his house and close to ours. Are there any trees or plants that grow vigorously that I can plant right on the border of our front lawns that will a) look nice and b) either grow over his yard or just straight up out compete anything he has? Maybe a very bushy plant or something that will spread and be hard to control?

So I saw this kid walking this medium sized dog. At first sight, I knew this was my dream dog. I asked what breed it was and he said half blue heeler and half something else. I forgot what the other half was. But it looked exactly like this, grey with a medium-long bushy tail.

I've never posted on /an/ before, but I find myself in need of some advice.

My family's oldest dog, a Golden/Collie mix of nine and a half years has come down with, what the doctors believe is, stage 5 lymphoma that's spread to his bone marrow (tests come back Wednesday but I'm basically resigned to it).

I'm not really giving him more than ten days and dealing with that my own way, but what I'm worried about is our other dog. She's a pure Pit Bull we rescued from neglectful owners with separation anxiety, and a big part of her getting better and happier has been living with another dog.

tl;dr: Anyone got any advice for helping one of my dogs not be depressed after the other one who she's known almost her entire life dies pretty soon?

I don't have any advice but I'm really sorry to hear about your sick dog, anon. I hope you plan to make his last days amazing
>>
Spend quality time. Excercise. Walks. Runs. New toys. Keep your surviving dog engaged. Eventually get another conpanion dog when everyone is ready. I am
Sorry for your loss. I lost my 17 yr fur baby gew months ago.
>>
>>2422585
That's the plan, but we have to get him home first. Poor boy went from "totally normal" to "bone marrow cancer" in about 5 days.

>>2422593
Thanks Anon, I'm going to be the only one home with her at the end of the month and the last thing I want is for her to get super sad because I sleep during the day.

i don't think it's against the rules but expect to be called out for being a retard who bought a shitty puppy milled dog who can't afford to take care of it
>>
>>2422481
Not against the rules but you'd probably get a backlash here. GoFundMes tend to be succesful on Tumblr though so might be worth making an account+post and maybe messaging some popular blogs asking if they'd be willing to reblog.

Suggest some books/ documentaries about megafauna, particularly of the north american variety.

Also post some art.

Please contribute to the thread first before asking others to.
Since you haven't mentioned what you've already watched, I'm going to have to recommend Walking with Beasts. Prehistoric Park with Nigel Marven has a couple episodes about rescuing Pleistocene megafauna from extinction. Walking with Cavemen shows a lot of the interaction between early hominids and the other local wildlife of the time. PBS came out with a special in 2010 about the sandtrap find in Snowmass, CO where they found everything from mammoths and mastodons to sloths and lions and saber tooth cats. Werner Herzog's Cave of Forgotten Dreams is pretty good, too, if you're interested in cave art.
There's really not a lot of documentaries that come out regularly about the evolution of mammals in general, especially if it's not dinosaur or dinosaur-era related. Go read a book. Take a road trip on the fossil freeway (pic related). I would recommend Nebraska specifically for Pleistocene megafauna sites and museums.
People aren't as interested in the prehistoric beasts and the wild kingdom that were alive in the lifetime of early modern Homo sapiens.
They like dinosaurs.

Japanese honeysuckle, Lonicera japonica. Some varieties have black or red berries, but there are also orange. Apparently it's invasive.

u mean the mix breed? In theory it probably is possible, haven't seen or had such an extreme example of color change but I seen really dark brown almost black fur turn a light pomeranian ginger, and seen pure white dogs turn darker but not that dark.

There is no solid proof that we evolved from apes but some people believe it anyway

There will never be proof of that you idiot. Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor. Saying we evolved from apes is like saying your cousin is your great-great-grandma.
>>
>>2422211
do you have proof that this is not the case?
