Are these fucks really that difficult to train?
>>2429919
Stop trying to make this a meme.
>>2429922
It is a genuine question. My wife wants one.
>>2429922
This guy's different cuz it's a Shiba not an Akita lmao
Can dogs develop a friendship with us or do they just like us because we give them food?
Can they have genuine friendship with other dogs?
also what's going on with the dog at the end of the webm? he's closing his mouth and shaking his head
it's fucking proven that dogs have friendships. also they're feeling beings and can also feel psychological pain.
they also make this really obvious.
>>2429799
Wow he mauled that doggo. Alpha beast.
After seeing that video of the dog that drug the other one out of traffic, I have no doubts anymore.
What is the safest dog breed out there?
Some would say Goldens, but they are known to tear children to shreds.
Weiner dogs? Chihuahuas? Poodles?
>>2428226
Any dog, properly trained can be a good pet. Any untrained disobedient dog can be bad. Just do some research yourself,
Look at pictures online of what animal looks good to you, look up obedience training, etc.
I would be wary of poodles, doberman pinschers, and Rottweilers but even they can be good pets if their trained properly.
Except pit bulls, I have had one turn rogue one me for no reason scared me shitless, so the humane society took him off my hands.

If it has a mouth, it can bite.
As the titles says I was considering getting a German Shepherd Puppy in the near future and was wondering if it is a good choice for someone, who has only had experience with Dogs from relatives. I hope some of you have advice for me.
>>2428123
They're neurotic, high energy, high intelligence, high drive dogs that have a tendency to get dangerously aggressive when not raised properly.
Do the math.
>>2428123
For a first time dog, it's typically recommended that you adopt an older dog (or at least one that isn't still a puppy, so >1.5 years) instead of getting a puppy. Even the easiest puppies can try the patience of experienced dog owners.
GSDs are typically not a good fit for new or even novice owners. Echoing what >>2428148 said.
Have you considered looking at shelters or even breed specific rescues in your area? Have you looked into breeds of dogs that are "easy" for new/inexperienced dog owners? Those would be some good places to start your research!
>>2428123
Puppy? Fuck no.
An adult, already properly trained german shepherd is a good companion, though. But you would still have to invest enormously into him. Really not recommended for a first pet.
Why are greyhounds usually really friendly? Are they bred to be like this and if yes, why? What has being friendly to do with going fast?
Post those little guys that you still think of from time to time <3

I miss my cat. Her name is Pichi and she is the coolest cat ive ever had. She always followed me when I went outside, she was afraid of nothing ,she was realy smart and tough and the best hunter (she managed to kill rabbits, moles and other diffucult prey). I miss her so much

"Seriously, fuck this thing."
The Bobbit Worm is known for being up to 10 feet long and it's horrible, painful bites are known to cause permanent nerve damage. This is less of a problem for its prey though, as they are dragged underground to be eaten alive.

All of these organisms are incredible. Don't say they're horrible, we can't judge them for doing what they evolved to do.

I have about a month old kitten(pic not related).I adopted it when it was about a few days old and it's very small for its age.It hasn't been eating anything for almost a day. It's acting very lethargic not playing around and simply sitting around in the shade. Any advice?
well, has it had milk?
>>2431398
We tried feeding it some milk. When we came out it was empty but I'm quite sure my two older cats drank it. It had some water though but not much.
if you've been feeding it dishes of cow milk save everyone some suffering and go out there and stomp on it
Why are animal rescues and even some shelters are so shit? Why is it they are run by people with zero people/customer service skill whatsoever? I don't want to say all animal rescue people are nuts. But the same patterns repeat themselves. They are always histrionics, have a martyr complex and it's always the same bleeding heart story about they saved some animal from (x) ABUSIVE SITUATION, when 90% of the time it was a stray picked up or a shelter animal up for euthanasia because it has an expensive medical issue that honestly isn't worth the effort to save. Above all they are extremely possessive of their animals to the point you can apply and basicaly get told to fuck
30 page applications, wanting to see my home deed (I live in a fucking Co-Op) and even talk to my employers/reference (Wtf), plus home visits. I was literally turned down from adopting a fucking kitten because I work full time? How the fuck are you supposed to care for an animal and pay their $200 adoption fee if you aren't employed? Why would anyone want to go through this, and then be surprised no one is adopting from shelters.
Anyway I was tired of dealing with the bullshit the shelter was putting me through so I got a kitten from craigslist. Its fucked up when these organizations keep spouting the same bullshit to adopt when it is literally easier to adopt a child then a cat.
I hear the same old pleas for adopting because of shelter overcrowding it just makes me want to gag.
>>2430897
>it is literally easier to adopt a child
It really isn't.
>>2430901
I beg to differ, becoming a foster care or even a legal custodian parent in this day and age is easier then adopting a dog from a rescue. Social workers and the law (and unfortunately sometimes to the detriment of the child) give you literally every leeway to hold custody so the state can do whatever it can to not take on a ward.
Some of these dog rescues will still hold title to the animal. Why the fuck would I adopt from a rescue when they could (and have in certain instances) legally take your pet away because some fat SJW shelter worker thought your political views count as animal abuse.

My small terrier mix dog would constantly kill snakes that got into the yard, some of them venomous. I nicknamed her Rikki-Tiki-Tavi because of that.
i have a trickster for a dog
example:
he's a small miniature pinscher type thing who doesn't love the water. he once pretended to enjoy swimming so he could get us way far out from the shore, then turned around and bolted back to the beach and ate all the picnic food while we slowly ran back through the water yelling and trying to stop him
