Are we being cruel when we force animals to bathe in ways that they don't ordinarily practice personal hygiene?
i'd rather my dog be slightly uncomfortable for a few minutes every couple of weeks rather than get lice and worms and shit so no
our homes, our bathing customs.
>>2433094
is this a real concern? i wash my dog maybe 3 times a year and its mostly just when hes shedding to get the hair out quicker. never had a problem with lice or worms
How come all deer living in forests haven't evolved to become giraffe-like creatures? there are lots of leafs for them to eat.
Because evolution isn't real.
Because they can reach the foods they need to eat.
Giraffes and elephants like plants that are higher up. Since only they can reach them, less competition for food.
If deer evolved to give them more height, they'd probably look more like gerenuks. Pic related.
>>2432413
Because they have more than enough food on the ground and there's no stimulus for them to evolve.
Plus a long neck would be a hindrance in a forest.
So people here hate geese because they are the Jews of the animal kingdom?
nazi scum pls go
757fag here. People hate these things because they moved in 20 years ago and have set up shop year round, eating everything, shitting everywhere, and being generally destructive.
They are aggressive and have no sense of self preservation. They are not deterred by gumans, cars, or loud noises. They disrupt traffic and attack people.
Honestly I believe uleuthanization was the best way to handle this particular group. If they persisted in the area, some disgruntled "salt life" bro would've done something far worse to them
Why didnt they just deport them back to Canada?
How big of a pizza could a bear eat?

the Russians have a fox domestication program dating to the '60s
if all goes well, maybe you'll be able to buy one
>>2432062
I heard about that earlier, I live close to Russia (Eastern Europe) so maybe it'll be easy to buy one someday.

Pholcus phalangioides
Location?
They're invasive here. Only around because they can spend the winter in people's houses. I fucking hate them. All they're good for is shitting their disorganised webs all over my white walls. I hate them so Goddamn much.
cellar spider

On the plus side for normies, they seem to outcompete and kill widow populations. I was sad to see all the thicc Latrodectus hesperus females disappear from my yard one year to be replaced by assloads of P. phalangioides. Never really recovered when I lived in that house. Used to have 30+ females in a 30'x15' area, and I'd only see a couple every year after that.
>tfw hagfish was not a reddit enough name for normies

Good. Hagfish are shit and should all be eradicated.

I am going to be the owner of a male Samoyed puppy soon.
what are some things i should prepare for and expect?
any advice from experienced samoyed owners would be appreciated.
>>2431387
expect everything you own to be coated with fine white fuzz
I suggest buying covers for your glasses and dishes and to get into the habit of using them
Get good at dog grooming. Shell out for some good brushes or get it groomed at a groomers.
I don't have one but I have an American eskimo. For the most part I gave up brushing mine and I pay someone else to do it these days since it's a losing battle. She lives to get as dirty as possible and after every walk I have to spend 40+ minutes picking bullshit out of her fur, especially in autumn if she managed to find something before I could pull her away.
Samoyeds are larger, therefore more fluff to deal with. I don't think their average shedding is bad but at least once a year they will shed hard. It's easily to just pull out, though. My groomer made a dog out of my dog though needle felting it.

>what are some things i should prepare for and expect?
Lots of arooroorooing
why are cuddly animals such a good stress reliever?
Prolonged physical content with a warm body releases endorphins.
I really like these endorphin things. What are other ways to experience this?

Heroin. Cocaine. Meth.
what the fuck is this moth. I'm in Michigan and I looked through the moths common here and I couldn't find it.
It could be a Harnessed Tiger Moth.

It might be a butterfly

Neighborhood cats keep pissing on my BBQ outside. Short of shooting them, which would have to be done late late at night, and bringing grill into house when done with, what's my options?
Spray?
Rub?
>>2430457
just leave the grill hot dipshit
They piss on the sides where it doesn't get hot.

Do people actually take dogs seriously?
>>2429432
...What do you mean? Are you asking if people genuinely respect dogs, because I know tons of people who treat theirs like their own children.
>>2429432
I think more highly of dogs than I do human children.
I see these unhappy parents with all these shitty worthless kids and wish them nothing but pain.
>>2429432
Humans and dogs have a special bond developed over thousands of years. In short, yes.
Let's play a game. Go to your local Craigslist and flag anything that is against their rules. Anything questionable can be posted here to judge. Keep track of how many you flagged with an optional pic of your favorite listing.
Craigslist rules:
>No selling of animals
Anything obviously bred for profit (purebred pups), anything that seems to be way more expensive than what it should be ($100 kittens with no shots or anything), anything for trade or OBO (or best offer). It's a rehoming fee to keep crazies from eating your pets, not a 'regain some of my losses' fee. Studding out is also prohibited
>No scams
Anything that talks about a free animal but pay for cost of shipping, very awful English, pay me now and get the animal later deals, anything that screams scam.
>Nothing illegal
Includes selling puppies and kittens under 8 weeks old, endangered animals, certain animal parts, whatever else may be illegal in your area.
>>2429295
Any post that doesn't have a rehoming fee listed and it's not listed as free to good home should be flagged too. They often say contact for more info and they are ridiculously overpriced for a rehoming fee but they don't want the post to be removed from Craigslist so they won't post the fee. They are often bait and switch, they try to prey on bleeding hearts to take their extremely expensive mutt
>a mix of 3 breeds known to be aggressive towards strangers and bad with young kids
>Good with kids and people because of said mix
>Owned by nigger

Hi. UK Fag. i have a cat or a fox (or it may possibly be both) that has decided that my garden is the place to shit. its stinks and is slowly driving me to think of methods to catch and kill. that said i would prefer to first find recommendations to scare said critters away. have tried shop bought stuff - gel / spray and powder. no dice. so what can you tell me of a surefire way of getting these guys to stay away before i get my air rifle and neeting out? thanks for all thoughts

A motion sensor hooked to a sprinkler
>>2429246
thank you for the reply.
i can do a remote motion sensor - i could buy one in uk that gives of a scary sound. but i have no outside water source so no sprinkler. have read online about lion poo - do you think this is true?
about high frequency sounds, human children and teens can hear them too, could be a problem for studying and so on.
If we were to reverse engineer a dinosaur from a bird, what species would you start with?
I'd start with the Bearded Vulture.
Just look at this thing.
>>2428972
Some kind of vulture or corvid seems like it'd be ideal.
juvenile hoatzin have functioning claws so i'd probably start there
