Can anyone tell me what this is?
It feels like rock mineral.
Sounds like metal
Looks like glass
Its kinda opaque with weird black designs throughout.

does it kinda feel like a billard ball?
then it's probably Bakelite, an old but very high quality plastic that isn't produced anymore because its too expensive
>>2420903
Mmmm kind of?
It feels fragile but is actually strong as hell. I can't snap it.

dinosaur bone
>>2420903
That is certainly what it looks like, will it melt?
Could also be AG-S4, which is basically Russian bakelite with glass polymer reinforcement instead of the formaldehyde used in bakelite. They're essentially the same thing, but bakelite sometimes contained asbestos as an additive, which I don't think the Russian stuff ever did.
If you want to polish it up, use very fine sandpaper and some olive oil. It should regain the shine.

I hate how literally everything from the past has asbestos in it.
>think I'll change my break pads
>WARNING: BREAK PADS CONTAIN ASBESTOS
>think I'll use an asbestos oven mitt to take my asbestos cake out my asbestos oven.
People knew it was bad for you then so why did they toss it in everything they ever produced?!

brown recluse
>>2421366
health regulations not as tight as they are today
>>2420902
Looks like a dog's sniffer.
>>2421378
That's what I was thinking but the markings don't look quite right
>>2421366
As long as it isn't airborne there really isn't a big deal, it's a great thermal insulator
>>2420949
Bakelite has no melting point.
>>2421488
Everything has a melting point. It's melting point is do great its basically inconceivable to melt it.
>>2421488
>has no melting point.
Solids don't work that way, anon.
definitely not a mineral, it is man made and I don't mean Oragonite or Goldstone man made. probably was a piece of something larger that was industrial that ground down somehow. I mine, study and sell gemstones for a living so I think to think I'm pretty educated in that field. not a naturally occurring stone, sorry I am not of much more help.
>>2420903
how to you say this word? bake-light or rhymes with tackle-light?
>>2421535
>I mine, study and sell gemstones for a living so I think to think I'm pretty educated in that field
>doesn't recognize polished dinosaur bone
>>2421541
The first one. Bake light
